The best technology money I've spent recently! I bought the Android PC to replace my windows notebook and I have found I can do everything I did with the win notebook, and more. It handles all of my old win notebook tasks (eMail, web browsing, editing photos, word processing) and, of course, it has all the great tablet functions. And, I like the simple things: it honors 'my' home page arrangement; the performance is snappy; screen quality is excellent; good battery life; support for both 5.0 and 2.4 wifi; plenty of room for external storage; familiar keyboard short cuts. The HP engineers hit the mark with this product!

I picked this tablet because I like HP products and I didn't want to get a high end tablet. Don't misunderstand, I do like this tablet a lot I am new to working with a tablet and i'm pleasantly surprisedd at how much I can accomplish with it. However I would like to be able to connect a USB device, such as a DVD player...I'm still learning how to do some of these things with the tablet.

I wanted a hybrid that was a good tablet and a reasonable laptop. The Android Slatebook X2 delivered the package. It is a fast Android tablet and when docked to the keyboard is a reasonable if small laptop. Both my IPad and Galaxy Note weren't up to true notebook replacements for typing with Bluetooth keyboards. I didn't want to move to Windows 8 and not have access to the apps I like to have on the road. The hardware integrated keyboard creates a seamless laptop replacement and delivers over 12 hours of battery life which is great on the run, in the airport and on the plane. I read a few critical articles about the keyboard being small etc.. but people really need to see this as a 'hybrid' which does away with the need to carry both my tablet and laptop when traveling. Great job HP! For the price it's a steal.

I bought one of these and, really wanted to like it. It has so much going for it but, in the end the horrible sound broke the deal and, I returned it. Pros Tegra 4 Delivers Outstanding Speed Screen Resolution is good Keyboard and Track Pad Work Really Well Overall Battery Life is decent Build Quality is Great! Cons Horrendous sound through earphones. Read the support forums; this is a common issue. I actually went back to the store with my headphones and tried another unit. Same bass-less, harsh, tinny sound. Battery life of tablet alone is poor - keyboard required No cases for tablet only means you need to travel with keyboard - might as well have an ultrabook

When can we expect Kit Kat? BTW, this thing is great, and the dual battery is nice. I wish the tablet's battery had some more life to it but overall it's really nice. I like the resolution, the performance, the form factor, etc. We also need to put pressure on app makers to have printing or sharing of content so we can ePrint and Cloud Print from more places. Only the plain email program will do it but the gmail and outlook.com apps don't have any printing capability.

I loved this after I pulled it out of the box and it hasn't been a disappointment yet!!! Works fast and does not mind Bluetooth separate keypad nor Bluetooth speakers. All works great and thanks to the NVIDIA TEGRA CPU it is handling life without a beep. Pricing might be a little high on some views but it depends on how you're planning on using it. Shipping was super fast without any complaints.

A great Android tablet as a stand alone device - but then add in the base with a real keyboard and extra battery and it takes it to excellent. Highly recommended.

This tablet was shipped very rapidly and I was able to immediately start up, and connect to my wireless. I downloaded several apps (VPN, Telnet, Kindle) and had those operating correctly (with very fast response!). I am impressed with the speed of this tablet, and with the added features not found on other tablets. A very nice keyboard, USB is functional, and I added memory cards to the provided slots. Unit battery life seems to be as advertised, although I have not run it down to see if the 12 hour estimate is accurate, all indications point to a very good battery life. My only negative point for this unit is its non-standard charging connection, it would have been nice to have been able to use one of my other chargers (USB or HP). All in all, a very nice product. When I travel, I normally carry a laptop to process/save my photos,, usually 2-5 thousand., plus I also access my email via secure VPN. I browse securely to several accounts (bank, etc) so my needs are very specific. I also have a Kindle Fire HD for reading while in airports or otherwise waiting. I have combined all these into this tablet, plus I have the advantage of 12 hours of run time. Plus the two cameras are very useful, the HP app makes them very configurable, plus zoom is nice. My only complaint is the file system, it is difficult to find the files/fotos I save/edit. Maybe an app which emulates the familiar Windows config? Otherwise, this is an advanced piece of computing equipment which I highly recommend. Artur

What a great product. It is my second purchase from the HP Store so I know how easy it is to get what you want and to always get great service after the sale. As to the tablet, it is very solid, very fast and very easy to operate. I really like the detachable keyboard and the fact that it also has its own battery and a SD card slot. I have heard others say it is heavy, but you should remember that the keyboard has weight, it also has its own battery which adds to the weight. I find that it is easy for me to move it around and the weight, if it really is heavy is of no consequence. I would recommend this tablet to anyone. The only suggestions I have for an even better tablet and an even better HP experience is that they should make the SD cards more useable. In other words, give the user the option of installing apps on their SD cards, not just be able to use them for storage. And, ROOT and UNLOCK the tablet so the user can have the option as to what they want to install and remove from their tablet. Sooner or later someone will root the SlateBook x2 so why not do it yourself and assure that it is a worthwhile upgrade leaving nothing to a third party to create.

I would like to have given this product 5-stars being that this is the second iteration, but I'm disappointed in the build quality (plastic shell and can see where it doesn't seal against the screen), lack of GPS (not sure how they could have left this out), 16GB built-in memory (most apps like Google Play Music can't be sent to external memory, also limits in general what you can install on the device) 32GB should have been the minimum & Power consumption (had to install Juice Defender to help with battery...which for a device that doesn't have many hardware extras baffles me...you really need to have the keyboard w/ second battery installed to get long term use). I have found several products from the Android Market that state that "This device isn't compatible" (HD Widgets) due to the lack of GPS or features that a normal cell phone would have. The only shining points I can mention is that the processor is fast, keyboard has a nice tactile feel and the touch-pad is responsive. If you want to surf the internet while connected to your home wi-fi and not do much else and have a solid 10hrs of battery then this is the product for you. Overall, if I could return the product I would and wait for something better.

This is my first tablet. First off, the set up was really easy if you have used a Android product before. I was able to set up emails and pair with other devices no problems. But I wished it came with a User Guide like my phone did. Right now I am just pushing Icons and sometimes I am going no where. I would prefer the screen not to be so reflective. I could not use it outside. All I could see was myself. Loved the keyboard, it was easy to attach and de-attach. Overall I am satisfied and would recommend to others, I am just waiting for some accessories to be available, a case to project it, something to lay over the screen so I can use it outside, etc.

As a college student, this has been a nearly perfect combination of study, work, and fun. The value of this product comes from getting a very capable Android tablet with a fairly capable netbook, all for less than an iPad by itself: This is a pretty great Android tablet; it's very fast and powerful thanks to that state-of-the-art Tegra 4 processor; even graphics heavy games and apps load and run very quickly without stuttering. This tablet can handle anything and juggle many things at once with 2 GB of RAM. I've noticed no effect on performance with anything less than about 10 apps open. As a netbook, it is limited only by the limits of tablet-optimized apps in the Google Play Store. The built-in file manager is useful, the Box storage is even more so, but the included Kingsoft Office is simply insufficient as a productivity tool for a netbook. Officesuite Pro is available for $15 from the Play Store, though, and it is much more powerful. Other than that this is an upgrade from most other netbooks due to its speed, the notifications center, and the plethora of freely available apps. All that being said, it has its limitations: First and foremost, there is no GPS receiver here, so anything that requires GPS access will not function correctly. That gets in the way every now and then, even for things that don't really require GPS, which is disappointing. The battery life of the tablet by itself is a little bit under average, but with the keyboard dock it's above average. The proprietary charger is, y'know, proprietary, but it does charge up both very fast (the charger plugs into either the base or the tablet). Besides the GPS, the only unmitigated issue is the color balance of the screen, which is a bit yellowish. 95% of the time this really isn't noticeable, but when you're using it outside, it does take on a very yellowish tint which is a little unbearable. Overall, the value you get here comes from having both a very capable tablet and a fairly capable netbook, which is limited far more by software (which can and will improve), rather than hardware. How worthwhile that is to you will depend on what you need a tablet or netbook for. This is neither the best stand-alone tablet available, nor is it a fully functional laptop replacement, but it covers about 90% of the former, and about 75% of the latter.

I got this super early in the mail, and I was thrilled. I unboxed it and started it up, and it started up for the first time in about 30 seconds. Android 4.2.2 is awesome for a transformer tablet, everything is fluid and quick and so easy to manage. The Tegra 4 processor is great, too! The keyboard dock, while it may be a bit smaller than normal keyboards, feels great is is quite comfortable to type with. The gesture support with the trackpad is also wonderful. There are also a bunch of nice little short-cut keys on they keyboard for back, home, recent apps, brightness, and volume, allowing the device to act perfectly as a laptop without losing any of the functionality of the Android tablet. The only things that kind of worry me is I'm not sure if it has as much battery life as I had initially thought, but I really haven't run any tests, so that's not a huge problem as of now. One thing that is mildly concerning is sometimes when the keyboard base runs really low on battery, the tablet will seemingly shut itself on and won't turn on unless I detach the dock and hold the power button to turn it back on. Other than that, everything is great. Great for emulation, web surfing, taking notes, pictures, YouTube, Netflix, music playing. Good job HP. I'm impressed. I'd just like to see my worries somehow addressed.

This is the fastest Android device I have ever used. Changed my idea on Android. Still a ways to go but the Slate made me realize that there is truly hope for Android devices...Great product

Was excited to see HP put 10.1" Android tablet with keyboard on the market. Everything looked great until I got to the part where there is no onboard GPS. I was disappointed when I discovered my new Slate 7 didn't have GPS. Figured HP would have it figured out on this new model... Miss! Major miss... You minimize the market for your otherwise great product.

This is a great tablet however the screen is very hard to see in daylight and gets smudged up way more than average and occasionally smudges will start acting like they are presses on the screen - so the tablet starts going wacky acting like you are pressing it everywhere - which took me awhile to figure out. Overall though it is a fast and fun device and the battery and keyboard and ports alone are worth choosing this over any competitor.

been using the Slate x2 for over 2 months now. very pleased. this has replaced my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. the keyboard feels solid and good. the touchpad is sensitive & accurate. the touch motion is smooth and accurate. the preloaded apps like KingOffice start to really bridge the gap with a Windows device. very satisified and will likely now by one for each of my kids too.

The HP Slatebook x2 has a great screen, displays Web pages fast, and is light weight. Also has very good keyboard, micro SD slot on the tablet and an SD slot on the keyboard. Battery on the tablet last about 8 hours.
