This machine was-- very hard for me to operate. But thankfully I got some help with it from the neighbors. I'm still not proficient with it and they're feel somewhat unqualified to review. But I'm happy with the items we created. Things do ruin smoothly if you understand all commands. Is recommend for anyone who loves LARGE machines to try out and create cool stupid worth.

There's a lot of great proa to this large format printer: The quality of the print is superb at a fraction of a cost and the print times are decent with a moderate print speed. This printer is reliable if you're a small creator that doesn't need industrial level printing. The best part is that if you encounter any issues you can reach out to support to get things sorted out.

I bought this printer about 4 months ago, and have already spent about 15 hours on the phone with tech support. After all these hours, tech support said I would just have to live with a constant error code. We have numerous designjet printers in our office, and for some reason this one gets a new error every week. The boot time is usually about 30 minutes and to put a new printhead in uses about 10% of the incredibly expensive ink.

Isn't his printer and cutter one you would suggest for a new business, vastly growing much quicker then expected. But can I print out sublimation or even DTF films??

Print quality is good, however the printer shuts off by itself and take 15+ minutes to turn back on. I have a slightly older, larger format Designjet z5600 as well, and it never fails. It is always on and when it needs to reboot does it promptly. If I had known this printer would not stay turned on and took 15+ minutes to reboot I would have saved myself the $3300 for the printer and extra ink and went elsewhere.

The slowest printer I have used to boot up. Is it too much software for the processor? Great graphics if you aren't in a hurry.

I was hoping for better quality With 6 ink cartridges I expected much better quality from the Z6 than my 17 year old HP500. This printer is not worth the extra money it costs over basic large format printers.

Nice features, good price. I through an error code right out of the box. HP has opted sending a tech to fix versus sending a new printer. The Tech has been out 3 times now, almost drained all of our toner printing test pages, and we have yet to print for ourselves. The pages the Tech prints are beautiful!! Just can't wait to get the issues resolved. I wish HP would have just sent a new unit - or at least toner cartridges since they are expensive!!!

It replaced the HP Designjet T610 that we used for 12 years printing architectural drawings. Right out of the shipping box and after the initial setup we printed several sets of drawings. I am very impressed with the new advanced features as shown on the keypad. I know for certain my next printer or plotter will be a HP!

Printer came in well packaged and was relatively easy to put together. Initial setup was rough due to bad software and counter intuitive procedures. I installed everything, including ink and print heads before starting up the printer for the first time, and had to remove them and restart the printer a few times in order to complete the setup. Printer takes a long time to restart, they could have equipped it with an SSD at this price point. During initial setup, there is a section that tries to trick you into allowing the printer to spy on you. It is not obvious that you can opt out of it. Tracking usage and phoning back home should never be "opt-out", this is a shady practice and makes me less likely to consider HP products in the future. Printer requested firmware to be updated after initial setup was completed. I already had that downloaded (it's a whopping 1.6 gigabytes) and the update went smoothly. Printer drivers installed without problems on multiple PC's running Linux, Windows 7 and Malware 10, and work fine so far. Print speed and quality are excellent. The biggest problem we encountered so far is with the printer's software. We had a number of prints where the printer was requesting a paper different from what was loaded and it was impossible to leave that screen to change the paper or cancel the print. The only option was to load the paper we don't have or turn off the the printer and start it up again. That is very annoying since printer takes a long time to start up again. That is not the only situation where you run into screens that you can't get out of without restarting the printer completely, and the lack of any physical buttons to cancel printing or return to home menu adds to the frustration. The good thing is, that software can be fixed. Question is, if that will ever happen.
