Adorama Delivers Big on HP Desktop

I was looking for the right desktop PC to replace my home office unit when I came across HP's Pavilion P6-2330. Adorama came through with the best price compared to other online retailers. Fast in accessing programs and the Internet, this is exactly what I needed for my writing and design work. Next step is mastering Windows 8. Thanks Adorama!

Avoid windows 8 !

I've been building and using computers now for about 16 years, so it's not like this is something new to me. The computer is a little slow, but for the money, it's okay....HOWEVER, windows 8 is so bad that I'm going to sell this, if not give it away, and build one myself and put Linux on it. MS went over the edge this time. I've even read business reports that claim that computer sales were way down because of windows 8 complaints. And no, by clicking on the desktop tile, it does NOT take you back to a windows 7 look alike and functionality. At the present time, HP offers a few computers with Win 7 on them. SERIOUSLY look into these before you make a mistake and end up with (throw it out the) window8.

In Windows 8, there's lots of room for improvement

In Windows 8, Microsoft thoroughly cluttered up a previously straightforward operating system and, with the disappearance of Outlook Express, eliminated for Verizon customers (and maybe everybody?) the capability to download and save e-mail on one's own computer vice the Web.

Just Ok

Your wireless feature has limited distance. II have to move it to a location or turn it to a different direction to get full wireless access. I am to do a lot of searching for computer functions. I guess I am just used to Windows 7 . I am just getting my feet on the ground with Windows 8.

Great setup!

The tiles in windows 8 are very easy! It was also easy to click desktop and that will take you to the regular window you were use to in windows 7. Easy to use and runs wonderfully!

Product- quick delivery

the only reason this did not recieve a solid excellent rating was due to the difficulty in connecting a Dell Printer.

Great PC

Easy set-up, fast and better than I had hoped. Windows 8 is easy to use. I would recommend this HP Pavilion to all who are looking for a PC that does what HP said it would do.

Poor Design

I had to get a new computer because the motherboard on my old HP crashed. The USB ports on the front of the computer do not work; the plugs do not engage properly. USB ports... simple commodity product... should have been tested before unit left the factory. The power switch is on the front of the computer just 2 vertical inches from the eject button for the optical drive. The CPU is on the floor under my desk and I can easily hit the wrong button and turn the computer off when I want to exchange data disks. I know the problem and try to avoid the wrong button but I have to visually look at the computer to know I will get it right. Poor design. I got an $80 discount from list price on the new HP computer but had to pay the Best Buy Geek Squad $200 to retrieve my data. My old software did not load onto Windows 8 and had to get new software. The new HP computer still doesn't work the way I want it to; 10 clicks to do what I could do before with 2. And I still can't find features I want in the form, function and feel I like. I also had to buy an external hard drive for data backup because I just can not trust my new HP computer. It took a lot of personal time and energy to swap out these HP computers and work through the performance issues. Still trying to work out some critical bugs.

I love this computer.

This computer is faster and has twice the hard drive and memory of my old computer. It also cost much less than my old computer. I ordered it on a Monday night and it was delivered for free at my home on Wednesday. Windows 8 is new for me, but I'm learning how to use it and I like it. I also like that my documents in Documents To Go can be synced to my phone without a wire.

Don't like the USB 3.0 connections on the front .c

Overall, it is fast, but the Windows 8 operating system is very confusing. It will take some time to get used to it.

Performace

The performance is great, fast and efficient. The only drawback if Windows 8, this is not ready for primtetime and there should be some documentation on the cumbersome use of it.

Windows 8 is a bit of a challenge compared to XP, but we are learning quickly. Thank you for your quick delivery of our computer.

Buyer Beware!!!

If you are not 100% fluent with Windows 8, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! There is no information provided by HP and the HP Information center only wants to know how often you want to update the software.

Great product, except windows 8

This unit will do everything that I need/want to do on a computer. I am not familiar with windows 8 and it is taking awhile to learn to navigate around with it. Only other complaint (by my son) is that it doesn't have the games that windows vista had. Other than that, great unit!

Fast, Quiet, just what I wanted

The computer arrived in a weeks time. It was easy to set up and I love how quiet and fast it is. The tower is smaller than my last computer and fits in a smaller space. It is working flawlessly. I have had great luck with HP products and recommend them to my family and friends.

Really Good Unit

I've had this one for a little over a week and so far so good. First the cons: we I received the unit the USB ports on the front did not work. I was able to get through to Tech Support w/ less than a 2 minute wait. Unfortunately it was not a software issue; it was a manufactureing issue. Whoever assemlbed the unit did not connect the cable to the mother board. I must give credit to HP, they gave me a credit for having to open the unit and attach the cable. Also, I have had a couple of issues with the unit running slow while editing videos. I'm not certain how much of it is the software which is known for being a little slow and locking up. Since I only task my computer at such a high level 2-3 times a year (editing football highlights) its not a issue for me. Otherwise the unit runs really smooth and is pretty fast. Setup was really easy and Windows 8 quickly loaded my settings from my account. The video card provides a crisp picture; I've only watched a couple of music videos but I am pleased so far. The keyboard has a really soft touch and the volume and sleep control are convenient. Originally I purchased a HP with a AMD A4 processor and it lagged quite a bit. The upgrade made a significant difference. Also, the ability to upgrade to as much as 36G of RAM is very attractive. Overall, if you have basic computing needs (email, internet, MS Office, viewing pictures) and only occasionally get in to game play, video and photo editing this computer should last you several years.
