I have some landscape images that were selected to be in an art exhibit at a museum in Spokane, Washington. Naturally, I want the images to look their very best for this exhibit. I had previously purchased a Hahnemuhle sample pack of fine art paper and I test printed the images using both Hahnemuhle, Canon, Ilford and Museo papers. I found that the Hahnemuhle Photo Ultra Smooth Matte paper had the sharpest look with great contrast and detail throughout. I have decided to make this paper my number one matte paper . Adorama gave me a great deal on the paper too. I love shopping with Adorama....their service is awesome !

I bought this paper to make proofs for a gallery showing on larger sheets of the same paper and I am thoroughly pleased with the quality of the paper. The ink from my Canon Pro-10 looks nicely saturated (after boosting the colors a bit in Photoshop) and details look very sharp. I look forward to printing portraits with it. My only concern is that even with correct manufacturer recommended/supplied ICC profiles, the colors seem to need a bit of a boost to compensate for the thickness of the paper. Sharpen your image so that it looks slightly crispy on your monitor to get good detail definition. That's nothing against this particular paper, just the nature of the beast. Custom profiles would be especially useful with this paper type.
