Slow, Unresponsive quite often

Freezes up , Flashes, becomes unresposive. Nothing like the Laptop version. I expected it to be even faster. All I use it for is design software. nothing that would bog or slow it down. it was slow from the first use.

New PC

It works quite well, overall, though I haven't put it to heavy use yet. I'm not impressed with the sound system, which has failed multiple times. (Restarting the entire system fixes the problem at least temporarily; I don't know if this is specifically a physical issue or a Windows 11 software issue - research indicates that it might be the latter, based on how many people complained about it.)

HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop

I like how compact the size of this PC is. It works well for my uses (photo editing and casual gaming). The setup was easy. I wish the sound can be improved on because it is a little low. I have also had sound issues where the sound stops randomly and is only fixed after restarting.

DO NOT BUY HP PRODUCTS!

DO NOT BUY THIS COMPUTER. DO NOT CALL HP CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT BUY HP PRODUCTS. Late December. My mom bought me this PC for Christmas. It worked for about a week before I had to call HP customer service. Every time the PC updates, it quits working. It will turn on, but beyond that, nothing. I can't open anything, I can't reset it from the settings, I can't even get it turned off unless I shut it off from the tower. Clearly, a software issue. They show me how to manually reset it, and I do, and it works for a couple of weeks. Early January. We called again because of the same issue. We exchanged it for the same PC, and we bought the extended warranty because the person we were on the phone with told us that we could return it as long as the warranty was valid. So, now I have a new Victus. Around March/April. We call again because the same issue is happening, and we just want to return it and be done with this. This time, we find out we cannot return it, despite what we were told before. If we had known that, and we've told every person we've had to speak to at HP this, we would have returned it then and avoided all of this. Since then, we have had phone call after phone call, troubleshooting session after troubleshooting session, and even an in-home service repair. Nothing has worked, it still craps out whenever I update it, and our request for a refund has been denied at every turn. I have talked to customer service, HP techs, a case manager, and an on-site tech who said that the PC couldn't be fixed, and still, we are denied our refund. Our case manager told us we should have called within the refund window, which we would have, but my grandfather/my mom's father passed, so we were understandably grieving, and under the assumption that we could still return it because of the warranty. Our HP customer service experience, specifically with the case manager, has been nothing short of a nightmare. No progress with the PC, months of having to step out during my college classes, take a moment during work, or my mom spending hours while clocked in at work to speak with our case manager because he would never answer the phone, so when he called, we had to answer. There was no communication between technicians, the case manager, the case manager's supervisor, etc. so I've had to retell our issue and everything that we've done to try and troubleshoot it to everyone I've talked to JUST FOR THEM TO WALK US THROUGH THE SAME TROUBLESHOOTING PROCESSES. When we thought we were making progress with the on-site tech coming, we were disappointed. We spoke with a supervisor, Ashley who told us that we could get a refund if we went through the whole process up to the on-site service, but our case manager still refuses our refund. So, we have been reduced to just sending it back, getting another new, "fixed" PC, and selling it on Facebook Marketplace so I can buy a better product. HP is the worst company I have ever worked with, and I implore you to look elsewhere when you are thinking about buying anything, from a PC to a printer. Their customer service is deplorable, their products are deplorable, and even after you go through all the necessary steps, they will not give you your money back.

Broken from the factory

This is my second Victus computer that you have sent me and it crashed in 3 hours. I ordered my first computer on 12/3/24 and had to wait a month for it to show up. That first Victus computer only lasted for 3 days. I had to return it in January and yesterday I received the replacement computer and it doesn't work. I've spent to many hours of my life on the phone with tech support trying to get the computers working. I'm tired of fighting with this system and trying to get it working. I'm watching video's and getting more frustrated. I shouldn't have to waist my time trying to fix a brand new computer. When you buy a new car you expect it to drive down the road. Well this computer cant drive and I shouldn't have to be the mechanic to fix it. I didn't drop hundreds of dollars for a junk computer. This computer was suppose to be a Christmas gift for my kids and it's turned into a nightmare. My family is upset about the computer and angry with me because I can't fix the situation. I can't fix the computer problem because HP has no support over the weekends. They also send out computers knowing they have problems. I even asked if the replacement computer would be OK because it would have the same systems and windows 11. The sales woman assured me that everything would be working with the new computer. I also had to pay $65 to have the second computer shipped to me. They said I would get it refunded once I returned the old computer. I had to call and complain to get my money back. Why should I even have to pay for a problem HP created in the first place? Evidently not true because your systems have a major problem and even the technical guys seem to know this is a problem. Why HP is not fixing the issue before sending the computers to the customer is beyond me. It seems that HP only cares about sales and not service since I can buy a computer over the weekend but can not get any service as a new customer.

great buy at this price point

set up was easy, up and running in minutes. handles everything without a hitch, gaming, streaming, movies. i also like its size, not overly large. specs are great for its price point. build quality is very good as well, no buzzing or weird sounds. just hums along doing its thing without issue.

Audio could be improved, very fast easy startup and processing.

Works very well , except the audio output is lower than my last computer and I'm getting an occasional hum from having to crank up the powered studio monitor speakers that I have attached. The system would benefit from a built in graphic equalizer.. I mostly use my computer for music.

Great build with some glitchy OS

I was needing a mid range gaming computer and it delivers. The outer build is sleek and minimalistic that adds to the futuristic style. However, the Windows pre installed into the computer was glitchy and failed to function after an update. Unfortunately, I had to reinstall Windows from a boot USB drive.

A great choice for photographers

As a professional photographer, I have specific requirements for running programs like Photoshop. This computer not only meets but also surpasses those requirements at a reasonable price. Compared to Dell and Lenovo, HP stands out due to its superior specifications and cost-effectiveness.

Perfect for new gamer

Great gaming PC for a beginer. This PC was actually for my son, who is far from a serious gamer. Its been working great for him playing Elden Ring, and a few other games he likes.

Needs more RAM; Otherwise, great for the price

Price with discount available at the time for what you get is definitely worth it. However, the "fps" feature on the site is misleading in what games you can actually play at the specs I chose. With 8gb of DDR4 it told me I'd be able to play graphic-intensive games like GTAV and GoW at 1440p at at least 25fps, but it wouldn't even play Homeworld 3 at medium graphics, even crashed multiple times saying "out of memory". Had to upgrade it myself to 32gb of DDR4 (thankfully it was able to be manually upgraded) and this seems to have solved the problem, will actually now play HW3 on epic graphics at 4k (both native and game res set to this) and only hiccups every once and a while. Windows 11 is extremely aggravating to set up. They force you to sign in with an online MS account during initial setup (there's no way around it as it ships with Home edition), the tying all your main folders to One Drive, which even if you remove, you can't redirect the folders. Not to mention in W11 they've removed or hidden a ton of very useful windows features, and the OS itself is quite privacy-invasive. Looks good and is speedy but otherwise trash. Overall, would recommend this custom tower for a gamer on a budget, just get more than 8gb of RAM.

Computer failed very quickly. Returned the computer and have not been reimbursed and have not received any useful notification of return of payment. Currently, it seems that they are intentionally attempting to steal the money.

Simply amazing for Artists, gamers and more

We are extremely pleased with this, it's actually for our daughter who's an artist and gamer, so she needed more to do the piece of art she does. It was perfect for play, browsing, gaming big time, had no problem starting up and settling her items, tech and games in minutes. She's not got any complaints about the tower or function. She did adore the lights

Amongst the best of the mid-range gaming PCs

This is a fast, reliable machine. I wish it came with more RAM stock, but it performs very well. I use it for both business and light gaming (MMORPG) and it performs well for all tasks, even as a test web server.

Great PC, easy upgrade.

If I could I would do 4 1/2 star, just because the only thing that was wrong with this PC was not enough storage. I could of added more when getting it, but didnt really realize til after I got and downloaded a few games. The games and PC runs amazing no problems what so ever. Also to solve my storage problem it was fairly simple since the PC was already set up with internal cables and storage cage for an upgrade storage drive. I bought a Samsung 870 Evo 1TB SSD and plugged the Sata cable and power cable that is already ready in your HP Victus 15L PC. So I have truely loved this PC so far it has been really great.

Not good for gaming

First: the CPU on this unit was great for general purpose. However, the GPU, and low amount of RAM made this a poor excuse for a gaming PC.. fact is, it froze repeatedly, meaning I had to force restart the PC only to have it happen again about 30 minutes later.. ultimately I will be sending this unit back from wence it came.

A good PC with many features

I'm happy with the Victus except that it didn't come with a CD player or SD slot. This was an easy fix by purchasing a separate one off of Amazon. The techs helped me transfer over everything from one tower to the other and were very, very helpful with the whole process.

this works fine for non-BLAM BLAM BLAM gaming

I got this for light gaming (none of that bleeding-edge BLAM BLAM BLAM stuff for me) and this suits my needs very well for ten-years old & still-buggy sims and a lot of fun indie games. The sliver-like power button seems to be recycled from an old Sony console and takes practice on how to operate. The Omen software's overlays didn't work for me and I uninstalled it, although that means I have no way to change the groovy "V" mood lighting; the color options were pastels anyway so it's not a big loss. It came with the OS that was described in the HP store's website, unlike my previous computer from them; good job, HP store!

Good little everyday computer. Small, VERY quiet, and pretty fast.

Bought this machine beacause it was such an exceptional deal from HP. Have never had a Ryzen processor before, but it didn't disappoint. It loads pages fast, and processes normal day-to-day things quickly. Multitasking didn't seem to pose an issue either. Admittedly, it's not quite as fast as my old i7 from Intel, but it gets the job done. The graphics card seems to work okay, but I did notice a few issues with quality on 1080p and higher videos. Red & green horizontal lines started to appear (almost immediately) in videos and did NOT go away. The computer is remakably silent, even to people with sensitive ears. It also starts and shuts down relatively fast. It has a smaller footprint than previous generation towers too. Note: I got the added 1 Tb HDD for storage, but there does NOT seem to be any way to tell the computer to use the HDD instead of the SSD, despite what the HP reps say. I'll put it down to operator error (and/or not being tech savy enough), but the software seems to be predetermined NOT to give the option of using the HDD. On the whole it's a good every day machine, but you'll have to be the judge on whether it's good for gaming.
