Excellent plotter for low volume plotting engineer drawings. If you looking fast plotting this plotter/printer is not for you. If you are looking for plotter/printer for small architect, engineering firm this plotter will serve you will. Ink cartridges are a little pricey and low volume.

So far so good. It is larger than I imagined so I had to re-arrange my office a tad to find space for it. I've printed out a few sets of engineering drawings and other than getting the setting right from the pdf program I had, it worked great and the prints were very useful to have in hard copy. I can see how this will payback very quickly versus having to run to Kinkos/Fed Ex to get drawings printed. Time will tell have much ink I have to spring for but so far. It is working well. I am using a rolled paper for the 24 X 36 inch drawings, I already have a 11 X 17 inch printer but if the opportunity presents itself, I may use the HP to do the 11 X 17 especially if i need multiple copies. Adorama had the best pricing and my location in Connecticut meant quick shipping (once the religious Holiday completed).

I bought this about a month ago and it's good for what it is, but there are some entry-level aspects that are not clear in the specs. My main concern is that the memory is only 256 Mb. So, while the rolls of paper may be 120 FEET long, the longest printout I've been successfully able to print is about 50 INCHES. This limitation only came to light when I tried to print something that was longer than 50 inches. HP Support then told me that the printer can't print longer than 50 inches, but I found nothing on the HP site or specs that clarify this limitation. I then thought about upgrading the printer's memory, but it's fixed at 256 Mb. So, I'm pleased with the printer, what it costs and how it prints, but I would have been happier if: a) the limitations were explained in the specs; and b) the memory could be expanded. I was also disappointed with the printing output unless it was on "high quality" mode. Anything less than the highest quality shows banding and other print issues.

I got this to replace an old HP plotter. We plot full size layouts here, often in a big hurry. This plotter is easier/faster to load a new 24 inch roll, and self aligning. Also it plots lengths accurately without much calibration. It does take longer to plot from the CAD drawing though.

We purchased this printer for my husband to print blue prints out for work. 24x36 is the perfect size for him to be able to see the info without being too big and bulky. I had some trouble with the driver on his computer and had to call HP for assistance, but was able to get it working within about a half hour of troubleshooting.

I ordered this product to print 24" x 36" Architectural D drawings. It was easy to setup and prints with excellent quality, both black and white as well as color. I was concerned that the large quantity of data would not transmit over our wireless system but the printer receives the signal and begins printing almost instantaneously. We replaced an older HP Designjet 100plus with this printer and are very pleased! Adorama is great to order from with excellent pricing and quick delivery.

I bought this for my home design business and it works really good. I do wish that it came with a cover for the paper roll. I believe the higher end model of this printer comes with it.

This plotter is perfect for a small architecture firm. We purchased an Espon T5000 a few years ago for over 3k. Soon afterward, the color stopped working and then later the BW stopped. In order to fix it, we would have to drive 4 hours to get it fixed and it would have cost more than this printer.

On Friday May 4 th, I engaged a TI expert to help me set the plotter up which took almost two hours because we eventually found that the the paper feeder bar had dislodged slightly which was not readily apparent. Another 2 hours were spent trying to plot a single sheet 24x36 (Arch D) which is the only thing I need this plotter for. The Best we achieved was a plot about 14" wide on the 24" width of the paper. No matter what we do we can only plot Arch A and B in 'landscape' format and only plot half a sheet in "portrait". We then called HP and were on the line waiting for a response when we were told to call another number which took HP another 20 min to answer, following which we were told that there was no one there to help us until Monday May 7 th This whole experience is more than frustrating and has destroyed my confidence in HP afer the the great experience I had with the Design Jet 130.A much more friendly plotter to use.
