Shopper : I'm just curious as to how good this schneider zoom lens is and how the results look? Thanking you in adavance; JoeJAN P : The zoom is great! One of the reasons I bought this camera was because I wanted a bigger zoom than the compact digitals have. I once had an SLR with what I thought was a pretty good zoom, which was a Tempo with zoom from 35 to 200mm. The Schneider Variogon zoom lense on this camera has a 28-840mm (equivalent) lense! I took a picture from 3rd base at Coors Field in Denver to the press box in the corner past 1st base and got a very sharp picture. I am very pleased with the pictures I have taken so far and love the zoom. I'm still learning the features but the auto selection gives you great pictures which I have used the most so far. I used the sport mode at the baseball game and got some very sharp pictures of batters in action. I'm very pleased with my purchase and got it at a really great price under $200. You just can't beat it, especially for the price.CHRISTOPHER K : I've had the camera for a couple of weeks, and am quite pleased with it - especially for the price. It takes excellent pictures, especially outside or inside when there's lots of natural light. The zoom is good also, though the auto-focus can be touchy when the lens is fully extended. Shopper : does it have a optical image stabilized zoom ?MICHAEL P : Yes, and it works nicely even on maximum zoom.JOSEPH B : YES- BUT ANYTHING OVER 20X A STABILIZER SHOULD BE USED.VINCE N : Yes It has OISHELEN O : Yes it has an optical image stabilizer, because when you take an image that is not stable or is flowing to fast like a waterfall, it prints out on the screen that it can not process the photo, I actually don't know how to turn this device off cause there must be a way to take a waterfall... But if you are standing on a mountain and not holding it perfectly still, it will show you a message that says it can not complete image. So maybe the second answer is more of what you are looking for but you got two answers from me...thanks Helen, single and cute living in Mendocino, CA
