After long period of time i completely fed-up with this HP 8720. Only because HP betrayed me by exchanging a fault printer.

The HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 all in one is excellent. Bought three years ago in 2019 for home office and it offers all the features you need. Among the features: double sided printing, standard, legal or custom paper size, scan from feeder; color or black & white print, this is best printer I have had. Love the touch screen settings and can always see status of each ink cartridge. Many options. Also have an HP laser B&W P2005dn printer for high volume B&W printing but the 8720 is my go to for most things. Overall, the 8720 is the best all-in-one printer I have owned and would highy recommend if you are looking for versatility, reliability and high quality printing.

I just put paper in my 8720 and remarked to myself quietly that this printer has never failed me. It also has the best combination of software/hardware of any inkjet I've owned over the years. I'm 67 and have owned many. I like having the quasi-effortless capability of scanning and sending a PDF to my iMac (via the HP document feeder) w/out making adjustments to contrast, levels, etc. It arrives in my iMac “exposed” properly time-after-time. Printing is fast, accurate, clean and meets my needs. Scanning via the document feeder is consistent and w/out issue. No jams, hiccups or unwanted paper feed issues. The touch panel is large and feature-rich. But the most important point is that this printer has never failed me. I wasn’t always an HP inkjet fan. Certainly not in the early days. Today I wouldn’t own anything else. It’s perfect for my business, where reliability and good quality are essential.

I’ve always been an hp printer fan but this is one I absolutely hate. Printing on plain paper is fine but I have feed issues and lines halfway through photo prints everytime I’m attempting to print on any type of photo paper or cardstock. It’s terrible. I absolutely miss my Officejet 7612. That was the best printer EVER!!!

Worst printer I've ever owned. Ink cartridges have horrendous lifetimes, you CANNOT buy third party cartridges to refill, and even if the black is full but the yellow is depleted, it won't print black and white. What kind of prehistoric bs is going on here? I can't print anything with this bucket of bolts, and the touch screen has a lag so bad I was able to fill my water bottle, clean my dog, finish college and get married all before it opened up the "settings" module. Don't waste your money on this garbage.

I hate this printer so much. I have wasted so much time on it. I won't waste anymore time by writing out the numerous complaints I have about it. I will just promise you that you will regret it if you buy it.

Had the printer for two years and I must print a maximum of 15 pages per week. Having recurring paper jam problem, and after spending 20 minutes with HP support I was told I need to buy a new one... Such of wast of money, time and material....

I am an attorney and had this printer for two months before it started malfunctioning. If printing jobs were as much as an hour apart, the printer would print symbols and double characters, which would waste my letterhead and checks, fouling up my accounting. I called Staples, where I bought it, and they said because it was on clearance I couldn't return, and gave me HP's number. I called HP. They ran me through senseless diagnostic tests before sending out a replacement and finally told me that they couldn't send a replacement until I go through all the steps. I said "I'll just buy another, thank you for your time." Thanks HP, for not making good on your promise to deliver a quality, even minimally competent product. You've cost me money and time. Goodbye forever.

Purchased printer 2 months ago for half price. Had a brief problem with an ink cartridge, called HP and they shipped new cartridge right away. I love how fast this printer is compared to my old HP printer. Automatically duplexing is fantastic, saves paper and is so much easier than manual duplexing.

When I bought this printer, I was shopping on a budget so I never expected to see the features that it has. Once I setup my printer, it printed out a confirmation sheet with an email address specifically for the printer itself, so if I am not close to my printer and I need to print a document, I just email it and it will be printed and waiting for me when I get home! Also the double sided printing is amazing! Most printers have you grab the stack and replace them into the tray to print the second side, but this printer does it all! It sucks the sheets back into the printer and prints both sides without having to touch the paper until it's done. The wifi and wireless features are also amazing, if I want to print a picture off my phone, I can just click on the picture and select print as well. Highly recommend this printer. Also the HP Instant Ink program is amaze-balls because I don't have to worry about running out to get more ink, it just shows up at my door when the printer needs it!!

Worst printer if you don't use color part it will dry out and it will not even print black and white prints.

The printer is slow to begin printing as compared to the previous hp that I had and also sometimes I will have to turn it off and turn it back on before it will print at all. I was informed that I would get a call to set up the fax and I am still waiting for that call...perhaps this will serve as a reminder :) Thank you.

Initial set up was easiest ever. Problems were with my internet and not the printer. Now using it on PC, Android, and apple products. Good quality and easy to scan.

I bought this less then two months ago and nearly every time I go to use it, I have to call and have your tech department reboot it. Every time I call and they reboot it, they tell me the problem is solved. Sometimes it last for a day or two, but sometimes as soon as they hang up it's confused again and does not work. You can check my file. You will see that in less then two months I have had to call tech support 5, maybe 6 times now. And I need them again now, I just don't have an hour to devote to the call right now.

This printer is not as easy to work with as the other printer I had. I had the 8600 Pro and it was so much better to work with. This printer is not user-friendly. I said I would recommend this product to a friend because it does do a good printing job even though it won’t properly process the HP expensive photo paper that I bought. It keeps pulling two sheets of photo paper together and I can’t get one complete picture on a page. I get one picture printed over two sheets of HP photo paper and they fall apart when they come out of the print process. What an expensive waste of photo paper.

I've had this about a month now to replace one that stopped printing pictures. This model has offered me everything plus in features I will probably not use from my home as I do not fax. I love the way it is set up and the paper jams are cleared out from the front of the printer rather than through the back of the printer. I love the fact that I can print photos and paper from the same tray. I love the fact it is not as noisy as my last HP printer. I love the options on copying a 2 sided piece of paper to be much more functional than my last printer. I print every day in my home from my poetry to recipes to the cards I make for my family for every occasion plus to my aging relatives who live on the East coast on a weekly basis just to keep in touch. I do not like the fact that I have a paper jam just about every day with the printer and do not understand why I should? It is easy enough to clear out but I should not have to do this every day? This is why my rating is so average on this printer..

I bought this printer a month ago to replace a HP OfficeJet Pro 8610. I also still have a 8600 in the house. Compared to those two, the 8720 is very fast, makes excellent pictures on plain paper and I found it as easy to set up as I had the 8610 several years ago. I do not regard pictures critical for my use, but was disappointed in the streaked images that came out of the 8610 and 8600, so the improvement is really great. And the standard print quality is really excellent. I think almost better than laser quality print. I would give this printer five stars, except for one problem. I use Apple computers mostly, so when I tried to scan twenty five pages using scan-to-computer, I was amazed at how fast the scanner accomplished this. The next time I scanned in multiple pages, using Scan-to-Computer, the 8720 could not find the Mac computer. After reading help pages etc, I completed the task by scanning from the Mac, which required several tries using HP and then Mac software. As of now, Scan-to-Computer still does not work with my Mac, and I am tired of trying to diagnose the issue ( it does finds my pc notebook). Scan-to-computer is important to me, so I give the 8720 four instead of five stars.

I’ve owned 20+ HP printers and wanted a faster update with larger display. I almost skipped this one due to low star reviews on Amazon. Howeve, I bought here (from fresh run) and everything works fine. One heads up - during setup of inks - Center the receptacle from the display window ‘continue setup.’ There’s no direction and it’s easy to waste 20” looking for mechanical trick (not one). All nets, tablets and desktop joined Bluetooth without a problem. Happy camper here!

While I have only had this printer for about a week, I really like it. I was going to choose the eco-tank printers over this but with HP's Instant Ink membership, I chose this over the ecotanks. Maybe later... but for now, this was a great deal. The printer, double prints fairly quickly. It automatically picked up my wifi information without me having to do anything with the HP Software. HP did great getting the printer to pretty much set itself up. Impressed. We wll see later how the instant ink works but from what I'm reading you get alot of ink in the cartridges, so your paying for the paper you print and not the ink. This was an excellent deal for the price this far.

I have owned prior versions of the OfficeJet Pro for my small business. Although I believe this one is better designed and built than its predecessor, I find that every time you send a print request over to the printer it takes a few seconds to get itself going (lots of internal activity happens before it actually prints). I don't seem to remember the same amount of time with the 8620. Frustrating when you have clients sitting in front of you and you are trying to print off something that is being discussed suddenly during the meeting. Lastly, I am not impressed with the Printer's scan quality. This has been a consistent issue I think with the officejet pros. Workable for historical reference documentation but not crisp enough to comfortably present for some business environments. That being said, for the money (especially since I purchased it during a HP sale) I am pleased with the printer.

TERRIFIC PRINTER!!
By TXPIPES61
I bought this printer to replace an older HP inkjet printer. This printer has consistently exceeded my expectations. The print function is speedy - if a little bit noisy. I really like the duplex feature where by you can take two separate pages and have it printed front/back on one page. Also, I like being able to send files to my printer wirelessly and having the printed documents waiting for me when I get home. The only function I have not used is the FAX. However, I intend to hook up the p...

Very dependable All-In-One Printer/Scanner/Copier
By JDLEE04
Bought this 8720, and have been testing it for more than a week. It is used primarily for home printing, and some work documents. I decided to upgrade my current HP All-In-One printer (HP C-7280), which has been working without problems for more than 10 years. Setup/install was very smooth, and easy as a snap. Installed as a wireless network printer and so far, both laptop & desktop computers have been printing to it perfectly with no problems via my network. Decided to use the install CD tha...
