Very lovely color. Otherwise, the manufacturing of this product wasted more than just money: labor, energy, materials, time. But a calculator, pen and pencil instead of this garbage.

I bought two of these brand new off Amazon and they totally suck! The hard drive is so small that I can't even update to Windows 10 on one of them. The other says its connected to wireless and the driver works, but wireless doesn't show up in the tray and it won't connect to the internet. I've had them for about two months and can't return them. They will be going into the trash now as they are useless garbage! Waste of money!!!

I do certainly agree that this is a good deal for an entree level computer. It has all of the features of a decent hp or other cheap companies notebooks, such as a ok keyboard with a basic layout and a great windows precison trackpad. On the outside it has good features but when you get on the inside, do not expect it to be a powerhouse. Also dont expect to add ram or change storage later down the line since it is not upgradable. It is great for surfing the web(assuming you only have 2 - 3 tabs open) but do NOT expect to have alot of stock internal storage for downloading other things. It says it comes with 21 gigabytes of storage but after installing windows and all the updates you are left with 2 - 3 gigabytes of storage to download things like games and other software. In all it is a good computer for people who are just beginning with a laptop, or for someone who only wants to surf the web and do light video streaming. On the other hand DO NOT BUY if you are searching for a computer with good ram, storage and a better processor because this will be a night mare for you if you think that it will work for using editing software or gaming.

This laptop does the job though wish the support from HP and Microsoft was better. Everyone who wrote about Windows 10 being a hog and filling up the hard drive is true. But it's not necessary to switch to Linux. If you boot the computer up and delete everything and start from scratch you'll be able to install the latest version of WIndows 10 and then have decent (7 or 8 GB) room to spare. Will probably have to do that every year or so when the updates fill it up but I can now live with that knowing the less than $200 price point. Only wish HP and Microsoft would have helped me figure out that solution as both were only too quick to recommend I buy a new laptop or install a larger hard drive.

The specs for the price is hard to beat. Running Windows 10 this is a 2 star machine. With Ubuntu linux it is a 5 star buy. The 32GB of storage is not enough for Windows 10 to update fully given the default software that comes with the stream. This makes the computer unacceptably insecure and will annoy many. Besides that Windows runs slow and you can't save anything to the hard drive as Windows takes up all the space. The only solution is delete everything on the hard drive and install linux. Ubuntu 18.04 will install problem free if you change the BIOS boot order to usb first and disable secure boot. Not only will the stream run much faster with Ubuntu but it can easily update fully, is more secure than Windows and you will have 20GB of free space on the hard drive.

I’ve had this for less than 10 days and it acts like one I’ve had for years. I mean I know it’s a cheap costing machine, but I can tell it’s not going to last long. It already freezes up!

This computer is a joke. HP is a joke. Their outsourced customer service reps were no help in trying to resolve my issues with this slow as molasses’s computer. Just don’t buy this. It’s garbage and extremely slow.

The memory is so small that the Windows 10 updates won't even go on it. I called HP and they told me it was a Windows problem. Microsoft and my computer tech said the hard drive is too small. Not worth the money that I paid for it. I wanted a small lightweight computer to take on trips.

Windows 10 is so bloated that it takes up all but 3 or 4 GB of the total available 32 GB drive on this machine, leaving little room for other apps. And now that Microsoft had the brilliant idea to force their software updates in a single 8 GB download - which requires 4 GB more space than exists in the first place - this machine will only work until the next Windows update. Then you will go into a never-ending loop of being told to free up disk space again and again and again. This computer is not suitable to run Windows 10 and it will be rendered useless very quickly.

The operating system takes up like 16.5 gb. There are 32 gb of hard drive. Need I say more?

I posted a detailed review with the pictures to prove the problems with a 32GB hardrive computer running on Windows 10. I was ignorant when I made my purchase and learned the hardway. My review dissapeared in 5 minutes with a phony 5 star review in it's place. I'm taking a screen shot of this review in case it gets deleted as well. I will try reposting my original review tommorow and we will see what happens .

This laptop only has 30GB space 25-27GB of which is taken by Windows 10 Home. Well, the newest Windows 10 update requires an additional 8GB of space just to run the update. After a service call to Microsoft, they requested I contact HP for additional space because without that I cannot run the update. So, I suffer through the update warnings 10 times or more a day. Extremely aggravating that HP will sell a laptop with Windows 10 but not provide the minimum space required for any Windows 10 updates.

I purchased the Stream 6 months ago to backup photos on an international trip using external flash memory. For this task it worked well. The new Windows 10 Upgrade required hp support to get 8 GB free and now I only have 4 GB free after compressing the drive and removing all none Windows 10 files and McAfee. I expect to have to trash it before I renew Office 360 or McAfee at 1 year due to zero available RAM drive. Not good planning by hp or me.

I get that this is a cheaper laptop, and I’ve had it for a little while now; but I completely regret not returning it and saving up a little bit more. It may be able to do VERY basic functions, like looking some stuff up(though it has problems even doing that). For any actual work, it is completely useless. It barely has the storage to download the Microsoft Office apps, to where I can’t have anything else downloaded. Then, it constantly tries to update, though it doesn’t have the memory, and I’m trying to update: crashes the “laptop” and then I can’t do anything. If you plan on getting it, trust me, just get a little more expensive laptop; it’ll be worth it. I’m currently just waiting to have the money to offload this piece of junk and get an actually good laptop.

This computer is slow, has not enough memory to run an upgrade and so little installed ram most programs won't run alone. in the end I was going to use this as a MP3 player but it won't even do that without buffering. I don't know what HP was thinking when they build this.

I bought this laptop in Aug. 2017 and was intending on using this for college classes. As a single mom, I only take 3 courses per semester. That being said, with less than 2GB of files I have put on the laptop I cannot do a Windows 10 upgrade because the laptop is completely OUT of disk space. I’ve had this laptop less than 6 months and it already is completely useless. I was hoping to be able to exchange and upgrade to the HP Spectre x360, but they will not exchange after a MONTH. Now thinking on trying the IPad Pro in hopes of better customer service.

I bought one of these expecting it to be unusable due to its specs but I was very wrong. It turns on very quickly and the battery lasts a very long time. The performance is amazing for the price. Every website I have used so far loads super fast and almost never lags. Even some games work great on it. It's also a really good laptop for school because of the portability and long battery life. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a good computer and doesn't want to spend hundreds of dollars.

This was a mistake to buy. There is not enough space to do anything. I had to add the new Windows update and it wouldn't let me because there wasn't enough space. awful.

Minimal use computer with reasonably good construction. No noticeable improvements over my old HP Stream. Same old style power supply, minimal eMMC/storage, no power button light making it hard to tell if it is on when screen is dark.

Do not buy this. Tried to set one up for a relative, it will fail to work when Windows 10 updates, or if you install any software. 32GB of drive space is not enough for Windows 10, much less with Office installed. Avoid.

When you get it at first you like the color then you wish it was like a normal grey or black. Little games that I sometimes (not anymore) play on it either crash or lag throughout the whole thing to. The only thing it does is look up stuff which pulling out your phone is quicker and it won’t load as long as the computer.

I was SO excited one year ago to find this small, lightweight travel laptop at the great price. I keep NO files on it (all are on SD card) so the only thing taking up space on hard drive is Windows and now it is not functional at all b/c of MS Windows updates that it can't install. HP support basically said "tough luck" call Microsoft. Microsoft says I shouldn't have bought a computer with so little space! No way to expand HD, no way to stop Windows updates so I am STUCK with a beautiful looking laptop that doesn't work! Don't buy this - there is no workaround if you use Windows

The main reason I bought this computer was to type up work reports at home. However, within the 1st 3 days it stopped working. You could tell it was on, but the screen was black. I took it back to Wal-Mart where I purchased it. The 2nd one that I currently have has a spacebar that is hard to push when typing, so words are often jumbled together. There is also a lag when typing, which when I read the reviews, I saw only one person mention this. I didn't think much of it. However, it is definitely a problem if you are not a slow typer. (I am not a slow typer.) Since that's the main reason I bought it, it's quite obnoxious. I do love the look, size, and weight of it and it has all if the functions I was looking for. I just wish it would work properly.

This thing sucks! it doesn't have enough memory for windows, it takes forever to turn on and off and the screen has such a bad viewing angle that if you bump it half a degree left it is virtually impossible to see. We bought this as a computer for browsing the web, but it barely manages two tabs without freezing!

This is a well build machine that I use for my travel computer. At $200 I am not real worried about it getting lost, stolen or broken. I REFUSE to use Windows. I have loaded both Debian and openBSD on this machine and have been very satisfied with the computers ability to run these OS's. This is a well built computer that I have used for over a year and I am very happy with the decision to purchase this computer. The speakers are a little weak and the screen has a limited viewing angle. This computer is a good value for the price.

This is the best laptop on the market for the price. Wireless a/c, Blutooth 4.0, 3.1 usb port. It has around 9 GB free space after downloadind hp updates and Microsft Office. Stop at this point. Insert 3.1 usb flash 64 GB or higher if it´ s nessiccary for you . 64GB works perfect for me. Go to settings in Windows. Go to storage. Change all options to save to usb flash that is in the 3.1 usb port. There are usb drives that only stick out of the port maybe 1/4 of an inch. This way the bigge lon...

I honestly don't know why people are giving this laptop a terrible review. If you're trying to do much more than the basic tasks, yeah, this isn't the laptop for you. Personally, I bought this laptop for school purposes only. It loads fast, internet is great on it, I've never had a problem. I don't keep files on my laptop. This is how it keeps it running clean. Anything I do need is on my One Drive, flash drive, or my desktop computer. But for portability, basic tasks, and school or travel pu...
