Good printer when it doesn't go to sleep

Overall a good machine but a couple of issues. First, it goes to sleep periodically and the only way to wake it up is to unplug it for 30 seconds, very inconvenient. The second problem is more inconvenient. I got a new laptop and when I tried to download the printer drivers, the full driver set was not available on the HP website. It has been six weeks and they are still not there. This means that I cannot tak advantage of many of the features of the printer!! Not pleased.

Printer is good but not worth the money it cost

Printer has some good features but has problems communicating with some older software programs

Don't buy this if you have an ASUS router!

The minute this printer connects to an ASUS router, WIFI or Ethernet...it dies. 3 different model ASUS routers, latest firmware - including the AC-87U, and it doesn't work with any of them. HP has sent me a replacement - and the same thing happens. Almost 30 other devices on the network, and none of them have a problem.

Low ink usage

Finally, an ink-jet printer that isn't so thirsty. My previous MFP burned through ink-jet cartridges, and this model is much more efficient. Now, if only the printer had a manual tray feed, it would be perfect. In order to print one-sheet labels, you have to pull out the paper tray and push it completely in after loaded. I do a lot of one-shot labels, and so I do find this to be troublesome sometimes. Also, would be great if it could handle legal size documents, but it doesn't seem to be able to do that at all. It's a bit pricey, but well worth the cost not to have to buy countless ink-jet cartridges.

Printer Driver has problems

My computer runs Windows8 Ultimate 64-bit and I downloaded the latest driver from the HP web site. When printing a document of more than a few pages (my examples run 8 to 39), the driver errors out after about 7 pages. Trying to print duplex is just as bad. When you set the pages order to "front-to-back' it doesn't stick. I've started using the 8600 case driver. It works except , but cuts off the top of the Header text.

Does what it says - Easy Operation

Easy Set up, Mac compatible then some, seriously easy feature settings & set up. Separate ink cartridges - good feature for me.

Failed after 10 pages

I purchased this printer from hp's online store. The setup went smoothly, and I was able to print scan and email from my iPhone, ipad and Macbook Pro. The unit had a paper jam on its first duplex page, which cleared easily. The unit, however, would not clear itself of the "paper jam" message. After initiating an online chat with hp's support, during which the agent had me try two, brief reset procedures, I was instructed that the unit would have to be returned for service. That "chat" took 65 minutes! I have had this printer for two days, and have printed 9 pages. I will be returning this unit for a refund, as I have no interest in exchanging a two day old one for a refurb.
