The QuickPan Professional is a precise, accurate, rugged yet affordable multi-row tripod head that will meet and exceed your panoramic photography needs. A fully adjustable & adaptable tripod head that will work with your camera today & your camera of tomorrow, thus there's no need to purchase extra components when you get a new camera. The QuickPan Professional retains our modular design approach, consisting of a separate QuickPan Pro Rotator base & a QuickPan Pro Elevator assembly.

The QuickPan Pro is a completely new design that addresses the requirement for unparalleled adjustability & extreme levels of accuracy & precision. We've developed a completely new indexing mechanism, named WedgeLock, that eschews conventional spring plunger designs. Spring plungers, even those used on other "precision" tripod heads, require certain levels of clearance in order to work. With careful design & expensive machining, it is possible to minimize this clearance & attain acceptable levels of rigidity.

It's easy to design a very expensive & precise tripod head, but here at Kaidan, we decided to take an alternative path. Using knowledge gained in over 12 years of selling panoramic tripod heads, we created a rigid wedge-locking mechanism that indexes in both azimuth & elevation. The result is the new QuickPan Professional offering a new level of precision & performance that no other panoramic tripod head can match, at any price.

Depending on the weight of your camera, your tripod & the ground surface you can expect sub-degree level of accuracy. We're still assembling statistical data based on varying weights & surfaces; but we've consistently seen repeatable results in the plus-minus 1/10 of 1 degree range with typical DLSR cameras & quality sturdy tripods on hard ground conditions.

A quick release provides an easy way to securely & accurately mount the camera onto the tripod head so that it can be attached & removed easily, while maintaining registration. Of course, the downside to a quick release is that very often you need to purchase an expensive camera specific plate. In these days of rapidly changing camera technologies, it soon becomes clear that the professional will need to own many camera specific plates.

We've managed to incorporate all the benefits of a quick release plate directly on the swing arm of the tripod head. Each QuickPan Pro comes with adjustable sliding PlaceHolders that slide & securely lock along the length of the swing arm, conforming to the camera's unique base profile. Once you've mounted & adjusted your camera, the PlaceHolders maintain the location of the camera at all times.

You can remove & reattach your camera at will, always sure that it will be in the same exact position every time. There are also PlaceHolders on the horizontal beam structure of the head. These are used to maintain the exact location of the vertical elevation assembly in the exact, calibrated position every time.
