I have had this printer for around six months or so, and have had no problems. I run the Windows Vista 64-bit o.s. I do wish that it could print pictures like the HP Photosmart; however, I am happy with all other functions. I am an online law student and print a lot for my classes and I have never owned a better printer, in regards for printing from areas like Word and Powerpoint. The only negative aspect is that the only oversized ink cartridge is the black one which is the black 88 XL. If I could change one thing it would be that the printer could hold an 88 XL cartridge for each color.

I have had this model printer for almost a year now, and absolutely love it! The quality and speed of printing is great for a machine in this price range. I would not have beleived an inkjet could produce color copies with such speed. I am a pastor of a small church congregation and am the only office worker - not even a secretary - so anything that speeds the administration and routine printing/publishing needs of our church is a blessing. I have desgned and printed top quality color brochures for our church and they look incredible. I am especially excited about the included automatic duplex feature, as I produce study notes and booklets each week that must be two-sided. No longer do I have to manually print both sides and then take to a photocopier to make copies! I have only two complaints about this printer, and they are both minor. Being a small church we have only one phone line, and this printer cannot be set up to receive a fax if your phone (like ours) has a digital voice mail system as opposed to a traditional answering machine. Therefore I must be in the office when a fax comes in to tell the all-in-one to receive it. If we had a separate answering machine the all-in one could be set on automatic and would determine if the in-coming call was a fax before the answering machine picked up. My only other complaint is that in printing envelopes, the all-in-one is set up to have the envelopes loaded so that the return address is printed last. Because of the amount of envelope that must be held by the machine during printing, the margin from the edge of the envelope to the left side of the return address must be at least 3/4." This is larger than it would be if you could load the envelope the other direction and have the return address printed first. I am so excited about the ability to have the XL print cartiridges and be able to load all the colors separately. This way you only have to replace the color that runs out, and not waste the other ink colors that would still be available in a single tri-color cartridge. I cannot recommend this all-in-one more highly!

I use this printer for home and office use. I've had other HP printers and have high expectations. This one I purchased almost a year ago for its ability to duplex, fax, and document feed as well as be a first rate home printer. At first, I had a difficult time with paper feeding properly. Fixed this by reinstalling the paper duplexing apparatus on the back and it's worked quite well ever since. I've used it for large documents and single photographs and it's worked well every time. The EnergyStar rating is a bonus.

This unit worked fine at first. The setup disc was corrupted so I had to download the software from HP.Com. After a couple of months, I got a printhead error. After purchasing a new printhead, the problem cleared. Two days later, the trouble reoccured. I then called HP tech support. After troubleshooting, they sent me a replacement printer. The new printer did not work with the two old printheads. They then sent me a new printhead. The printer is now back up and working fine. Meanwhile, the scanning software locks up one or both of our computers on our home network. I will call HP again to try to resolve this problem.

I purchased an L7580 2 years ago and an L7590 1 year ago. Our company is standardizing on this series of all-in-one machines for our remote project sites. We have had very few problems with the machines, despite our dusty work atmosphere. I double checked the ink yields published and we achieve the yields published or higher. The machine is much faster than our previous products and we have had very few problems with jambs. The machines also seem to handle crinkled paper relatively well. Jambs are difficult to clear, but we have never had a jamb that we could not clear or that cost down time. The L7580 and L7590 seem to handle paper that is subject to humid conditions better than the laser jet printer that we use. We have printed over 20,000 pages with the L7590 and over 12,000 pages with the L7580. The additional cost of the larger machine was easily recovered in saved ink cartridge costs. We have yet to replace a printhead. The additional labor savings well justifies the purchase of the larger machine. The only problems I have experienced were software related. The machine setup was relatively easy, but I lost some of the software settings after time. The scanning from the panel features are great for less knowledgeable operators, but I lose that functionality at times. I believe it may be my OS or my workstation optimization software that causes this, not HP's software. We also have trouble, in our dusty environment, with the document feeder failing to draw in paper. HP recommended regular cleaning with a damp cloth. We have few problems as long as the rollers are clean. All in all, I have had very good experience with these machines, have recommended it to other project managers at other project sites and have received no complaints. I would have rated its performance a 5 if I could keep the scan from the panel features operational. We have never had a problem receiving or sending faxes. We have never had a problem with the copy features. I also use the SD card reader on the printer and the HP software to transfer, view and print pictures on a regular basis. A great added feature, since not all our laptops have a card reader.

This machine is an absolute lemon. The printing heads keep failing thus immobiling all functions. It has been out of action more times than in use and is currently out of action due to the prining heads failing now for the third time in 4 months. Ink use is excessive with the yellow cartidge in particular exhausting itself within 400 pages [ not including colour print] . Paper feed has been difficult and one occassion jambed causing the printer to exhaust all catridges. Looking for a replacement from retailer.

This printer is outstanding. The pictures that I print look like I had them done at a photo store. It is top quality. Thank You HP. GrannyDan

The printer is fantastic. It even copies two sided sheets onto two sided sheets that are reduced. The size of the paper tray is also beneficial, you do not have to constantly load paper. I have used all of the features, printing, fax, copying and scanning. Once in a while the original feed jams on two sided operation and it is awkward to clear the jam. Set up was not plug and play, it required a call to tech support which was professional and resolution was expedient. Even with this annoyance, the unit delivers what it promises and then some. The separate 4 ink cartridges appear to be very cost effective and provide for high usage.

This is a great printer. It is super fast at printing in black. The fax works great and the software is similar to other versions of HP printer software so it was easy to use. The only knock that I would give it is that if you turn the printer off it takes a few minutes for it to load up again, but that really isn't a big deal. I just use it for home use cause i'm going back to school and do a lot of printing for school work. If you are looking at this printer I would buy it.

I LOVE THE QUALITY and PEFORMANCE OF THE PRINTER. HOWEVER, REPLACING INK IS COSTLY AND WHEN ONE CARTRIDGE IS OUT IT WII NOT PRODUCE.

This is the worst HP printer I have ever owned. Paper jams all the time, it says it has faxed 8 pages and when it really faxes 6 pages.

I have had over a dozen inkjet printers in the last 15+ years. I have had this printer a year, and we have put about 20,000 pages through it (we buy paper by the case). This has become the workhorse of our printers and is the one I recomment to all. We primarily print black copies and do copying. Auto-duplexing is a requirement on any primary printer I buy (and has been on at least 7 HP printers I have owned). It works well and quickly. There are two minor problems (in comparison to other printers, they are very minor). The sheet feeder is a little touchier than some other printers--make sure it does nto accidentally skip a page on copying or faxing. The software for complex copying or faxing needs a better interface, and finding the printer utilities can be an adventure (Other HP printers have been much better). Contrary to other reviews, the fax utility can feed from the feeder and generate a cover letter with custom comments. (I have sent a number of multi-page faxes that way). The paper tray is big enough to hold over 200 pages, and it can also handle heaver paper like 65 lb cardstock (I did around 2000 sheets, doublesided a few months ago). We often print 200-500 pages in a night. Unlike some other cartridge systems, this one just handles it well, and the consumable cost is low enough to be reasonable. I probably will be buying another in about 2 years or so, and It should be a very similar one. HP really has a winner in this series.

I bought this printer last week. It was very easy to set up and use. The problems I have with this printed are - it is a lot larger that I expected (not a major problem); it is very loud!! That really bothers me. Lastly, I settled for this printer because I could not find what I really wanted. I am not unhappy with it except for the noise. I just wish I had waited until this week to make a purchase, because there are more choices.

This was an upgrade for my home-based medical transcription business. I've had 3 other hp all-in-one machines and loved them all. I am disappointed in the floppy paper feeder cover and the fact that you have to remove the paper from the paper tray to print an envelope. What waste of time. So far performance has been as promised, even the fax. After reading the other reviews, it seems that this model has a very inconsistent performance record.

This printer has excellent print quality and is very thrifty with ink, however when it comes to operating as a scanner or a fax the printer leaves much to be desired. Purchasers will find the printer only faxes 20# paper trouble free and it will jam 95% of the time if you try to fax 16# paper especially if you fax more than one sheet. Also, the fax feeder will partially turn and cut off all paper other than 20# (16#, 18#, 24#, 36#, etc.). Finally, this printer does not scan well because there is always edge distortion and turning.

My old printer stopped working after six year and it was another brand. I looked at printers, and was impressed with this one. The sale person was attempting me to buy a laser printer. I have nothing wrong with laser printers but the price of the drum. The Officejet Pro L7590, is really a surprising printer. It is simple to operate and the copies are excellent. It copies, faxes, and scans and does pictures. I love the pictures since I have grandchildren under the age of two. Last one was born in Oct of 08 so there is a lot of picture taking. I had a sight problem in loading the hardward when using the CD no driver. But I located the driver on HP website, it was a breeze.

The device has been entirely redesigned, but they cut too far in the power and grounding management. Uness you have the perfect power and cabe arrangements, it does not work. Would not replace my 7310 Al in one with the exact same cabes and computer. Finally sent it back.

Overall, this is an excelletent all-in-one. It is fast, and the quality of printing is very good. It does not, however, have good fax software. You can only fax by scanning hard copies on top of the scanner glass. It is not possible to create a fax cover page from the SEND FAX screen, or print copies of a fax from the fax log. These were very useful properties in my previous HP photosmart all-in-one.

My HP Photosmart quit mid-print. I tried for 2 days to restart it but I think it really died. This was the very first problem I've ever encountered in all my years with HP printers. It was a "work horse" for me and so I decided to replace it with an HP Office Pro upgrade. Boy have I been pleased. This is a great printer for the price and the extended ink cartridges make it a real savings for the money you pay for them. I do a lot of printing for the college classes I teach and I find that this printer has all the features I really need. The double sided printing, the faxing capabilities, the quality of the print and graphics, etc. all make for one excellent product. I've used HP printers for many, many years (back to the early dot matrix years) without any major problems. They always seem to want to do the work for you no matter what and this new printer seems even better at that task. I give this Office Pro L7590 printer a very high recommendation.

Installed HP L7590 in about an hour on ethernet wired network into a wireless router. It works wired or wireless excellant. I can believe how easy it was to install and operate. We have 2 Vista OS 32 on new destop and laptop that can now do printing/scanning/file saving/email, plus another laptop with XP Pro, it works with that also. Software was furnished for both OS with the printer. We just followed the directions in the documentation and as directed by the software and we were working in a matter of minutes. Able to scan into jpg, tif, pdf, word rich text, plus several other formats. Scan can save to a file directly or email direct. This all works from every computer, HP did a great job making this work seamlessly.

Great price and easy to set up and use. Burns through ink cartridges like there's no tomorrow, which is going to be expensive. I like the features but would it have hurt HP to include the Direct Digital Scanning feature on this model? I thought I'd be able to scan to a Network folder but that feature is on the next model up - bummer... Haven't used the fax yet but may down the road. Scan and print quality are fantastic, my only real complaint is how fast this thing goes through the ink.

I waited a year for this HP Officejet. We bought the printer on April 15, 2008 when it was on sale. I use this printer just about everyday. I do our ministry newsletter and the duplex ability is fantastic feature for us on 24# paper. I do all our envelopes (all sizes) do 10 at a time, labels, letters, make cards on light weight card stock, post cards, business cards, pictures, letter, reports of all types, scan documents of all sorts, we send and receive faxes with it. I use it wireless also from my laptop. And even have used the I like being able to buy the XL cartridges. The feature of the ink levels of each cartridge is great. I replace the cartridges when the printer tells me to replace it and waits to print the page until it is replaced. Not like the old printer I had as it would run out and waste my paper. I like the individual ink cartridge tanks. I have had very minimal printing problems way less then using a laser printer or our old ink jet printer. Clear Labels had a problem but they were the cheap ones and once in a while the printer will tear a duplex sheet, probably 6 the whole time of use and printing #6 envelopes it will pick up two but that only happened 4 times and I print a lot of #6 envelopes. Fan the paper before putting it in the paper tray. The all in one is heavy and has a large foot print. No machine is perfect but this is just about there and that why I rated it a 5 star. I am using OS WinXP Service Pack 3 - that update did cause a quirk in the HP printing software and set the mirror on for default. I contact HP Service and followed their directions and fixed the problem. I had to uninstall the driver and software and reinstall working great! ***Oh I read somewhere else that someone mentioned they can't use the fax with cable modem. My daughter has cable modem and just ran a phone jack splitter from the phone jack to the cable box and uses the Windows Fax in her computer. I am sure you can set this up to use the Printer Fax through the computer or the phone line directly with a splitter. I have DSL have an identa ring no problems. This is a great Office Machine and highly recommend it!

I love this printer.....I print alot of bookets and I love the fact that I can print 4 pages into one printed page....Wow...that's really going green. I also us 80 to 110 pound paper and have had no paper jams. If I would improve anything on this machine it would be the black tray that sits on top of the document feeder....It doesn't stay on very well and I'm always bumping it...would be great if it locked in better. Ink replacement is a breeze. This printer does everything i need to do to support my craft business....thanks HP for such a great product!

This is a printer to avoid. We have had nothing but problems. 1. Faxs sent through the feed jam 2. Pages being printied (20 # paper) jam. Stay away from this lemon.

This printer is great. I had no trouble with setup. Just follow the directions and "be patient" and it will work fine. The setup does take the time it displays on the printer. My wife uses this for brochures and to save ink she does them in draft quality and they are still unbelieveable. No jams at all and she has used some heavy card stock. The color and resolution are excellent. Great printer. Have had no trouble, so far, knock on wood. I will agree with other folks some of the plastic seems cheap, but really, I have looked at the other manufacturers at the stores and theirs are no better, they are ALL cheap. Prints double sided great too.Great machine. Highly recommend it. Copy and Scanning is excellent. I have not used fax, though..

The first thing that attracted me was the price - wow. I was apprehensive because even though I'd had HP printers before, they weren't always every thing I thought they'd be. It was so affordable I thought it might be "cheap". But I took a chance. Not cheap at all. It performs beautifully; and it's so intuitive. I love the two-sided printing - what a timesaver. The ink cartriges are so simple to remove and install. The fax actually works. Everything about it is impressive. This is a great printer at a great price.

I have had the L7590 for several months and have used it to print, fax, scan and copy, both black and white and color. I have been impressed with the speed and quality of the color printing and copying. Faxing and scanning work well, and fairly quickly compared to my older machine that i replaced. It has pretty much all the features that I would look for in an all in one machine, including two sided scanning. Control panel is well designed and intuitive... easy to figure out. Learning curve for me was short. The only "negative" that I have experienced is the document feeder tray on the top of the machine is rather flimsy and does not hook into the printer very securely, and I have had to go back to reconnect it on a number of occasions. It is rather a surprise to find something as basic as that so poorly designed or checked for quality. Notheless, I have been very happy with the value i have gotten for the money on this all in one machine. I do recommend it to others.

This printer has all the best features of a printer/scanner/fax and copier. It is easy to use and do all functions better than even the best copiers. I especially like the two-side printing and the collating. It has gone a long way to make printing fun and easy, while saving costs on paper. The ink used is also conservative. It is also good at printing envelops and pictures. I have been able to replace a number of individual functional units with this one printer.

Converted LaserJet Purchaser
By svsouza
I typically buy laserjet printers but I was looking for a reasonably priced all in one for my small office of 3 people. We each have our own printer and I had two color lasers and one b&w all in one for the office assistant. Well, the all in one was about 8 years old and needed a new drum kit. It was less expensive to buy a new printer. My assistant suggested a highspeed inkjet printer (which i initially scoffed at) and I did a little research after realizing that the laserjet all in one was ...
