I bought this printer a few months into my freshman year of college. It works great, and the ink is fairly inexpensive. The only problem I have is every now and then it will tell me there is a cartdridge jam. I do what it says to fix the jam, but it never works.

Printer worked great for a couple of months then failed and would not recognize the printer cartridges (new ones). HP must have a serious problem with this printer because they gave me a refund (that was only good at their in house store) after only a few questions. I have another printer just like this one and it has begun not recognizing the printer cartridge. I tried two brand new cartridges, it did not recognized the first one but did recognize the second and has worked for several pages.

I thought this printer was good for the price and features until........ I had a hard time trying to setup this printer on my Mac. Also, after installing software the printer completely froze up and never came back on.

I bought two of these printers. At first they worked beautifully. Then, when I switched back and forth, they did not work right. I did select the current printer too. In both printers, it told me I was out of paper which I wasn't. There was no cure. NOw I am going to buy the wireless D110, of course, with the warranty, and take it with me.

Love the printer. It makes great pics and print pages. The only complaint is it is noisy and takes too long to start. But I can live with that.

Good printer and the only problem was installing it on my Vista computer. For the money this is the best on the market,

Besides giving me great service the best thing i think I love about this printer is the ability to insert a diskette which enables me to keep forms, pictures, envelopes, etc right at my finger tips that are stored on the printer or when you are done taking pictures you can take it right out of the camera and put it right in the printer and the pictures or what ever you have to download is right there for you.

I love this printer from my daughters. I didn't have one before so it is great to have one that also copies documents. I am still getting used to all the features.

Good new photosmart C4680,but use ink cartages very fast. Other than that it is a very good piece of equipment.

Seems to be a good scanner, however unlike all the other hp printers I have had, it is a terrible printer. It often takes several sheets of paper at once or cuts off the top portion of the document. I also have found it impossible to get my checks or invoices to line up. Luckily I still own my older HP printer so I use this one for most my printing needs. Would love a true all in one product.

I'm so pleased with this printer. Not only was it easy to set up, the print quality is amazing. Especially photos. The copy and scan features work well. I think my only tiny complaint is the plastic on the top shows tons of finger prints, would have liked it to be textured instead of smooth to avoid the smudges...still I would buy this again immeditately!

This printer was given to me as a gift. I would not have purchased it on my own. It has been nothing but trouble since I've had it. Printing business cards is an adventure. It prints either too high on the card stock, or after adjusting to bring the art down, it then prints too low. Cannot achieve a happy medium. Now when it prints, it leaves a broken line on one side of the paper. Two attempts to have HP techs solve the problems did not help. They had me uninstalling the software multiple times, then reinstalling new software which gives different settings The only thing it prints well is plain paper sheets, but as mentioned, it now leaves the broken line. Now I notice that HP is not making just a printer, just an all-in-one Photosmart printer. This does not make sense. I don't need all the other stuff. Jack of all trades, master of none.

I had to call in for support and was told to not use power surge protectors for this printer. After I called in for another problem of not having established Administrator rights on setup because I thought it was automatic, I was taught to enter Printer as Administrator and then modify or delete my queue. But the real problem that I'm having is the power light goes out and when I try to turn the switch off and on, it stays off and doesn't come on again. I have to reset the power plug by disconnecting the wiring and then plugging it up again. This seems to work but this is ridiculous, having to do this everytime I need to print. It seems a bit funny though. The technician told me their printers were all perfect.

I have had the HP C-4680 for about 9 months. Truly a terrific printer. Love it. Very easy to understand and use. Every feature is great. Very best product for the dollar. Of course, they get you on the inks. Expensive to keep ink supplied. Get the 60 XL if you can afford them. More prints. Again, HP produces a good inexpensive product and gets us on the other end (with the high ink costs.) I don't use it too much, so, I like it a lot, but, for everyday printing, give it a lot of thought before purchasing. It could be too expensive. Otherwise, we love it.

Have used various HP printers over the last 25 years. C4680 Photosmart uses too much Black ink even in draft mode. Is very noisy. After several months of use noise is getting louder and more frequent. Have had to un-install and re-install software several times.

I have installed the software several times, spent hours on the phone with HP tech support with them installing the software. The computer still will not recognize the scan portion of the scanner. The C4680 will not even scan using the printer control panel. I gave up and will just use it to print and continue to use my Lexmark for scanning.

The printer is mechanically good. Having had a All in one 1500 beforehand I am of the opinion that the 4680 should have been made in such a manner that the setting of the various print tasks would be far better if HP had kept to similar ways of setting up your print task - I think it slightly on the poor side. Still if you want a cheapy you have to expect some discomfort. I am programming myself to put up with it.

I had no problems for a few months, except I noticed switching inks were a little difficult. Did not want to stay snapped in place and did not seem to have enough finger space to insert the cartridge into the carridge. Anyway, one day, I could not get it to print. I called HP support to trouble shoot, but in the process, I ended up getting the colored ink cartridge stuck in the machine and I could not get the black one to click in place. Needless to say I had to send it back and I got a different printer. With much help from HP I am up and running and love my new one.Other than the cartridge-carridge problem, the C-4680 worked beautiful for the money. (see 6500 wireless review) That's my story!

i bought this printer because my kids had broken the one i had. it turned out a great printer, great quality when it came to pictures and color copies for my wife's school papers. not only that it has also survived my two kids. they dropped it twice and it is still in one piece.

Every printer I have had has been an HP--each one has been reliable. It is easy to set up and use. I would not use any other printer.

I have had my C4680 for a year now and it has served me well. It is easy to operate and works to my satisfaction. I mostly use it for writing transcripts and letters, and so I print in black and white;but on the occasion I have used the color printing for Christmas letters or whatever the need be, it is dependable in producing a quality print I am proud of. Photos are something I have not yet tried, but intend to very soon. When scanning an old recipe that I tore out of a book I had, it had become grease-stained and smudged with fingerprints and who knows what else, I was able to clean up that recipe and just about restore it to new. If you want a good printer and one that is fairly easy to operate, this one is for you.

Have always stayed away from all-in-ones due to bad press on them, but after my last Photosmart (photo printer only) died, I decided to try this. The ability to copy and scan is marvelous. I found with VISTA I could only scan using PAINT or another imaging program, no big deal. It allows me to edit and save only what I want of the scanned pages. Copying is so easy! And the print quality is great. I read reviews here which said it was noisy and had other annoying features, but so far I have not found anything to complain about. A big kudo to HP for replacing unopened cartridges from my old (dead) Photosmart which did not fit in this one; not only did they replace them with bigger sized cartridges, the process was easy with their on-line contacts. A friend bought one of these, had some problems, returned it, got another brand they hated, and ended up going back and getting this one again after my comments to her. Second time around for them the install/setup was fine. They love theirs too.

Initially, when I used the Photosmart C4680 printer, it seemed so LOUD! But after the first day, it did not seem so loud to me anymore. I don’t like that the LID DOES NOT COME OFF so that I can easily place a book atop the screen to scan it. This Photosmart C4680 Printer prints just how I want it to. I like the Software for the printer. I can set to see a PREVIEW Before Printing. I can also set Specifics for my special Printing Purposes [DOUBLE-SIDED, PRINT 2 PAGES ON 1 PAGE – all in BLACK-DRAFT] - and I can set a DEFAULT PRINT-PAGE, which I set to automatically print in DRAFT-BLACK ON A FULL PAGE. I like the little TOUCH SCREEN on the Printer – it makes me feel like I’m in the New Technology Era. The screen-view shuts down after a while, to save energy, I guess. A light touch to the screen area – and the SCAN/PHOTO/COPY Screen-Options light up! When my last HP Printer finally exhausted its life, I purchased the Photosmart C4680 printer in an emergency – and I made a great decision!

Very happy when this all-in-one solution was purchased with a new Titanium Macbook Pro. Unfortunately, after many hours of trying to make the scanner work I gave up. It doesn't seem to work with Mac OSX Snow Leopard. Handy.

Purchased this printer based on other reviews so far it has been great, very user friendly and the print quality is very good. I have had the printer for several months now and I have yet to replace the original cartridges. I use it at home so it is not used heavily every day. For the price I think this is a great buy. So far I have nothing negative to say about this product.

I have had two HP printers and never considered getting anything else. I know the ink is a little expensive but it is also the best for printing the things I print whether it is pictures or flyers.

Love my new inexpensive Printer!
By StudentNurse
My old HP printer of five years broke in the middle of my semester and was too costly to fix. I needed a printer fast so I didn't have to constantly pay for printing at school. I found this printer for a great price and it does everything I need. It is efficient, scans, prints beautiful pictures and installation could not have been easier. I am not very technologically savy but could easily figure out how to set up and install this printer. It has a very sleek design and it's nice that ink lo...

We have had it now for a couple of weeks and so far so good, very pleased with it. Easy set up and very fast printing and I love the fact that everything is done from the front as far as loading paper, ink, the on/off switch and LCD screen are easy to view. Nicely compact and sleek looking.
