I love this smaller-sized all-in-one printer! Very easy set-up, nicely designed, doesn't get in the way, prints wirelessly from my computer or phone. HP makes the best printers, I think, and this is the best I've had so far. HIghly recommended.

Black cartridge provided was defective. Spent an hour with tech support and waiting 2 days to print in black. The printer will not properly print color pictures. They print gray. I gave up after 3 tries via an iMac.

This HP officejet is an excellent purchase for the office need. WIth the 1TB hard-drive that can be detached is a plus. Adorama made the purchase and delivery time flawless. Definitely a good purchase and a good company to order from.

Easy to install. Have not fully focused on how to get the wireless to work yet. It does suck ink as all do. Ink can be expensive. It does print fast and holds a good amount of paper. Make sure your computer is not too old to install the proper drivers. They dont go back very far to support older computers. If your computer is new - should be no problem.

Our last HP all-in-one did the printing for our teaching and family paperwork, and it was fine. This new Officejet 8040 is faster, prints sharper, holds more paper, scans more accurately, and takes up less space on the desk. The copier function is more spry and gives great results in BW or color. My family and I fully expect to get a lot of work out of this new printer, and it shows every indication that it's ready for the challenge.

HP's 8040 with Neat™ is a 5 function office machine making it versatile, if all functions accually work well. I've used all but the FAX function just about no one does any more and I can say they do function well. The ink empties rather quickly for my taste, but with HP's new ink plan reducing the cost somewhat, I'll wait a bit before making any more comments about the ink. It came with a terabyte hard drive to mirror scans and files stored in Neat's™ cloud, I think is unique to small desktop printers. Its best feature, in my opinion, is it has it's own email address making possible printing and storing from anywhere in the world the WEB and telephones reside with any device smart enough to take advantage of this printer, scanner, copier, FAX, and digital storage.

The entire experience was extremely satisfying and deserves 5 stars to Adorama and HP. We were mainly looking for all in one printer { print, fax, scan, copy) to replace our 10 year old printer (HP All in one 500 series) which was very economical (needed just two cartridges). We were looking similar product which is economical on cartridge.

With the price, I have to give it the 4 stars, but in reality if you pay anywhere near the retail, this drops down to 2 - 2 1/2. HP has always struggled with their wireless all in ones. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Always issue with connectivity over wifi and with the shared storage (attached or otherwise). Re-install the software and it works OK for a while, then same thing again. But the truth is I do like it and for the price, I'll give it 4 stars, but it should be a 3 1/2. Thanks for reading

All around great printer I purchased this for its software and the one terabyte hard drive. I like the quality of printing I also enjoy the software interface for the neat software. Remote printing has come in very handy as well as the ability to scan from a mobile device into the neat software. The prices for the ink cartridges are reasonable for both the extended capacity and the standard.

I received this printer defective out of the box. The Ink Carriage kept getting a Jamming Error. HP was challenging in getting support on a return. Adorama was great with a seamless hassle free return.

Small business owners and college students at any stage of college. Myself being a graduate student at a college of pharmacy it is extremely important to have a printer that is reliable, wifi cable, a scanner and is able to duplex print. This printer is all of that an more!! Set up was a breeze and I love the newest ink features with this printer so I will now never run out of ink the night before a project or paper deadline. Photo quality was excellent too but I had low standards with it being an ink jet printer. AdoramaPix gets all of my photography business prints! Highly recommend this product for anyone and everyone! After switching from an all-in-one 6670 which is pretty large, it was nice to have about the same performance in the 8040 with less bulk. Of course, with the smaller footprint comes a smaller paper bin. Printing is quick and colors are pretty good.

The HP Officejet 8040 was a snap to set up; the wireless connection to my 8-year-old iMac took only a few seconds. Print quality is excellent in both black and white and in color. Have not yet used the fax, copy, or scan functions, but I would expect those are excellent, as well.

I would never recommend this printer, for one thing NEAT is totally worthless except for an occasional business card. You can scan a bank document, with WellFargo on it, with "Bank Statement" on it, and it can't read it and file it in finance or banking or whatever...totally worthless. And while the printer is in standby mode, it has a constant highpitch faxing sound coming from the unit. I will never buy HP again

This printer works great out of the box. Setup was painless. It is fast as well. But now it is a pain. Does not matter if the printer is connected to the router wirelessly or wired. It looses connection with the server and needs to be wiped out and reinstalled every couple weeks. I can print from my iphone without issue but can scan to email from the machine. Even worse, I look up the warranty and it shows expired one month before I purchased it new from the store.
