Any time a company bricks your printer ink with a firmware update to keep you from using ink cartridges that were fully compatible and caused no issues, you know you've got yourself a pretty terrible company that can't stand on the quality or affordability of their products.

I bought this printer less than a year ago and it doesn't work properly anymore. It creases my paper and prints a line down the middle of the page. HP doesn't offer any kind of helpful support and claims that my warranty has already expired. I will never buy another HP product again.

I have had this product for about a year and the besides for the difficulties with the single feed tray rarely working, the rollers not picking up paper from the tray, and the constant querying of "what size paper in the drawer" every time I add them same paper to the drawer, I would have to say my biggest complaint is the poor toner life. Contrary to the listed "1400 pages for black / 1300 page for colors" what I actually got was 400 pages for black and 300 pages for cyan (might get 400 for magenta and yellow). The replacement toners (for 4) cost $300 bucks (i.e. more than the printer w/toner in it). They got me, don't let them get you (this junk is going straight to the landfill).

The printer was working perfectly fine. After an update, the printer indicated a memory error on the cartridge. Tried it again with a brand new cartridge (which I ordered together) and the error didn't walk away. Ended up losing an important appointment as I couldn't print my documents (last minute) during the lockdown. I wish if I never updated the printer.

I have owned many printers over the years and have never owned a printer as frustrating as this one. The printer driver is a disaster and often confuses paper sizes, and has printed up to 20 extra sheets of projects. When you try to cancel projects either from the computer or the printer itself, it can take up to 5 full minutes to cancel. The printer hardly holds any paper, and upon reloading the paper supply, it takes FOREVER for the printer to initialize/clean/cool down etc. The printer also constantly displays a "paper jam" error message when there is definitely no paper jam. The issues began as soon as I took it out of the box so it has not been an issue with user error. I have had multiple support calls with HP and they keep you on the phone for sometimes over two hours while they install multiple drivers on your computer to try and resolve the issue. After contacting HP multiple times, I have yet to have any one of my issues resolved. Take my word for it and go with another brand.

Bought it because it had good reviews, and all we needed was a solid printer. However, a HUGE piece of junk. Has created arguments in the house, endless frustration, and would only feel fairly compensated if HP wrote me a check to burn this thing! Was a loyal HP printer user, however time to move on.

4.5 stars. I've been using HP since way back. I've gone to a few others in current years but missed HP's quality & its intuitiveness/ease of use. THIS IS A GREAT PRINTER especially at this price point! I'm disappointed I see it's discontinued now? I love the speed & Built-in DUPLEX as my old HP I paid for the additional piece to add on to do that. I agree with 1 person in this is a little louder than expected when printing but not a deal breaker for me as I'm not printing hours at a time. I have had some issues with wifi printing but since an update that finally happened- no issues! And labels work well as long as I select that media (labels) in my software when launching printing. PLEASE CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THIS PRINTER and I will continue to buy HP toner only! I have zero desire to buy generic toner as I want to support the company's great products. Love you HP. xxoo

I've had this printer for about 2 weeks now, and I could not be happier. It prints very quickly, very clearly and it's everything I could want in a printer for home. The only negative point I could see about it is it is a little louder than I thought it would be. And that's probably just on me.

The few prints I have done are great. Very nice color and clarity. Very heavy, to my surprise, but I am used to ink jets. Cartridges seem to have a LOT of pages, but the replacements are going to be more than the printer. Don't know if the supplied ones are full as are the replacement ones. I did direct connect via USB, as I did not have access to cabled Ethernet, so I can't comment on that. Double sided printing requires printing even sequence, then put the pages back into the tray and resume. Didn't expect that.

No scanner, no ability to make a copy of something= big waste of money. Ran out of ink very quickly and new black toner cartridge was over $100.

I bought an HP Color Laser Jet Pro several years ago and have been more than happy with it. Now, at another location, I decided I needed the product. What I received not only produces the quality prints I was accustomed to with my older printer, it has a few additional features (e.g., WiFi connectivity) that I appreciate. BTW, at the current location I also have a rather old (ca 20 years) monochrome HP Laser Jet that works wonderfully after all these years, so much so, that I am reluctant to replace it. So, I keep them both side by side.

I purchased this printer about a week ago to enhance my home office and support my children's schoolwork. We are now printing lots of worksheets given the Coronavirus situation. It works great! Easy to set up - have been able to connect it wireless to my laptop. It definitely will do the job - my inkjet would not have stood a chance. Do note that it is heavy (as is expected) and probably needs a proper stand or desk space. We haven't solved that problem yet!

I bought this because it was rated one of the best color lasers in the price range, the best overall was a Brother printer. I have traditionally viewed HP as premium, given their pricing, so I opted to spend a little more. Bought it direct from HP. It was dead on arrival with error code 59.C0. Spent several hours with their customer support. Ultimately, their solution was to send me a replacement but I would have to pay for expedited shipping even though it was their problem that the product didn't work.

When I upgraded the operating system on my new Mac, I couldn't use my older HP printer and this was the one that was recommended. It was inexpensive, easy to set up, and does full color printing if necessary -- and the toner cartridges are not too expensive. It's quiet and fast. I'm very pleased with it.

Purchased the M254dw to produce marketing materials like brochures and post cards for our customers and potential customers. We have had quality problems with local print shops, and wanted more control. This printer is definitely doing the job.

We bought this printer a couple of weeks ago and the set-up was easy, but the printer keeps forgetting our network password. We end up having to fiddle with it for 15-30 minutes, trying to clear the print dialogue on our computer, putting the network password into the printer, etc. It seems like the printer is leaving the network when idle. It's happened more than once, and it's a big inconvenience. Other than this issue, it prints well and quickly when back on the network.

We have had an HP LaserJet cp1025n for seven years and have been very pleased. However recently we had a small issue with print quality. After a great experience with one of the helpful techs at HP, it was determined to have a hardware problem. The helpful tech suggested we upgrade to the m254dw. Even though it was in the final days before Christmas, the printer arrived 2 days early. We have been very happy with the ease of setup and operation of the new printer. Thanks HP for great products and helpful tech service!

Just arrived, magenta cartridge registration is off. Went through several steps with support, they are sending a new cartridge. Frustrating, needed this for a project and still don’t know if the new cartridge will address the issue.
