I purchased the $400 installation support and network setup for my new Designjet T830. While purchasing, the customer service person told me that someone would come within 5 business days. We are a mechanical contractor so using wide format prints is a very important part of our daily work. After 5 business days, I called customer service. They could not find my equipment serial number, my service pak for installation, nor my 3 year NBD service pak. I had to send email with pictures of the box and paperwork to prove that I purchased anything. It took me 21 days of calling every day, getting bounced around from department to department (sometimes 8-10 people a day), and talking to multiple supervisors before I could get someone here. I even told them I wanted them to pick it back up and they refused to give me a refund. Very disappointed and frustrated by the way I was treated. I also did not like that everyone I talked to was from a foreign country. I had a very hard time understanding them. I do have to say that the technician that came to perform the installation was very nice and helpful. He was efficient, had a good personality, and knew what he was doing. I was satisfied with him.

It prints well, and quickly, but it required far more calls to support over network issues and other things than our comparable Brother device. I wouldn?t buy this machine again, and HP won?t allow me to return it.

I replaced my Cannon plotter with the HP DesignJet T530 and was disappointed that I have to use HP Click to plot drawing from AutoCad. There is no drivers available and Apple uses a generic printer driver to make the plotter work. What a pain to convert the DWG to a PDF then open Click to plot the D size drawing.

Placed order for unit on 4/13/2020. We have continuing problem with hardware not printing. We purchased onsite hardware customer support. Due to Covid-19 pandemic no one will come out to repair the unit. We are sending the unit back and asking for a replacement.

I always buy the extra support for my large printers. It is worth every penny to know someone can take care of a problem, especially when you are in the middle of an important job and something happens. Even if you never use it, it’s nice to know that it is there in case if emergency.
