I bought this multi-function printer because my previous HP seemed to "lose" connection for scanning to email all the time. This one started out working, now it will not scan to email because it says the "network connection is down, please try again later." You can try until the cows come home but it won't send to email like it used to no matter what I do. I've checked the network, it's fine and communicates from computer to printer. But printer won't send. It won't even scan to a thumb drive now for some reason. I've had to resort to using my phone for scans. This is unacceptable. I've tried the help files, and online assistance. I would steer clear of this printer if you need it to scan. I'm one of many with same complaint and no helpful advice, software or firmware fixes or offers of troubleshooting ideas that might fix it. A very frustrating situation with an otherwise good printer. It just isn't a good multi-function machine...

We bought two of these one as the front desk printer and one as a private office printer. Both failed with an error that said turn printer off then on. We contacted support and they said the printers are out of coverage. The printer in the private office lasted about 4 months longer but had less than weekly use over the two years.

Love machine. it is what everyone reviews about except that it will not copy or scan legal sizes. I have reached out to the forums, help centers with no resolution.

I do loan closings and close approximately 20 real estate loans per week. Each closing averages 150 to 180 pages and I must print two copies of each package. Its great to download and print a package in 10 minutes. Frequently I have to fax back 30 to 40 pages. Have had the printer for two months and question why I did not switch sooner. Life is much easier now.

We recently replaced our trouble prone Sales Office printer with the HP and ALL the staff is quite impressed. A very intuitive user interface and of course the unbelievable speed. Most use Office Mode with a REAL 72 pages per minute. Crazy fast. Cost per page is also quite good. And Tech Support is some of the best.

Love this printer, it's fast, scanning works well to a network drive or USB, menu option/guidance is intuitive. We have printed regularly over the past 2-3 months, and ink is still more than 3/4 on black, and even more on the colors. Only draw back is limited memory (786MB), which doesn't seem to be expandable - one would expect that users are given the option to expand, or that the printer is equipped to handle large print jobs (I had a 51 page PDF that I wasn't able to print in one go due to running out of memory)

I have 2 of these. One of them gets more use then the other. Everything is working fine with one. After about 2 months with the 2nd one I have a strange problem. When I use the ADF to copy or scan to email or scan to PDF when I get to the last page of the document it still thinks there are more pages to scan? It things there is a feed problem and it fails on the entire scan? It does not just ask me if I want to stop and use the pages that were scanned. Now when I use it to scan to PDF or scan to EMAIL and there are more then 1 page, I dont use the ADF , I lift the lid and put the pages in one at a time. I cant afford to waist trying to use the feeder wondering if its going to work. I have used a can of AIR to clean the feeder and it did not do any good. The other one we have works fine and does not give that error. I am thinking about switching them. if anyone knows why im having this problem please post a review telling me what to do. If I figure out the problem I would give these 5 STARS! thanks...

This is an unbelievable price for this printer!. My printer was brand new, lightning fast, easy to install, with great print quality. I received the printer in only 2 days. It is heavy and requires two people to lift. It works great as a wireless printer if you have a wireless network. Ink is expensive.

We publish a newsletter and visit clients with a "handout" consisting of maybe 40-50 charts and graphs. Frankly, I was skeptical that an ink jet printer could meet our quality requirements, but I need not have worried. The output,in terms of color accuracy and sharpness, is excellent. Copy/print speed is lightning fast, and the print cartridges last forever. It also does excellent scans, and, even though it is ink jet, duplex copies have no show through. I wouldn't have tried this machine but for the free shipping and returns. Thank you. HP. Great product.

I recently upgraded to HP's X576dw Officejet Pro, from a five year old Officejet 7780. This multifunction printer is much faster. Two sided printing is simplified. It even fit in the same space as the old printer, without modifications. Multipage scanning is improved too, with fewer paper jams. While it is pricey, it is well worth the extra dinero. I would recommend this printer to anyone with serious printing and copying requirements.

I didn't realize what I was missing until I bought this printer. It gets the job done so much more quickly, with less ink. When I think of all the time and trouble (and ink cartridges) I used to spend... Why didn't I buy this printer sooner for my home office? Holds a lot more paper, too. Only downside I've found so far is that its taller than my old printer, but it still fits on top of my desktop metal stand. (I elevate it so I can store paper beneath.) I haven't had the time to figure out how to scan directly from the printer yet, because I've been so busy; but its been scanning and printing just fine over WiFi from my laptop. NOTE: I did google the Apple/Macbook instructions for installing the printer first. I do not have a CD Rom Drive in my laptop, so had to get the printer up and running completely over WiFi; and following the google'd instructions for my Apple computer, everything installed seamlessly, with no problems.

This is by far the best printer of all manufactures to date. I am absolutely blown away by the speed, not only of printing, but scanning as well. The ink economy is unmatched by any other printer I have owned in the past 30 years. And yes, it does out perform laser printers too. I like this printer so much, I purchased one for my home office and have recommended it to a business associate who immediately purchased it. He too is very happy with the Hp Officejet Pro X576dw Multifunction Printer.

I love this printer and it is complicated but now that I have used it I am more able to understand what it can do. I do not use a fax at the moment so it has a few too many capabilities but hey, you never know when I may need to use a fax! There is a problem with setting it up to my company email system so I use the scan to folder instead of scan to email which is not ideal but it does work---would rather be able to scan to my own email so I have a record there for my business records....Very high quality photo print-outs and that is my priority!

This seems to be a fine printer. However, the first two we ordered broke within a week of shipping. Both printers suffered from similar issues. To save time and money, we simply exchanged these faulty printers for new products of the same model. Our two replacement printers have worked fine. However, with our history with this product, we can't help but wait for them to break.

Overall, a pretty good printer. It's fast, print quality is good, it's quiet, and uses less power than my laser printer. I'm using the latest firmware (April 2014) but still occasionally experience a printer error where all the panel lights flash. Easy to fix by powering down and restarting. I recently tried to scan photos and found I could only set the resolution to 600 dpi. After trying all the options I could think of, I called HP tech support to find out why I could only set the resolution to 600 when the printer is advertised to be capable of 1200 x 1200 dpi. After first being told my printer is defective since I could only go to 600 dpi, a third person, who was to setup a replacement printer shipment told me the datasheet and other places where 1200 x 1200 dpi was reference were wrong. He said the printer really can only scan at 600 x 600. This is not just half the resolution of 1200 x1200 but one fourth the resolution. Strange that after all this time, no one has found this misrepresentation in the printer's specification. I suppose it's because the printer's main claim is in its speed. Unfortunately, I bought this as an MFP and really need the scan resolution. I wish there would be a fix for the resolution but I suspect the printer was not able to meet the 1200 dpi spec during its design and the datasheet wasn't updated to reflect the lower scan resolution. I may return the printer and find one that can scan and print for what I need.

I have had this printer for approximately two months. It is worth paying a little more for the savings in printing costs per page over the live of the printer. The double sided printing and wireless printing is also a plus. I have owned many HP printers over the years and this is the best one yet. I was considering buying the Laser Color printers but the higher cost to print per page made this purchase an easier choice. This printer also is much faster than the other Color Laser printers I reviewed. This printer is not cheap but you get what you pay for. I believe this printer is worth the extra money, and I don;t need to keep a second printer to help save color laser cartridges if I had opted to purchase the laser printer. The printing quality is great on even the cheapest papers from Costco.

The printer arrived faster than expected, which was a plus. Setup was very easy and the print speed is awesome! We are very pleased with the printer!

Although this machine's copy/print functions are great, there are issues with both the facsimile function and (now) the scan function. After being unable to get the facsimile to work (out of the box), I hired a tech person to come to my office to troubleshoot the facsimile function. He did so along with HP tech support on a conference call. After a substantial amount of time, they jointly reached the conclusion that the facsimile could not function through the digital cable telephone line provided by COX and that I needed to switch to an separately designated analogue line. Such a conclusion means that if a purchaser uses digital phone lines the purchaser will be required to switch carriers to a non-digital company and thereby designate one line solely for a facsimile. In regard to the scanner, it worked well; however, yesterday, I updated Windows 8 to 8.1 and now the scanner does not work.

I have one of the smaller versions of the OfficeJet Pros and the 576dw blows it out of the water! I needed a faster scanner to go along with speedy printing/copying. Not only are these functions much faster, the black printer cartridge is lasting MUCH longer than with the smaller printer. Have not had a paper jam. No problems whatsoever. Networked without a hitch. If you are able to pay the extra, it is worth the money ten-fold.

I was a bit apprehensive about going from a LaserJet to an InkJet, but the print quality and the SPEED of this printer blew me away!!! It is truly 2x faster than any LaserJet I have seen and the print quality is pretty darn good as well. If you are looking for speed and good print....this is the printer for you. I can not say enough about the speed!!!!
