When I tested the setup before using the housing, the lens hit the lens port some of the time, but not every time. I limited the use of the zoom to avoid this problem once in the water. I handed the camera to my wife and she did not know about the limit. When she zoomed all the way out the lens hit. The instructions say to to press the on off button to restart if this happens. This did not fix the problem. I had to return to the boat and remove the camera from the case to reset the camera. This is the only underwater case I have used that had this problem, and if I had known of the problem before purchase I would not have spent $ on this case.

I have no point of comparison, as this is the first camera housing I've bought. I've used it on two dives so far (70' and 30') and the photos I took were flawless. The Ikelite was incredibly easy to use and the seals felt great, so I wasn't worried about my camera.

Incredible photos!

I have no point of comparison, as this is the first camera housing I've bought. I've used it on two dives so far (70' and 30') and the photos I took were flawless. The Ikelite was incredibly easy to use and the seals felt great, so I wasn't worried about my camera.
The TG-5 is one of our favorite cameras to shoot underwater and we're sure it will be one of yours too. This kit provides everything you need to hit the water and start taking super sharp, vibrant photos.
Olympus Tough TG-5 Camera
The TG-5 has a fast 25-100mm mid-range zoom lens with a macro mode that can provide DSLR-quality super macro results. The TG-5 supports ultra HD 4K video and RAW image capture, which is a powerful tool for post-dive color corrections using either Adobe Lightroom or the included software. The TG-5 is waterproofed to 50' (15.2m) even without a housing, which makes set-up a little less stress-inducing
ULTRA Compact Underwater Housing
This housing is designed for a deeper depth rating and more robust handling than the comparable Olympus brand model. The front of the lens port has a standard 67mm thread for the direct attachment of most popular wide angle and macro wet lenses. Controls are provided for all important camera functions. A side-mounted trigger-type shutter lever is more comfortable to use than top mounted styles.
DS51 Strobe with RC1 TTL Receiver
The DS51 strobe with RC1 TTL Receiver are the perfect companions to the TG-5 system. The RC1 allows the camera to communicate timing information directly to the DS51 strobe. Compared to other slave TTL systems, the RC1 provides more accurate exposure, improves camera battery life, and allows you to take more photos faster. The DS51 accepts 4 AA batteries (not included) and is super compact and lightweight.
Due to the position of the camera's flash in relation to its lens, the built-in flash is not suitable to illuminate photos under water.
Action Tray II with Quick Release Handle
The included tray is designed to be super slim and streamlined for comfortable use underwater and ease of travel. The Quick Release Handle features a cushy rubber over-molded grip and our signature quick detachment point for the included ball arm.
The housing's shutter trigger lever may be extended using the optional Trigger Extension # 4077.93 for more comfortable use when using a Right-Hand Quick Release Handle # 2605.05 (extension and right-hand handle sold separately).
The hard anodized aluminum ball arm is more flexible and versatile than arms using pop bead style or "flex" components. The ball arm system provides a huge variety of mounting options for attachment of optional focus lights and other accessories.
Wide Angle, Macro + Filters
Our 3" diameter ports feature a 67mm thread on the front for the easy attachment of external wide angle and macro wet lenses. Wide angle lenses make objects appear smaller, so that you can fit more into your frame underwater. Macro close-up lenses make small objects appear larger, so that tiny creatures will fill your frame.
The DC1 6" Dome Port # 6401 offers the best of everything: wide angle, macro, and over-under all on one dive. This special dome port replaces the housing's standard port and provides sharp 25mm wide angle, full zoom through and macro capabilities, and is perfect for split shots (half-in, half-out of the water).
The WD-3 Wide Angle Dome # 6430.3 attaches to the front of the standard port and provides mid-range angle of view with no vignetting (dark shadows in the corners of the image).
The W-30 Wide Angle Lens # 6430, INON UWL-H100, and other 67mm threaded wide angle lenses, provide a wider maximum angle of view. Because these are separated from the camera's lens by glass, air, and water, some vignetting and edge distortion will be present. These effects can be reduced or eliminated by using a smaller aperture, zooming in slightly, and/or cropping in post-production.
External macro lenses with 67mm threads from INON, Epoque, and other manufacturers, can be attached directly to the front of the housing's port. 3" diameter color filters press directly onto these ports. Most wide angle lenses require a 3.6" diameter color filter. Refer to the product page for information on color filter compatibility.
