I named it "Slick" - just love it. It doesn't get hot, it is quiet, it runs old programs (I have Eudora since 1994...) as well as new programs. If the magic doesn't work on the first try, it will find a way around it. I usually run at least 10 different programs at the same time to get my work done and it does it all without a hitch. I watch movies with it too and the resolution and sound are excellent. There is a handy little sound indicator that pops up when you have to adjust the sound. I can log in with my fingerprint, which is very handy! Just tweak it to make it comfortable for you you and you'll love it!

This laptop is awesome extremely fast, and one of the easiest to set up. All programs right at your finger tips, and getting on line right out of the box with a couple of clicks. Screen clarity is superior to others, I also have a Toshiba and side by side the HP is superior. For the price this laptop will amaze anyone that is looking for speed and a big amount of storage, glad I made this choice.

This PC was an awesome purchase! I got a great deal on a fully customized to the highest spec possible which normally cost almost $1,700 dollars but I got it for $1,200 dollars thanks to a 30% off coupon HP had in June. The only complaint was that HP employees did not install Windows 8 on it and when I received it, it would not boot up. I called customer service and they sent me recovery discs which installed Windows 8 and got it working perfectly. After that, using this laptop has been an awesome experience. It boots up in 17 seconds which for it booting from an HDD, that’s very fast. If I was to install an SDD it would probably boot up in 7 to 10 seconds. The PC loads anything and everything very fast. I’m a programmer who is also a power user loading various heavy programs such as Photoshop, Light Room, Premier Pro, with several other minor programs open and I have yet to see it slow down on anything. Aesthetically, this PC is very beautiful. The metal finish is very nice and soft compared to plastic PCs I’ve had. My only complaint is that I was the screen was flush with the bezel like Macs but it is not a choice killer, simply a preference. The battery life is about 2 to 3 hours for me since I run heavy and intensive programs. If I just browse the web I get much better battery life. Close to 4 hours. I wish you could order a bigger battery than the stock 6 cell battery. Perhaps a 9 cell battery at the very least should be available. I highly recommend these Envy PC’s and preferably the TouchSmart ones since Windows 8 apps handle touch very nicely. My setup is the following: HP ENVY 17t Quad • Windows 8 Pro 64 • 4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4900MQ Processor • NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M Graphics with 2048MB of dedicated video memory • 17.3-inch diagonal Full HD Anti-glare LED-backlit Display (1920 x 1080) • 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm) • 2TB 5400 rpm Dual Hard Drive • 24GB mSSD Hard Drive Acceleration Cache • 6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery • Blu-ray player & SuperMulti DVD burner • Backlit Keyboard • HP TrueVision HD Webcam w/ integrated digital mic • 802.11b/g/n WLAN and Bluetooth(R)
