If I could give this printer 0 stars I would. I have 2 of them, and they both have never worked correctly, constantly print fine one day and then say "printer head is missing" the next. If you want to try to fix your printerhead, good luck! You need a very specific tool to get the screws off, because HP wants you to spend your money getting these piles of plastic garbage fixed. And even after it's been "fixed" it does it over and over again. Do not buy.

Finally blew off the dust. Rarely used it because it was so slow. Checking Printer. This may take several minutes. Also eats full cartridges constantly. Print one item and then it says replace printheads. So bad.

I bought this printer in the Fall of 2014. I wanted a wide-format printer that would do a good job on large format photos. This printer does that and more BUT, it has turned out to be a royal pain in the petuzzy. I don't print that often, so the printer might sit for weeks. Upon start up, it then goes through a lengthy head-cleaning, auto-adjustment sequence that can take 7-10 minutes. That, and the fact that the cartridges will dry up. That's not HP's fault per se, but I've run lots of cartridges through this machine that theoretically should have been useable. Oh, and don't even think about after-market cartridges: The machine will fail to start and be unusable. The last straw was today. I needed ONE print. It has NEW cartridges, genuine HP. It would not print cyan. No amount of recleaning (all THREE LEVELS) nor head realignment can fix this. I'm done with HP. My first inkjet printer was an HP. From the era when you had to switch between three color, or Black and white, no four color printing. Yeah, 1992. No more. I'm tired of HP and won't upgrade to a new HP. Sorry, just the way it is. Too expensive to run and inconsistent performance.

I?m constantly designing posters and pages for magazines and newspapers and needed a printer that ran full color 11x17 pages. This one has proven to be the best solution I?ve found. I also enjoy the large scanner. It?s made my life oh so much easier. The copy and fax features have. One in handy more times than I can mention. The wireless connectivity has made my office neater as I can have this unit in my office closet and out of view of clients. Ink is easy to change and print speed is great.

I bought this printer and left it brand new in the box with all packaging for 5 years. And, when my IT guy opened it and attempted to connect it and set it up, the print setup could not be done. The print head can't be replaced and the setup cartridges are no longer available. Be warned. If you don't open and setup your printer in the first year, it WILL NOT WORK if it is an HP. In addition, they admitted that these products are not intended to last more than 4 years.

So unbelievably bad, I wasn't planning on writing a review because I figured I just got a cursed unit or something. Cannot scan more than a few pages before disconnecting from computer. Cannot print b/w unless all cartridges are full (it seems to deplete over time even without use). Cannot print unless the exact right paper. Too thin and it cannot function. Now it wont stop glitching on the scan. I got it as a gift and didn't even want this giant dumb printer. I tried to return it, but the shipping would have costed hundreds, its so heavy and large.

I love this wide format printer. I can print my music sheets on 13 x 19 and its wonderful for eyes that have a hard time on small sheets. This printer is easy to work, prints quick and quiet and has a reasonable footprint for any home or small biz office.

Worked flawlessly for the 1 year it had a warranty for, then the problems started appearing - first print problems (inks blotching, color inks coming out muddy and/or blurry, etc), then the scan problems (2-pass scans - anything above A4 - came out with a serious overlap/seam in the middle and threw errors around like there is no tomorrow, needing a hard reset after every scan). Currently, my unit is 2 years old and I think I need to replace it, because none of the solutions proposed by HP work.

Bought this a couple years ago and then one day it just decides that it wants to quit on me. The error message it displayed "printhead is missing". doing a little research I learned that HP will not support this and that the entire printer should be thrown away. I have owned HP printers for over 20yrs, until now. I will no longer purchase a product that a company will not support.

So, I had to take the plunge for the second time into wireless printing. It seems that I cannot scan more than 5 pages at a time, because the scanner disengages. So I set up the wireless again. It did my 6 page scan. Now, I cannot print. I cannot print with it wirelessly, so I disengaged all of those options and plugged it back in. I've been at this for 45 minutes trying to print 2 shipping labels because it's the holidays and people are trying to BUY things from me. Can't send them today...hope I can get this worked out in time to ship tomorrow, or I must cancel orders. This is the 4th HP printer I have owned. I deliberately went with the larger scanning bed to scan larger documents that I want to preserve. That really IS the only thing it is good for. As a day to day printer, it is unreliable. Sometimes, it takes forever to find it's connections, and then, sometimes it shuts down in the middle of the queue, as if it needs to rest and have a cocktail before it will finish my multiple documents. (I'm also a realtor) Can't say that I will ever buy another HP product. Don't even get me started on the ink/toner issues that dictate I must have yellow "toner" to print a black and white page. Ridiculous.

I bought this printer and I am not happy with it. It needs the other colors in order to print black! My color cartridges got depleted just by printing black.

I am disappointing that this printer, which I LOVE had a life span of about 3.5 years for a purchase price of nearly $200.00. Not to mention the ink I have left that I can not use. Printhead missing . . . NO it is not. I tried all the fixes that did not fix it. Website trouble shooting help was no help. I may consider keeping it just for the 11x17" scanner that still works which was it's original selling feature for me. I am saying yes to recommend this product to a friend with the warning that it will break down when you need it the most.

I am forced to replace the color ink cartridges twice a year even though I only print in color once or twice a year very small projects. HP you have designed a printer that no person would care for. I will not be buying an HP printer ever again and I have been faithful to HP desktops printers etc for a very long time.

Absolutely the most frustrating piece of hardware I have ever owned. It is unchristian how much I despise this product. Connects to computer maybe 10% of the time. Otherwise, constant issues with imaginary paper jams.

I hate this printer, so much so that i'll take the time to write a review about it. -runs out of ink prematurely, refuses to print unless all cartridges are full -takes 5-10 mins to prepare itself every time printing is needed....hope you're not in a hurry -squeaky

This has been the absolute worst printer I have had the displeasure of owning. It has been a nightmare trying to keep it on line, ink supplied and other issues. This was the 6th or 7th hp printer and the last one ever for me. I don't know where HP went wrong, but they did so big time. Good Bye HP

Had this printer for 2 years. Had it replaced by HP once because prints were coming out skewed, same with scans. Replacement printer does the same thing. So our only option is to buy another printer. We needed this strictly for the 11x17 format. Not a lot of choices unless you want to spend thousands. Try copying one sheet of 11 x 17 to another 11 x 17, I timed it, it takes a full minute. We also didn't need the colour but mono was not offered. You can turn off printing in colour but HP told us that it still uses a bit of colour to print black. So you are forced to replace colour ink cartridges on a regular basis even though you don't print in colour. Gets too expensive in my opinion. Overall I would have expected far better from an HP product. My skewed prints do not look professional at all. Will be looking for another brand when we end up replacing this one.

I've owned pretty much nothing but HP printers my whole career in IT. This one, however, has been the absolute worst printer I have ever owned. Customer support has spent several hours on multiple occasions remotely logged into my computer (I run Windows 10) trying to get the printer to print consistently, to no avail. After screwing up all kinds of other things on my computer by stopping and disabling services and other processes, they pretty much gave up. I could scan, but couldn't print. Then I could print and couldn't scan. I completely uninstalled the management software. They gave me some rogue program that will scan and save to my computer. I finally figured out that whenever I reboot or the network restarts, I can just go into the device setup and get it working again by manually changing the IP address of the print port. Oh, and yeah, with the WRONG printer port set, it will still scan. Well sometimes. At least I no longer have to completely re-install the drivers every time there's a reboot or network restart. And then it's the ticky tack stuff. Just today, I was trying to print some Christmas labels really quickly. "You have to install a new Cyan cartridge." OK, I did that, it jerked around for a few minutes. Then I went to print again. "You have to install a new Yellow cartridge." Wow. Couldn't you have just told me to install both to start with. Oh, never mind. After a few minutes of that when I tried to print again, "You have to install a new Red cartridge". Wow. So after 20 minutes of screwing around with this--I just want to print a page for the love of all humanity--now it has just been sitting there the whole time I've been typing this saying "Now Printing". So, I'll reboot the printer AGAIN, probably have to reboot my computer AGAIN. The gift that keeps on giving. I may take the sledgehammer to this thing when I save up enough to buy a printer that works. Sorry HP, I'm done with you.

I've only had the printer for a couple weeks, and so far it works very good. The connection with my tablet is not very consistent, but from my Windows 10 laptop all the features are immediately available and work great. It was very quick to setup also.

Prints from computer, phone and tablet. It is a bit larger than I thought that it would be, that's why 4 stars. Excellent customer service, I will always buy HP based on this experience.

I needed a large format scanner printer and this was on sale at HP.com so I took a chance. Not only does the scanner work great, but it pulls the paper in straight so the scans aren't crooked. Only "complaint" is that I have to flip over pile of docs to scan the other side for two sided scanning. Print quality is typical HP - excellent. Setup was a snap and scanning software is excellent. After one month of use, I'm very pleased. Outstanding value so grab one on sale if you can. (I paid $150 with free shipping.)

Love this printer with the exception: My printer heads went up and the printer is less than 2 years old. Have to replace. HP not putting in the quality that it use to. Been owner of HP Products for years and now thinking about going to another brand.

Tryed for a Year to get HP to upgrade this Machine to work with windows 10 wirelessly with all the features and had to stay with Windows 7 to get wireless results. USB conections work fine with Windows 10 but limits the number of computers you can connect to It. When I called for support, they would have me download the software for an older "Deskjet" but it did nor cover any of the "Wide Format Paper sizes". Inks need to be XL if you want to print A3 orA4 sizes because the regular cartriges just are too small for the 13"X19" photo paper. It does do great photos when there is enough ink but for this size, HP should have used bigger Cartriges that stored more ink. The printer will let you know when the cartriges do not have enough ink to do the larger sized print jobs, But, if you swap them out for new ones, you waste the ink that is left and when you re-install the partially filled cartriges, it just gives you an "Unknown " for ink levels. The bigest complaint is lack of HP service or information on this machine. I have used HP printers for Photo Printing for 14 years and have owned over 30 HP Photosmart printers and since HP stopped producing Photosmart Printers, the Office Jets just fall short of the ease of having multiple photo trays and Great photo enhancement software.

I needed a scanner that could handle my 11x14 autographed photos that I wanted to upload for sale on eBay. Instead of having to use my iPhone's camera and spend 45 minutes trying to make everything look like the original, now with one touch I have a perfect scan of my photo that needs no adjustments. I've even scanned 8x10 photos and then printed them out to an enlarged size of 13x19, and they look as good as the originals. I love this machine. It's big, a little noisy, goes through ink a little fast, but I don't care! This is the printer I've dreamed of, and I got it on sale to boot!

Absolutely love the speed this all-in-one printer. We have not use all the features on it yet, and they never use them all. I mainly use it for printing and a little bit of copying. But the color is good the food is good. The only thing I have noticed so far is the tray that holds the blank paper is a little stiff and doesn't slide very easily when trying to close it back up. Otherwise I have no complaints as of yet

I bought this printer about six weeks ago for my office. I was really impressed because it is able to print tabloid size paper all the way to the edge and the print quality is pretty good, so I was very pleased and excited with the printer. However, I don't use the printer on a daily basis, primarily I wanted to be able to use it when I had something large to print. I have had to change the ink cartridges three times already, at a cost of around $77 each time. I just changed them this afternoon, literally printed 10 (TEN) pages and the cyan is out of ink already. Now to be fair I was printing a lot of coverage, but mostly in black, so it should be using more black than cyan and again it was only 10 pages. This comes out to be over $7 per page. Completely unacceptable.

Great solution! - Got a second one too!

Great solution got a second one just in case they discontinue this fine model. Reasonable extended warranties are available though HP too. It is nice to have one at the workstation upstairs and one downstairs. Yes - perfect 11x17 scans! beats the heck out of trying to scan something in parts and join them together in software. Who would have thought they went on sale for only $150 on black Friday. This unit is the same it seems as the 7610 but includes a FREE duplexer - yes saves paper and fo...
