I use a sling strap with a RRS clamp, but I like to have a strap around my wrist to help control the "swing" of the camera and as added insurance. This strap is the perfect length to allow movement of my hand, but also catch the camera if needed. No problems operating the camera at all. The strap loop is about 5.25 inches long (loop folded). And being Leica, the quality is excellent. The strap is very firm at first, but softens with use, as leather does.

I have been using a wrist strap on my Canon cameras for many years. I find it less cumbersome than wrapping a neck strap around my forearm. So when I purchased the Leica Q I bought this product immediately. It is all leather, well-made, complete with a shield to prevent scratching the camera when installed. Once you slip your hand through the loop you'll notice the snug fit as you place your thumb on the back and your index finger over the top controls of the camera. It completely frees your left hand to manually focus, set F-stop, set menus, retrieve & delete photos, or any other function on the camera.i use it in conjunction with the Leica Hand Grip. It also creates a level of security as it makes it near impossible to drop your camera or have it swapped out of your hand. I would not buy a new camera without one.

I bought this for my M9 and it fits and handles perfectly. The fine-grain leather is a little stiff right now, but I'm sure it will soften in time. I've had other straps, but this is the best so far. Expensive but well worth it!
