I'd forgive its (many) faults, common to many (most) color inkjet printers - poor paper handling, noisy scanning, chronic need for head cleaning and alignment - if the crummy thing would just work. Mostly, it doesn't. It randomly loses two-way comms connection, not just every time it prints, but every time you run any maintenance task. That would be OK, if I could even hard-wire it to any computer - but no. It won't talk through its USB cable, either. Every device (and the router) can see it. It can see every device. It just won't communicate. I've wasted most of a Saturday attempting every possible workaround - powering down EVERYTHING and restarting; uninstalling and re-installing, assigning a new port, static IP address. No joy. It stays resurrected for about a minute, and then goes mum again. For the $$$, just buy one each of every device, and a couple of extra cheap printers. From some other manufacturer.

This was a old printer my dad gave me and it works great after several years of use.

I like this printer. It can print, scan and copy as well as any of the other printers out there but I didn't have to spend a small fortune to buy it. It's very dependable and it fits well on my desk.

Great features. It looks good, prints and scans well, and it's a space saver. It takes too long to start printing and scanning though. I understand that it takes time for the bulb to warm up for a scan but why do I have to push the button so many times through the scan dialog to start a scan and then push through the scan dialog on my HP laptop too. It would be nice to have some quick options. I haven't got the wireless to work yet. It doesn't scan documents as pdfs on my HP laptop. Then the printer part is so loud when it warms up. I can't print anything at night. Most of the time, I use it as a scanner but I print with my old Deskjet D1420 because it takes less ink cartridges that come in a combo-pack.

This has been good so far. I did have to research a little more than necessary on how to override the 'gray scale' option and make sure that everything prints black and white to avoid wasting color. it double sided printed without me having to turn the paper over...good job!

This printer was discounted on Black Friday. I decided to give it a try. I am a teacher and at times will need to scan/print a few copies or up to 25 copies. As soon as I received it, I found it does not feed well. There can be a quarter inch of paper, but the printer tells me it's out of paper. In order to get it to work, I need to manually push the papers and hold it to get it to feed. It prints slowly and I waste a lot of time having to hold the paper while it prints.

When using as a copier this printer does not perform well. When making copies they come out ok at first but after a few copies they start to come out incomplete and sketchy after a few more they are blank. After trying different "fixes" I discovered the ink cartridge had come out and had to be reseated. This has happened every time I've tried to make copies. Wastes paper.

My most aggravating complaint is when I was setting up the FAX from HP website they sent me to E-FAX. Trying to find the free fax service was a game. I finally found it under open source. I do not know why HP would associate with this company. For the printer I got it for less than $50.It is not worth a penny more. HPs support on their website is not easy to use. It's been a couple of weeks so I am short on examples. It does everything that it says. It found my wireless network and connected with no problems. Make sure you uninstall all previous software and drivers to help you with a fresh install.

We really love having a wireless, networked printer in your home with multiple users. This printer produces great quality prints in seconds from anywhere in the house. The copy and scan features are an added bonus.

I purchased the HP Deskjet 3520. For the price, an awesome value. The printer was very easy to set up right out of the box. I was printing within 10 min. I have no complaints so far with my purchase and would definitely make this purchase again. I would recommend this printer to anyone who just needs an everyday printer/scanner/copier. Fits the bill perfectly.

This wireless printer is a great value and works very well. It's so nice to be able to print from any location and it's a compact unit.

Very disappointed in paper handling. Jams when ever stack of paper or envelopes is less that 1/4 inch. Confirmed with tech support that this is according to spec. However not pointed out in sales material.

Very cheaply made. Almost seems flimsy! VERY loud when scanning. The first time I did a scan, I thought that I had forgotten to remove something from inside the printer, it was sooooo noisy. Sounded awful. Still sounds awful. Scanning is very noisy. Priniting is noisy, Printer tells me I am out of paper all the time, and the tray is full. This printer is just a piece of JUNK!! I love HP... I have owned HP for years. This is the worst product I have every purchased! I am very disappointed. VERY!

The unit seems to require re-calibration.alignment and extra cleaning cycles before every use. It typically sits for a few days and then is used again. It's in a museum with a steady temperature of 60 degrees F, so that might be an issue. Last week it printed very well; this week it delivered two pages of unreadable text with smudges and blanks on startup. and 2 more unreadable pages after a while. We're considering returning this unit.

Machine is ideal, HP comes up short on ink cartridges that come with. Black ink didn't last 20 copies. Supposedly rated for 200. Include the higher rated cartridge and charge me for it. It's not like I won't have to go out and buy one eventually. Why inconvenience a consumer and enhance brand loyalty.

Good 3-in-1 printer. Purchased with a good deal. Have expected more, but glad with the quality and performance. "+": good price; wi-fi; fast copy; working with iPad/iPhone without installation of any programs. "-": slow printing speed; can't print b/w only; big; loud.

Nice for someone who doesn't do a lot of printing. Haven't really explored all it's uses yet. But I'd definitely buy this one again in the future.

works great for the price - lots of features - a little slow on network starts - but it beats anything we have owned before - look around you can probably find it for a better price in a store than at HP online

We had just bought our HP 3520 printer three weeks before we had a house fire and all was lost. We looked in stores for this same printer and couldn't find one but found one on HP website. Delivery was fast, set up easy and we love our HP 3520.

This is the worst Hp printer I have ever owned. The paper continually jams, doesn't ink properly and not easy to set up. I am very disappointed that I purchased this. My previous Hp printer was a charm which lasted over 10 years. Do not waste your money.

I love this printer!
By HPJake
It's only been a week since I purchased this printer, but I really appreciate the quality of this All-In One Printer. Initially, I was going to purchase another HP model but the 3520 e caught my attention because of its small footprint and its many features. Setup was non-challenging and user friendly. I am using the printer to handle my printing, copying and scanning and it is mastering all of the above with precision and quality output. Buy it, you wouldn't be disappointed.
Warning: 2 different DESKJET 3520 printers
By sealandmud
There are 2 HP DESKJET 3520 printers and they take different size Ink Cartridges. The Ink Cartridge says for DESKJET 3520 but it's a 50/50 chance you've got the right one. This Wi-Fi one takes HP 564 Black Ink Cartridge not the HP 27 Ink Cartridge the other DESKJET 3520 takes. This is a nice printer (this Wi-Fi one) and I like the Free overnight shipping of ink (when they fit).
The HP Deskjet 3520 E-All-in-One Printer has a wireless performance to do more at home and on the go. Wirelessly print from virtually anywhere and print two-sided documents automatically. Produce impressive results, using individual original HP ink cartridges. Automatically print and copy on both sides of a single page. Print affordably, using individual inks and save more with high-capacity cartridges for frequent printing. Produce borderless documents, photos and flyers at home. Print everyday documents at ISO (laser-comparable) speeds up to 8 ppm black and up to 7.5 ppm color.
Easily print, scan and copy everyday documents, using the 2.0-inch mono display. Print fun and useful templates with HP Quick Forms. Fast and easy installation right out of the box. Save desk or shelf space with a compact e-All-in-One designed to fit in tight places.
