Amazing

Upgraded from HP LaserJet P2055x. Slightly larger built, but comes with two (2) 500 paper trays. Toner is also twice larger, so no need to keep adding papers or changing toner frequently. Also I noticed that P2055x prints slower when I print scanned PDF documents, however this P3015x prints anything consistently faster.

Does the job

I read the other post, and it was understandable that they were frustrated with their machine. Machines can be lemons, that's for sure. I ordered this printer as a network printer for an office, and it became sporadic and inconsistent. After upgrading firmware (after speaking with HP support for hours), it still did not work. After days of deliberating as to the cause of the issue, HP finally sent a refurbished model and it works perfectly now. Bottom line is, when there is outsourced support, you will have to wait and have patience for their policies and procedures. This product does its job, you can't blame the company for making one lemon out of hundreds of thousands of machines.

Great machine for the money!

Generally a great heavy use small office machine. Only drawback is that cosmetically construction, looks as though the parts are not coming together flush.

Very disappointed

When our old network printer died, based on the fact that I had a P2015 on my desktop that has been a work horse, we purchased the P3015 as a network printer for the shop floor. The first one we got smeared toner all over the page so the factory setting had to be adjusted to "High" to keep the toner on the page(we were using a better quality paper because we are a print shop and get a great deal on paper). We returned that one and the second one did the same thing. We decided to keep it anyway but here we are after only having it since April 2010 (it's Sept 3, 2010) and something broke in it already. We called HP and were on the phone 47 minutes to be told that "yes it is broken". Was told to send it in and get a refurbished one from HP (probably a 2 week ordeal), or take it to someone to get fixed (after calling them, all the recommended partners don't do warranty work) or call someone and have them fix it and pay for it. Called the printer repairman that we use and he "superglued" the broken part to keep us in production. The feed roller was not engaging with the feedshaft. The feed shaft lock bushing was broken. He recommended getting a refurbished one or upgrading to another model. That is probably what we will do but we shouldn't have to on a 5month old network printer that we bought because it fit all of our printing needs based on HP's specs.
