HP Blocks 3rd party ink

Starting Nov 2020, this printer no longer accepts my preferred 3rd party brand. The printer cost me 260$, now pack of 4 inks costs 160$. It's non sense.

BUYER BEWARE

Do not buy this product unless you want to spend $200 plus on toner. If you buy 3rd party toner that is affordable, HP will block it on the printer so it cannot be used. Not sure how that is legal but mine is blocked now and I can’t even use it. I will not pay for HP toner when I have perfectly good toner that was working until they sent the new update. I will change all my devices to a new brand. Also, the scanner you can only do one piece of paper at a time. Don’t buy!

Great Features

I bought this printer a couple of months ago and I love it. This was an upgrade because the ink was discontinued for my previous printer. The only downside is that the duplex printing is manual, but since I don't do that much two-sided printing, it was not a deal breaker.

Everything I needed, nothing I didn't want.

It's exactly what I needed, good quality color laser printer, scanner and copier that works over a wireless connection. It also has some great integrations that has made things just a little bit easier and I didn't pay for features I would never use, like being able to send a fax. Printing looks great, I have no complaints with the fuction of the printer

My favorite printer ever

Only used the printer a dozen times and I am very, very impressed with the speed, quality and ease of use, my previous printer's were always inkjet, all in one and never worked as advertised and this time my IT guy at work told me to spend a little more for an inkjet printer and he swore by the HP brand and so he talked me into it and so far I love it.

Nice Printer for home use.

Nice printer for our home use - replaced an inkjet printer we had. The printer is quiet and fast. As with other LaserJet printers, photos are not as sharp, thus the 4 stars.

Difficult to set up wireless printing

The printed instructions were next to nothing. No troubleshooting information whatsoever. The CD did not work in my computer. All it did was search and chatter. Downloading the software from the website was far from intuitive.Once the software was downloaded I kept on receiving errors when I tried to set up the printer. After consulting with my son who is an IT professional we finally got it to work but only after three frustrating hours. The software itself was poorly designed and troubleshooting for the particular errors we were getting was difficult to find. The printer itself works fine but the setup was unnecessary complex.

All the features work as billed. I could help HP redo some of the the instructions however. The only thing I don't need is the fax.

Simple setup, easy to use and kids friendly

I got this last month for home usage for two little ones who have all the creativity in the world. Setup was a breeze, it had wifi and all the gizmos you can expect from a new generation printer. Easy connection to smartphone and tablet via hp app. It prints in a jiffy, quality is great. Scanning and copying features are a must have these days. Definitely recommended to folks with kids at home for all the creative needs.

Recently purchased an HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw online from HP. The experience was exceptional, end-to-end. It was all handled via chat. All of my questions were answered: 1) about the printer, 2) how to dispose of the old printer, 3) how to return and get credit for unopened cartridges for the old printer. The new printer was received within 2 days and the replacement cartridges arrived 3 days later. Within a week, we were "back in business."

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw

The LJ Pro MFP M180nw is a great printer. It works as the info says. I have only one problem,I made my selection to fast,I wanted a complete All-One. This printer do not have a fax. After I got the printer setup I realized I got the wrong printer. It was to late for me send it back and order the one I needed and I already ran out of funds. But outside of that it is a great printer.

Waste of money and time

This is by far the worse experience I have ever had with a printer. I only wish I had returned it when I first had problems, I would have saved myself over a week of troubleshooting over the last year. I would also have had a printer that worked more then occasionally, and only after spending an afternoon updating drivers on a almost bi weekly basis. The best thing I can say about this printer is that I hear other brands make printers that actually work, and have a technical support group. I can not say this emphatically enough - return if bought, do not buy if you are looking

Nice printer, lousy documentation

This is a very good printer for the price. Certainly fast enough for my home needs, very good print quality, even color on plain bond paper, good resolution on the scanner, all seems to work well. My main gripe is with the documentation and arcane procedure for getting started. I discovered only after connecting with a (very helpful) service rep that the reason I could not find the scanner, even using HP's own app, was that my mac defaulted to the built-in driver instead of downloading the most current version from HP. The bare-bones documentation, not the clearest to begin with, does not seem to point out this rather basic fact. A second gripe is that the preferred features app for scanning, etc., called HP Smart app, only works through ethernet or Wifi connections, not USB which I use, so I have to use HP Easy Scan, which is more basic and offers fewer features. Hard to imagine that tweakng the software so it would also work with USB connection could not have been done. So I like the machine, but am not so happy with product implementation. Ergo, only 4 stars.

Love my new printer

I did the research and read the reviews before I made my purchase. It arrived a couple days after I placed my order. The set-up stumped me for about 45 minutes, then I figured out what i was doing wrong. The set-up instructions could stand to be a little clearer. Once I got the software installed and wireless working, prints great.

Great all in one printer!

Bought this for my wife to use in her office. She loves it! She was wanting inexpensive all in one unit that is economical to use and has the features she wanted. So far, so good. Ordered the unit directly from HP and had it delivered in just a few days. HP quality delivers!

Oversized considering that it doesn't offer auto duplexing. Took me 3 times downloading the software before I was able to print a test page. Not impressed with this one HP.

Setup was a hastle, after that working fine

The Pro MFP M180nw printer has great reviews across many sites. I will only give it 4 stars because the setup CD that came with the printer should not be used until Windows 10 updates are applied after plugging it. other than the setup issue the scanner is fast and crisp. The printer produces quality results

Great printer!

I ordered this printer online (with some help from a Chat agent, Amelia). Although Amelia gave me the dimensions of the printer, I really didn't know how compact it was for a color toner printer until I had it in my home. The ease of setup was outstanding and toner cartridges were already installed so I didn't have to mess with them.

Runs like a professional office machine

We have only had this Color LaserJet printer for a week, but as Teachers we create numerous kinds of documents and this machine has worked faster, quieter and with better quality than any other home printer we have had over the past 15years. Just wish this specific printer at this price could do auto 2-sided printing....

Great product.

By BrittneyC217851

I done a study on the LaserJet Pro and to my findings the initial assembly there wasn`t anything.Pretty much came all together just had to attach the cord to it and into the wall. The hardest part I had using it was setting up internet connection. I do a lot of printing from my phone so it was initially hard for me trying to get that to work. Product could use a little bit better instructions on how to connect to the wifi if you`re not real Savvy with new technology. I do a lot of picture pri...
