This is my fifth HP headset. Have had multiple for different reasons, but two out of five have had bad speakers. The audio would either cut out or not work at all. HP sent me replacement speakers but that didn't fix it meaning it was a problem with the headstrap, or something else internally. They offered for me to send it to them for repair, but that's not optimal for a $600 VR, especially if you're using it for business. That problem should give this headset a 1. On the ones that didn't have that problem, I rate it a 5. For the price it has great quality screens, and tracking. I wish HP would make a G3 and really improve on what they've learned being in the VR space for the past 7 years. I also wish they would drop Windows Mixed Reality for that next headset. I heard HP is going to be discontinuing this headset and getting out of the market, which is unfortunate because they have a really good headset here that just needs a few tweaks. The speakers themselves are really good and some of the best for VR (for the ones that work). Aside from the speaker problems, this is a great headset that I would recommend people to get.

After doing several hours of research, I settled on this VR headset for a handful of reasons. The biggest reason was that I didn't want to spend over $1,000 on a headset when I'm not going to be using it all the time. I get motion sick quite easily from VR movement, so I think I'm a bit more limited than some people in how many games I can comfortably play on this device, and I don't have a lot of other uses for it at the moment. After using the Reverb G2 for a few hours, I have discovered that it is indeed a very good product for people getting into VR on a budget. Of course Meta has headsets that are stand-alone for a similar price tag as the Reverb G2, however I do not really have any need for a stand-alone headset (see motion sickness comment above), I prefer the higher quality of PCVR, and I really really do NOT like Meta as a company. So, I opted not to support Meta and went with this headset instead. So far this product has worked pretty well! It's comfortable to wear and functions exactly as expected. The only major drawback I've noticed is the lenses. I can only see a super sharp image when I'm looking straight ahead. While the FOV is decent and the resolution is great, the image gets blurry and I see a lot of aberration whenever I look away from the center of the screen. This is not ideal for an immersive experience, but I understand the technology is limited in some ways, so it is what it is. Also, the controllers may lose tracking when they aren't generally in front of you, which isn't all that common and therefore is hardly noticeable for me. Lastly, the cable that it comes with to connect to a PC is kinda stiff and heavy, but not to the point of being so annoying that I don't want to use it. At the end of the day, the drawbacks were totally worth the exceptionally low cost of the Reverb G2. If I wanted to get a higher quality VR headset, it would have cost me over 3X the price of this G2, which is simply not worth it for me right now. Maybe sometime down the road a bit it will make sense to spend that much on VR, but for the time being I'll happily stick with the Reverb G2 for my occasional PCVR needs.

Headset is great. Very clear lens and screen and audio is perfect. Controllers however really kneecap this otherwise great headset. Ergonomics and buttom design are way behind the competition.

Very easy to use and high-quality product. My 4th VR headset after the PS VR version 1, and the first 2 Quest models. I love the image quality and ease of use with Steam VR. Everything hardware-wise feels very solid. If I had any complaints it would just be a mild one about the cable. It is definitely noticeable during use, but it's not a big deal. I can easily adjust it behind myself and move on; plus I like the heft of it - it feels dependable. I love that sound is built in so I don't have to wear headphones over the top and the sound is great.

This was my first experience with VR. My purpose was to use it for flying MS Flight Simulator. Pros: Set up was easy and it worked right away. It was fun to see things in 3D. The screen door effect was there but not too bad. Cons: The resolution on my 4070 Ti GPU was just okay in comparison to my 4k monitor. The clear middle visual field sweet spot was small. Everything outside that was blurry for me. The lens fogged up quickly for me and I found myself having to wipe with a microfiber cloth frequently. I found the device to be heavy and the wire cumbersome. This might be true with all VR headsets but I wouldn't know. I think overall it worked well for what it is, but for my intents and purposes it didn't work well for me. My triple 4k monitor setup feels more immersive and clear when compared to VR with this headset. I ended up returning it.

These are one of the best VR headsets you can get for your moneys worth. The resolution of the displays are so good it's like having a 4k monitor infront of your eyes at all times where you can almost barely see any pixels. I also like how there's no need for base stations which means you can get away with a vr setup in a tiny space. The build quality is decent, I haven't noticed anything other than a scratch on my left lense but it isn't noticeable while I'm using it although it was a bit disappointing to see this when I just bought it. One of the biggest gripe I have with this even though it's not technically hps fault is how bad Windows Mixed Reality is. It's too bad you need it to run this headset. Everything about the software feels like a work in progress. It's buggy and sometimes crashes and it just feels like Microsoft doesn't care for it at all.

I have had this headset, since launch and in my opinion it is still the best PCVR headset on the market. All the standalone headsets are way to heavy with their battery packs. I largely play sims, and what I want is light weight, comfort, and high visual quality for long gaming sessions, and this headset delivers. Would buy again, and if they make a G3 I will buy it, assuming they don't give in to the current fad of making heavy cumbersome wireless headsets. Also as of this posting I looked into upgrading, with a budget of $2000, and there is nothing I currently want, so I decided to write a review with how pleased I am with this product.

My rating is based on comparison between the Reverb G2 V2 and the "other popular headset" when using them both for Flight Simulator 2020. The Reverb G2 is only slightly better visually than the "other popular headset" using a link Cable. If you own "the other popular headset", it's not worth the upgrade.

What I like? I'm 74 years old with most if not all of my faculties. Guess what? I Followed the instructions, rather than my ego and ya know what? Flying MSFS is a Freekin lot easier doing VR. Yep I'm a newb but at that as well. I'm just sayin

Love this headset. I had the Oculus Rift, Quest and Quest 2. This is way better! I wish I had discovered it years ago. The price drop convinced my to try it. Now I'll never go back!

Great hardware let down by the software but at $400 its still compelling for PCVR. The biggest upgrade they could offer would be to have it support SteamVR without HP software running in the background. I constantly get unnecessary popups from the HP software while in game, and it can't be helping performance.

Pretty sweet for simracing. Very clear because of the resolution and mostly easy to use and set up. Just wish the flashlight feature was a full passthrough instead of a small circle.

I've been using my HPR G2 for a year. I am very satisfied with it. The build quality is very good, the comfort is excellent and the sound excellent too. Setup is easy on Windows 10 with either Mixed Reality Portal or SteamVR. I always use it seated so I can't comment on its qualities in standing action games. For having discussed with several other users with helmets of various brands and models, the HPR G2 still remains the best value for money.

Windows Mixed Reality sucks but the hardware is great. You will need OpenXR Tools to configure it properly.

Setup was a pain. It's unfortunate that the headset requires Windows Mixed Reality, since features don't seem to work consistently. It would be better if the Reverb could run on Steam VR alone. If your lighting or furniture changes, the headset will forget your room boundaries, fade to gray, and possibly crash Steam VR. When that happens, you may as well restart your whole computer, because you won't be able to launch any apps from WMR after that. The headset settings are not optimized out of the box. Good luck trying to research the correct driver/wmr/steam vr configurations to work around stuttering lag. I have only found opinions, not answers. With all that said, when it works, it's pretty awesome. Not requiring a Facebook account is an A+ feature, and along with the sale price, that was what sold me on the Reverb over competitors. No Man's Sky is gorgeous and immersive... until you turn your shoulders and the screen turns gray. Beat Saber works, but framerate degrades over time, even with my RX 6800 GPU. I have had to return half of the VR titles I purchased because the controllers aren't compatible. I got it on sale for $399.00. I wouldn't recommend paying more than that unless they fix the compatibility issues.

The fact that you make a vr headset and you also make the most powerful console in the world and didn't even make it compatible blows my mind. Huge fail microsoft.

I enjoy how there are built in speakers with the visor. Have not tested on all my games but the games I have used it on works wonderfully.

Had it for a week. Set up went smoothly with a little googling. DCS world is amazing with this! I currently have an Nvidia gtx 1070, so running at half resolution. Game play is smooth, but the labels in the cockpit are hard to read. I have a 4070 ti on order, so looking forward to that! Will update if anything changes.

Horrible Quality Power Cable! I had mine for about a year and suddenly it stopped working. Of course it is out of warranty and now I'm out $120 for another cable that will have equally as horrible quality. Thanks for nothing, HP. You should recall this cable.

Finally found this headset on sale in Canada. It is one of the best and certainly THE best in its price range! Only mild complaint would be the FOV. I'll get used to it and the trade off for absolute clarity is worth it in my opinion.

Big improvement from my Oculus Rift S

Needed a new headset since Oculus is making users have a facebook account in January in order to keep using it. I refuse because I will never have a stupid "Meta" account. This headset looks way better, and has been a huge improvement.
