Review Summary

I spend hours photographing what I see and a significant amount of time in post-production (Monitor calibration included). All this said, I am not happy until I see a print worthy of hanging on a wall where the print will last for years. My choice of paper is Hahnemuhle 300gsm FineArt Baryta Satin Photo Paper. Actual color or B&W. The prints pop.

Final prints have great quality, gloss and texture. Make sure you download the specific paper profile from Hahnemuhle to your printer or Lightroom to ensure accurate printing. Printing with approximate profiles will not produce the best results.

This inkjet fine art paper has the characteristics and feel of a traditional silver halide fiber based paper. It really absorbs the ink from my Pixma Pro-100 so I have learned to print a bit lighter than my monitor for best results. The shadow areas do tend to "dry up" a little lighter after an hour or so. The baryta satin has a nice soft finish. Great paper!

This is the best photo paper I have ever used…deep blacks, crisp detail and true to life color…draw back…cost but worth it if you sell your work...

Is it ok to love a paper? I don't know and I don't care. This Baryta Satin looks lovely with landscapes. I prefer a more textured luster for my wildlife shots. Landscapes, I'll sell them on luster paper but if it's going on my wall it's Hahnemuhle Fineart Baryta Satin...

This is a beautiful paper. It prints as glossy (PG), but has only a slight gloss. I've been converting die-hard matte paper folks lately. Works well on a Canon Pro-100 (dye-based ink) as well as Epson 3880 & P800 (pigment). Highly recommended.

A friend recommended this paper and I am very happy with the results. High quality feel and look using this paper with my Cannon Pro 10. Ink is expensive, use paper that gives the best possible results.

This paper is simply amazing, the finish provides a slight gloss and the color depth is great, black blacks and deep rich tones. The paper it’s self is thick and holds up well to both dye and pigment based inks. My only gripe is a small one, it can be a little challenging figuring out which side is coated at first but once you handle the paper enough it comes to you. I started out with 25 sheets and already ordered another 100, I’m going to stick with this for awhile now. Highly recommended.

FineArt Baryta Satin is a baryta paper with a white, satin-gloss surface. The amount of barium sulphate in the coating in conjunction with a microporous ink-receiving layer provides exceptional image results with large color space and intensive coloring. FineArt Baryta Satin enables extremely deep blacks (Dmax), excellent image sharpness and is perfect for black-and-white photography. Compatible with pigmented and dye inkjet systems.
