This paper is absolutely gorgeous for either color or monochrome printing. The baryta coating gives the look and feel of the darkroom papers I used to love using and the extra weight really impresses clients when they hold the prints. Excellent choice for that special portfolio edition or just to make your images look special. Highly recommended.

I have used Hahnemuhle's Photo Rag and the Hi Gloss Baryta for everything that i print for ?? 15 years. And have made enough prints to create 25 portfolios, or approx 4000 prints. So why this paper? I print optical resolution and 16 bit depth on my Epson 3880 or use a service bureau for larger works with my prints as the guide to match.. The weight of the paper is respectively 308 and 325 gsm, enough weight and body that i can make any print without any evidence of waves or buckling from the pigment saturation, metamerism or any visual evidence of pigment sitting on top of the surface and below is not an issue with either product, mat or glossy. The uptake of the pigments is uniform and the images look and feel utterly believable and impossible to differentiate from the something like a graded Ilfobrom or galerie silver halide print. The paper is something i have made 8'foot prints on as well as my usual 13/19" sizes. With calibration of the monitor and using Hahnemuhle's custom profile for each paper, I am very happy with the match. I began printing on Epson "archival" mat, which was a disaster as the prints couldn't handle the quantity of ink and rippled quite badly. So, Hahnemuhle has become my standard and life is easier with a consistant standard because then your point of comparison over time is about your printer, monitor, software and taste. I am old school and believe it or not looking at an image on the trans-illuminated monitor image is not the same thing as a reflection density print. So include printing in your work flow process. Trust me on that, please. Practice, practice, practice, that is where the gift is. Thanks for the opportunity to review this product.
