Title says it all. Can' believe the crap they pull, making you register you Printer in order to print. I registered in the beginning but cancelled it because it is a waste of cartridges and unused ink. Even after buying ink from Best Buy, I could not print because the printer was registered. I hate HP, anyone who thought creating a subscription to print needs to be taken out to the field and be given the good "Office Space"

After setting up the printer to communicate with my laptop an home network I can print. However I can't scan from that same printer. It asks to set up software again, but when I follow the set up instructions it states, "printer not found". It's the year 2022; Set up should just be simple, not taking 3 hours and still result in a product that doesn't work.

I trusted and relied on HP printers for over 25 years. I bought two HP4200 printers about 20 years ago that are still working like champ. But the Envy 7640 failed completely not even turn on after giving numerous error messages after 6 years of occasional use. HP Doctor could not diagnosed exact cause of issues and internet search could not clearly identify the cause of problem.

This is a fantastic printer. Prints, copies, scans and you can email documents to it to print.

If you just want this to print documents, it should be fine. but I wanted a printer that could scan sheet music and photos to save on my computer. This is terrible at scanning!

This printer is wonderful when it works. I have spent what feels like half of my lifetime uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for this printer. At least once a week the printer is no longer able to print or scan. I have the latest Win 10 drivers installed. I use the print-scan doctor app to try to fix it to no avail. I have contacted HP repeatedly. NEVER BUY THIS PRINTER!!!!!!!

In general it is an OK printer. It has exactly the features I want and I was very excited to receive it as a gift. However it rarely works the way it should. The wireless connectivity almost never works, so I still have to connect with a cable. The scan from tray feature works about 50% of the time. I can always get it to work, it just may need to be re-started 2-3 times. Outside the major annoyances, it does print well.

It does not function with windows 10 and HP does not have a current driver to work with it. Web site are all error messages.

I bought this printer as a replacement for my HP Photosmart printer. I have always used HP printers for printing photos so even though this wasn't specifically for printing photos, I was assured by the HP tech people that this printer would do just as good of a job printing photos as the Photosmart printer were. Boy were they wrong!!! I am so disappointed with the print quality on the photos that I have printed that I don't even print photos anymore. I am really bummed out that I am stuck with this printer now until it dies.....which I am sure will be a long time since I don't like it. HP needs to stop doing the "all in one" thing and make a printer that is good at photos or I will have to find a different brand.

This printer has been trouble since the day I bought it, I wish I had simply taken it back before the warranty expired. I have only been using it for scanning and emailing documents. It works "occasionally" even though everything is setup correctly. When I can get it to work it generally wont feed all the pages from the autofeeder. This is a rubbish product and I would never buy HP again.

I have not even had this printer a year and it is jamming up. No tech will tell me how to fix it without charing me an arm and a fortune. Do NOT buy this printer!

Really frustrated with this purchase. Simply won't print anything with black ink. Have tried every single troubleshooting step including buying new cartridges twice. And every time i try to get help they simply send me to the "troubleshooting" page online. Spend your money on a different unit.

I have had this little printer for about a month so far and I love it. It is very quiet and is also pretty fast printing documents.

I like the 2-sided print and most other qualities BUT the color print is not as good as my Photo Smart was. Whites are not white.

HP has really made a nice effort to make sure that their current products setup and install easily. I managed to set this printer up to the wireless network (my first time ever!!!) by following the onscreen guidance. Also managed to set up the subscription for the automatic ink refills. Everything is working VERY NICELY so far. Keep up the good work - HP! Way to go!

This is a nice printer if it's what you need but I got talked into it when I was trying to return ink from my old printer. Now I can't figure out how to do some things so it was a waste of money.

Have had this product for a few days now and well can't really give an indepth review because it did not come with the ink cartridges that were supposed to be included, i've been back and forth with HP who keeps telling me that the order for the cartridges is in.. I mean how long does it take for them to send two lousy cartridges and not to be mention i just found out this product is $25 cheaper on amazon..Not pleased with HP right now.

I have used a 1315V for over 10 years, The ENVY is 100 percent faster in printing. The Bluetooth is great. The auto feed is really nice. It scans fast.

This is a great printer for the price. But more often than not the printer is constantly getting jammed or not working properly. The connection to the internet is on and off and printing photos has poor quality. I usually like HP printers but this printer just is not reliable at all.

has even more features than the HP Photosmart printer. This gem has a lever that pops put to catch printed papers n a Usb n card reader on the left side. The only con is sometimes when i send somerhing to print, my compter screen has its printing but notjing is coming out of the printer. A full manual did not come with this printer so I have nothing to reference what the problem is. It seems like the printer went to sleep n the only way I figured to wake it up is to shut it off n then turn it back on, a bit annoying, but it's nowhere near the problems I had with the HP Officejjet 3830!

AMAZING.
By Elizabeth622
We are a homeschool family of 5. I use this printer 5-6 days a week, print 50+ pages a WEEK and have had this printer for almost 2 years.. it is AMAZING. It has been hassle free, convenient, especially with the HP instant ink, which has helped us save a TON of money on ink. So, THANK YOU HP, for making such a wonderful printer that has been amazing since day one. I was not paid or prompted to make such a review, this is coming from an honest to goodness mama who relies heavily on her printer ...

Print, scan, copy and fax photos and documents at home with the wireless-capable HP ENVY 7640 Wireless Color E-All-In-One Inkjet Printer. Print directly from mobile devices and networked PCs to produce highly detailed color images at resolutions up to 4800 x 1200 dpi. The ENVY 7640 can also work quickly with ISO print speeds of 14 ppm in black and 9 ppm in color. Additionally, duplex and borderless printings are possible.
Scanning and copying is possible through the use of the 25-sheet automatic document feeder or 8.5 x 11.7" flatbed. The scan sensor has an optical resolution of 1200 dpi and copies have a resolution up to 600 x 600 dpi. Also, scans can be completed in about 15 seconds. The printer features a 125-sheet input tray for general paper handling as well as a 15-sheet photo tray for printing photos without switching the paper. Adjusting settings and direct printing is easily handled via the 3.5" capacitive LCD touch screen and the printer has a host USB port available. It also has USB 2.0, Ethernet, RJ-11 and Wi-Fi connectivity options.
