This product is friggin awesome. The only things I want to see is a way to be able to set the proxy (I need this for work), and more apps that I'm sure will come when developers realize how many people have these now. Its a GREAT product.

This product is great! While I have no exposure to the iPad (which most people seem to prefer due to the large number of apps writen for it), the TouchPad more than meets my needs. webOS is fast and user friendly. And, it's really cool that when the TouchPad is placed on the TouchStone to charge, it will slide-show through any pics you have on the device. If you have no pics loaded, it displays a clock. So it can really become part of your decor while it's charging! Really wish HP hadn't discontinued the webOS hardware. I think with time, and more developers creating apps for it, this tablet really could have commanded the price at which it was originally priced. It was a bit premature to go head to head with Apple right out of the gate. But, as HP has probably seen, there is demand. Bite the bullet up front and take your loses...then as more users buy in, more developers create apps...then up the price. Regardless, if you have an opportunity to purchase one, go for it! Totally cool...and I'm now addicted to Angry Birds :-o

Bought this for my wife. She set it up without my help. Took her some time to navagate the Web OS. This was a good buy. If given another chance I would buy one more.

Touchpad was very quick and easy to set up. Very easy for a first time touchpad user to navigate and learn. Really like not having to download or purchase a lot of "apps" to make it do what I want to do. Purchased it for my daughter, very seriously thinking about keeping it for myself and purchasing another one for her!!!

I have been pleased with the product for my own use. What has been exciting is to watch my three grandchildren ages 1, 1 and 2 use it with some early learning games. They even started going up to the TV now and trying to push things to make them move or play a game. I would hope they can become more available to small children and have more apps available for them to learn with.

I am enjoying this new tablet which compliments the Apple tablet we own. The feel is good and the experience is great. This product has so much potential that WebOS should be maintained for developers to continue to write new apps.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT. Sorry to see it go. Hope HP re-considers and can see the benefits of continuing to support and manufacture this product. Price the Touchpad about $200 for the 16GB and $250 for the 32GB for the holidays and they will fly off the shelf. More apps would help too. Would love to see netflix design an app for the touchpad.

Lack of apps limit this product's capabilities. Camera works well, printing is simple. USB connection makes file transfers easy. Great product for the sale price,I would not pay the original introductory price.

Let me tell you my first impression I bashed HP for creating a subpar unit, minimal support, minimal apps. I bought it becasue we got it for $149 (why not). Once I opened the box fired it up, charged th battery, i was blown away! Faster than any other touch device out there. No touch delays, real time swiping, bootup less that 1-2 seconds!!! I have not fired up my laptop in weeks. I have over 30 apps installed a portion of my music collection, Kindle reader with over 15 books, that were free BTW. These are not junk books either good quality writers. The unit itself is small, lightweight, good looking. The sound system is just as loud if not louder than my laptop speakers. Buttons are ergonomically placed. The battery last 8-10 hours of continuous use, really no lie. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that it is now discontinued and wish there were more apps. Hopefully, the developers will continue to make apps, but I am not unhappy with the apps I have.

As you must have guesses, I bought this in the $99 for16 GB and $150 for 32gb frenzy. I am more than satisfied with my purchase. There are some minor disadvantages like: 1. Even a simple technology like Bluetooth is limited to connect with only other WebOS devices and a very limited number of car Bluetooths. I cannot even connect my blackberry tho this. There should be a way to break this. 2. The browser can be improved alot. For example, options like " opening in a new browser" etc can be greatly improved upon.

I bought the Touchpad with the clear idea on my mind to use it as a backup tablet to the iPad i own and as a testing platform for things that will surely come to market. I would have never buy it with the original price tag above $500, but for 140, yes. It will be a great video player for my kids, a game platform (if any interesting games shows up), and in the mean time, a communications tablet for me on the Road. The hardware i think it is good, after patching and configuring the machine runs fast and great (overclocking, disabling logs, decreasing brightness, eliminating tap ripple!). Charging without cables, with the cradle, is great! As for the software . . . there the starts start falling from the sky (aka, bad performance). The apps are very simple and have very few functions and configuration options. For example, I cannot print to network printers, i cannot delete the deleted mail from the deleted bin all at once, the software doesn't respond immediately to my tap on the screen, sometimes is a delayed response, others the screen reacts to my tapping, but nothing happens, the software doesn't do what it is supposed to, follow a link, click an option. I don't know if the OS is lost within it's labyrinth or that i has problems dealing with the internet. I use the facebook app. for tablet, and it has very interesting functions and display options, but it is a horrible user experience, 1 out of 3 taps actually do something. and if i'm writing something, an accidental tap anywhere on the screen can make you lose all the writing. I'm afraid to use the tablet for real work, as i might suddenly lose important things because nobody in the developing company took the time to fail proof this things. As for tablet improvement system set up by HP, if i want to look for apps, i have to go to at least TWO places (HP catalog and PreWare Catalog, there might be more) creating a mess of a search. The PreWare site and organization is efficient, open and reliable as a source of apps for the pad. But, if in these so many years that the Pre Phone is available (and for which the main bulk of the apps are for), the catalog of apps is so limited and amateurish, i don't have too much faith that there will be productivity apps for the Touchpad other than the basics (for example, i would not expect a PDF annotation app to show up, or a real note taking app). Overall i would say that i'm OK with the hardware but wouldn't pursue any more devices with the Webos OS, unless it goes through major debugging and years of man-hours of optimizing. This system was sent to the market uncooked. On the other hand, there are thousands of touchpads now out there and people might find interesting to produce for that market. Thanks, ps: in spanish, "Webos" has the same phonetics for the translation of "Eggs", and it is usually used to refer to male genitalia. Bad choice of Name!!!!

HP touchpad is an excellent product for business. It is easy to use and can connect to PC an USB device. it is easy to install the applications, connect wifi, and read pdf files. It is prefect choice for business. If HP will provide more applications, it will have a big market. I hope touchpad will have a 3G version and can be developed in the future.

I got this as a gift from my husband when it went on sale at the cheapy price! I am glad he didn't pay more but really it is worth it. I am enjoying the apps that are available to the Touchpad, but I wish developers would create more. That really is my only gripe...

I need a source for the Android drivers to optimize my Android port. I'm almost done with a working dual boot port of Android/WebOS.

With all the other tablets selling for twice or more, this is definitely a great bargain. I do wish there is more apps and better aftermarket support. Although, I think with the # of TPs out there will be a lot more activity/support. I do have a gripe.....why does the TP say "ouch" every time I disconnect it form my computer.....even after it is ejected.

I am sure no any product can beat the price HP TouchPad Wi-Fi offered. I got one but I was surprised to see the amazing things it can do. Multitasking, well that was the greatest features of all. Screen Resolution also looks good. Now I carry it all the time wherever I go. There are already plenty of apps to start with.

I received the Touchpad way after the scheduled delivery date. Upon open up the package, the Touchpad was beyond my imagination. It is good design, fits firmly in my hand and very slick. The downside of this is there are not many apps in the HP store for the Touchpad that I can find useful and the users manual is nowhere to be found. The operating system is easy to use, initial setup is no problem, I had it up and running within 10 minutes. The Touchpad hang on me one time because I did not update the OS to the latest version. I was scared thinking that I bought a junk Touchpad but after searching the internet I knew how to forced reboot it and update to the latest OS version. Since then it runs like a horse, plays video and music as I wanted, and performs all functions as advertised by HP. The sound is unbelievable, awesome if I plug my headphone on. I would buy it again to my family members if I have a chance. Keep up the good work HP.

Hands down there is no better tablet for the price. This tablet clearly is as good as the iPad. Web OS is easy to use and understand. Only hope Web OS is kept up to date.

Very happy w/32GB Touchpad. Performance is great, screen response is very quick, WebOS is excellent - finally something to truly rival the iPad. Would like some more apps, but there are plenty of useful ones available. Considering the $450 I saved vs the 32GB iPad...I couldn't be happier!:)

Better than an iPad
By FishingPilot
I was torn between brand loyalties here - Apple or HP - both are good products and meet my needs. I was leaning toward the iPad simply because I wouldn't have to purchase my apps again (the apps I use on my iPod Touch). Then I tried the HP webOS SDK and the TouchPad emulator. Wow! I was hooked and immediately ordered a 32 gig version. webOS is great! It's even more intuitive that Apple's iOS! It's great how all of the applications work in synergy! Thanks HP! I Plan to purchase another around ...

I am a very techy person and love to have the latest technologies. But honestly I had no need for a tablet, so, I never even considered one. Now my non-techy wife, who harasses me every time I look at a new device, saw an HP commercial about the new TouchPad. I was ready to flip the channel. Much to my surprise, almost jaw-dropping, she perks up and says that she wants one. Puzzled, I started drilling her why. She has a Palm Pre with Sprint and loves the interface. She was impressed enough wi...
