Good value, good performance.

I am very happy with the performance of this laptop. I own another HP laptop that has an Intel i-7 processor. This laptop is my first experience with an AMD processor and I am quite pleased with it. I would have given this system five stars if it gave me an option in BIOS setup to automatically turn on the numlock key at start up. The users guide says that the system will retain the last state of the numlock key whenever the system is started. I have not been able to get this function to work. With this one exception, I am very pleased with the price/performance of this system.

Perfect for my use

I bought this laptop to use both at home and on my boat when cruising. It was exceptionaly easy to get started. I really like Windows 8. The interface is fairly intuitive and everything seems to run faster. It connected to my home network easily. The laptop itself has ample ports, a very readable screen and the keyboard is large and featuure rich. I'm very happy with the laptop, Operating system and the price and usual great service I get from HP.

Not the Best for the High Price

It took me HOURS to try and figure out how to get around on this computer. I first had to delete 'NORTON' ( Symantic Corp Program) because it bogged down the computer too much. ALL the automatic updating needed to be turned off. We conserve energy in this house by turning off anything that is not being used. How can I receive, download and install updates if the computer is turned off at 3 a.m.?
