LEICA DIGILUX 3 FILLS An amazing NICHE
For the price, this German made Leica has "M"-like qualities, is quiet, fast, takes excellent RAW, jpeg, and can be fitted with outstanding 4/3 bayonnete Leica and the excellent Olympus Zuiko lenses. A large and moderately priced choice. I shoot RAW, and really have fallen in love with the capture CMOS definition. It has those small, easy, intuitive tools the Leica "M" series has, but does show a bright TTL view (not a range finder). I take this with my Canon, Contax, and Nikon high end gear...

The Leica Digilux 3 ushers a new era of the digital reflex system and sets forththe Digilux line. The Digilux 3 combines modern technology with a classical body. It includes elements such as the speed-setting ring, the manual, fast and easy to handle settings for aperture, zoom and focusing on the lens.
These features help set apart the Digilux 3 from other conventional digital SLR cameras. The Digilux 3 has a 7.5 Megapixel Live MOS-Sensor and a supersonic wavefilter which protects the sensor from dirt and dust particles when changing the lens.
The Digilux 3 is the first digital camera with changeable lens thus elevating the Digilux line from the compact camera segment to system cameras. The Digilux 3 is placed just under the M and R System cameras but clearly above the V-LUX line. The Digilux 3 will definitely appeal to the ambitious amateur photographers and the professional photographers.
