Review Summary

When I tested the setup before using the housing, the lens hit the lens port some of the time, but not every time. I limited the use of the zoom to avoid this problem once in the water. I handed the camera to my wife and she did not know about the limit. When she zoomed all the way out the lens hit. The instructions say to to press the on off button to restart if this happens. This did not fix the problem. I had to return to the boat and remove the camera from the case to reset the camera. This is the only underwater case I have used that had this problem, and if I had known of the problem before purchase I would not have spent $ on this case.

I have no point of comparison, as this is the first camera housing I've bought. I've used it on two dives so far (70' and 30') and the photos I took were flawless. The Ikelite was incredibly easy to use and the seals felt great, so I wasn't worried about my camera.

Where adventure meets technology, the Ikelite Underwater Action Housing for Canon PowerShot G7X Mark II X Camera is your perfect companion. Designed with a focus on water sports and travel, this compact and lightweight housing is built to withstand the elements while providing professional-grade underwater photography capabilities.
The Ikelite Action Housing is not just for surface-level photography. It boasts a scuba and free-diving depth rating of 200 feet (60m), making it an ideal choice for deep-sea explorers. Despite its robust capabilities, the compact design ensures it won't add excessive bulk to your backpack, making it a practical choice for the outdoor adventurer.
This hard-cased housing offers protection and functionality far superior to plastic bag alternatives. It features a scratch-resistant glass lens port that allows full use of the camera's zoom range without vignetting. The front of the port is designed to accept press-on color correcting filters and is 67mm threaded for the attachment of optional accessories.
Crafted from a custom ABS-PC blend with acetyl controls, the housing provides strength, UV protection, and fundamentally corrosion-free performance. A central 1/4-20 tripod mount on the bottom of the housing serves as the perfect attachment point for stabilizing trays and constant-on lighting.
The Ikelite Underwater Action Housing ensures you have access to all important camera functions, including the menu and manual white balance. The functions are clearly engraved with the same symbols that are on the camera, ensuring the markings will never fade or fall off.
For those diving below about 60ft/18m or at night, adding a light with a high lumens rating and a very wide, even beam is recommended to help your camera focus and boost the colors in your photos and video.
The housing's 3-inch diameter ports feature a 67mm thread on the front for the easy attachment of external wide angle and macro wet lenses. External macro lenses with 67mm threads from INON, Epoque, and other manufacturers can be attached directly to the front of the housing's port.
Made in the USA and individually tested for fit, function, and waterproof integrity, the Ikelite Underwater Action Housing for Canon PowerShot G7X Mark II X Camera is less than 1/2 the weight and significantly smaller than a traditional underwater housing.
Whether you're capturing wide-angle shots of underwater landscapes or focusing on the minute details of tiny sea creatures, this housing ensures you never miss a moment of your underwater adventures.
