Works good, but it has a bolt hole on the side which is a little distracting when holding the camera. You will have no access to the battery and SD card when the grip is installed so you will need to remove it to replace the battery. Takes about 5 seconds to remove but still a negative in my opinion.

A nice grip but you must remove it to change the battery, which is inconvenient. It is also expensive compared to other available grips for the Q.

Just bought the Q. Bought the handle at the same time as well as a thumbs up grip. This combo makes it much easier to handle the Q safely without fear of dropping it (although also safely tethered to a Joby Sling strap). I think it would be much more difficult to handle the camera without this setup. Very well made.

The hand grip for the Leica Q is essential for shooting without looking through the viewfinder, when composing vertically, or holding the camera with one hand. Like the Q, it is a finely crafted accessory. The only negative aspect of having this unit attached to your camera is whenever you need to swap batteries or remove the memory card, you need to remove the grip first. It screws on with just 3 to 4 rotations but it is still a necessary step when getting to the battery/sensor compartment.

The Q is a camera of beautiful design and function. The grippy rubber skin covering and thumb indent make it a joy to hold. That being said, there is room for some improvement in the way of a more secure hold, and the improvement is done perfectly by the add on grip. A steadier hold for all work, and an absolute need for the street photographer. Very highly recomended.
