Shopper : FM Quality/Range...pick up our favorite FM station. will this work?JOHN E : yes it worksKEITH M : I have noticed no problem with FM reception, but I live in a large city and my favorite station is local. The only thing that annoys me about this unit is that the tuner is an analog dial (why not use the ten-key pad to enter the radio station - my prior clock radio did that), and it is on the bottom of the right-hand side. That might not be a problem, but the switch to select alarm modes is a slide switch on the bottom of the unit. The unit is so light that you need to brace it to change the alarm mode switch, and the most convenient place to brace it is right where the FM tuner dial lies, making it easy to accidentally mess up the tuning. Fortunately, static wakes me up as well - if if less pleasantly - as does music.DAVID C : FM reception seems to be average for radios of this type.CHRISTOPHER L : A GREAT alarm clock.....but I have never used it as a radio
Shopper : How long does the battery last? Does the clock plug in to the wall to recharge battery?JOHN G : Have not owned long enough to know back-up battery life. Back-up battery is not being re-charged while device is on AC power.MELODY C : I haven't had it very long, so I can't say how long the battery will last - but they claim in the instructions it should last several years at least (depending on how long you have the clock plugged in but without power). For extended battery life, they recommend you unplug the clock any time the power is out to its outlet. As to recharging the battery, my understanding is that this battery is not rechargeable. If it ever runs out, you'd likely have to replace it.CHRIS A : To begin, I Love This Clock! It has all of the features that I was looking for. Direct keypad time entry (no scrolling through all 24 hours just to set the time/alarms). Dual alarms. Battery backup. Automatic clock setting. Ceiling/wall projection. Digital radio. "Atmosphere" alarms. Fantastic! It was back ordered and I waited almost 3 months for delivery but it was worth it!
I'm not sure how long the battery lasts as I have not had the power go out for an extended time since I've owned it. The battery is a large "coin" style type and is not rechargeable as far as I know. It is used to keep all of your settings and to activate a wake-up alarm even if the power is off. When the power comes back on after an interruption, it quickly resumes normal operation - you may not have even know that the power went off!
Bottom line - it's a wonderful alarm clock and worth every penny. I haven't seen another one like it.JANETTE W : The alarm clock plugs into a regular outlet as the primary power source. The battery is just a temporary back-up in case of a power outage. The battery is a 3V lithium battery, type CR2450 (looks like a watch-type battery). Not sure how long it lasts...but the clock has a low battery indicator that will let you know when to replace it. Hope this info helps!DAVID C : The clock does plug into the wall, however, it does not recharge the battery, which is a non-rechargeable lithium type. According to the manual, the battery will last 5 to 8 years before you have to replace it.LIAM M : I had to return the unit that was sent to me as many of the lines on the time display were half as bright as the others.
