Questions & Answers

Shopper : How many exposures on this film ?JOEL L : For a 6×6 camera, 12. For a 6×4.5 camera, 18.CLAUDIO V : For 120 film, the maximum number of exposures per roll would depend on the camera format as follows: 6x9 cm 8 exposures per roll 6x7 cm 10 exposures per roll 6x6 cm 12 exposures per roll 6x4,5cm 15 or 16 exposures per rollIsaac P : It depends on what format you're shooting. I get 15 frames on my 6X4.5, 12 frames on my 6X6 and 10 Frames on my 6X7.HERMANN G : 12JERRY K : From the question, I'd guess you are new to shooting medium format (meaning frame sizes generally considered to be 6 cm "tall" by a varying amount "wide"), so you might want to do some internet homework. Many medium cameras use 120 film, but they all can be slightly different in the way they load, advance, and frame the film during actual use. So the answer depends on the film format your camera is designed to use. As a general guide, 6x7 cameras such as the Mamiya RB67 series will provide 10 exposures. For 6x6, as in most twin lens reflex cameras such as the Rolleiflex and Yashica Mat, you get 12 exposures. For 6x4.5 format, such as the Mamiya 645 and Bronica RF645, it can vary from 15 to 16, depending on the camera model. Many older 120 film cameras used a 6x9 format, which allows only 8 frames per roll. On the other end of this width spectrum, some "specialty" medium format cameras use 6x12 and even wider formats to capture an extreme wide angle view. Most of these are 6cm "tall", but can take exposures 9, 12, or even 18cm or more wide, in which case the photographer gets a lot fewer frames on a roll of 120 film, maybe even as few as four. Good luck.Mitch E : This answer depends on the camera you are using. Below is a guide for approximate frames of exposures: 6x4.5 = 15 exposures 6x6 = 12 exposures 6x7 = 10 exposures 6x9 = 8 exposuresPATRICK P : All 120 roll films will produce 12 exposures per roll of the most common medium format image size, 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" (6x6 cm) . Some older cameras may use other size ratios, including 6x4.5 cm, 6x7 cm, 6x9 cm, or even 6x17 cm panoramic. For these, the number of exposures will change proportionally. For more exposures you could use 220 roll film which is twice as long, but today only color films are available in the 220 length.MARK B : Depends on the camera format, search "wiki 120 film" for more info.ANDREW H : If your camera is a 6x6cm 12 -- Rolleiflex/Rolleicord/Mamya C330/Hasselblad If your camera is a 6X7cm less If your camera is a 6X4.5 more The width of the film is 6Ccm or 2-1/4 inch the length is used based on the format of your camera.HAO L : 9 for 6x7. 12 for 6x6. 16 for 6x4.5.CHARLES P : It depends upon the size of the image. 2-1/4 c 1-5/8 = 16 2-1/4 x 2-1/4 = 12 2-1/4 x 2-3/4 = 10 2-1/4 x 3-1/4 = 8DANIEL G : Good question... The number or exposures on 120 roll film depends on the format of your camera. For example 6 x 4.5 will give you 15 to 16 shots per 120 roll, 6x6 will give you 12 shots, 6x7 will give you 10, 6x9 will give you 8, and 6x12 will give you 6. So again, the proper answer depends on your specific camera format. This is a beautiful film! Good luck and enjoy.
Shopper : How many exposures on this film ?DALE N : The number of exposures available from 120 size film is determined by the camera it is installed in. My Mamiya RB67 using the 6x7 back yields 10 exposures. Most cameras using a square 6x6 format yield 12 exposures. Hope this helps.ROBERT L : 12 if the format is 6X6 square. 9 if the format is 6X7. Eight if the format is 6X9. Depends on the format. They used to make it in 220 format as well, twice as many! I plan on shooting with my Hasselblad this weekend, a nice square shot of a fence gate on FP4.CECIL E : Depends on the camera. A 6x6 square format TLR like a Rolleiflex or Yashica-Mat will get 12 exposures. A 6x9 camera will get 8, while a 6x4.5 (aka "645" camera) will get 15 or 16. There are also panoramic cameras that get fewer exposures, but anywhere between 8 and 16 is most common.WARREN K : Twelve exposures per roll.DAVID L L : That depends on your camera. If your camera shoots a 6 x 9 image, then you get 8 exposures; if your camera shoots a 6 x 4.5 image, then you get 15 or 16 exposures; if your camera shoots a 6 x 6 or a 6 x 7 image, then about 12.LES M : 12 exposures if you're using a 2 1/4 square format camera like a Rollei, Mamiya C330 or Hasselblad. 15 exposures with a 6x4.5 format, such as the Mamiya 645.
Shopper : Is it suitable for a 6x9 cm camera?LLOYD P : I use it for my Zenza Bronica ETRS. Lloyd PNATHANIEL K : I have used Ilford FP4 Plus in the roll film back on my Graflex. The negative size in 6 x 9 cm. I have been very satisfied with the results.John S : Yes, FP4 is suitable for all cameras using the 120 film formatPATRICIA D : I guess yes. I use this film in my 6x7 Mamiya 7 and I get 10 exposures. The role is approx. 80 cm long, so you might get 8 exposures.JIM B : I have used FP4 Plus in a 6X6 camera with excellent results so I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a 6X7 or 6X9.JONATHON D : Yes.DOUGLAS H : Ilford FP-4 120 film, like any 120 film, will work with 6x9 cameras--if the camera is designed to use 120 film. It would be easier to answer your question if you identified the camera you intend to use. If a new, modern camera, it likely takes 120 film--but older cameras from the 1960's and earlier used various roll film sizes, some of these film sizes no longer being available. If a camera requires a film size other than 120, it isn't going to work with 120 film (with some exceptions). Best DougBILL M : Ilford makes quality products, and this film is no exception. At an ISO of 125, you'll need good light (the film is a bit slow for low-light shooting). And, yes, the film will work in a 6x9 film back (the width of the film is 6 centimeters, so it would work in 6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7 and 6x9 backs or cameras.WILSON D : Of course it is.THOMAS T : Yes, this film should work fine in any camera that can take 120 roll film.THOMAS N : Yes, 120 file is suitable for 6x9 cameras. Actually, 120 film works for 6x12, 6x9, 6x8, 6x7, 6x6, and 6x4.5. Hope this helps.

Can't go wrong with this one

One of my favorite black and white films, very fine grain, not too contrasty but with enough contrast in good lighting conditions. Subtle tonality and usable for many subjects.

Going Back to Film

I would definitely recommend this product. I purchased this ISO 125 speed black and white film to load into my Nikon N6006 film camera. I wanted to see if film is better than digital, now that I know more about taking photographs. The photos came out great and I may now go back to film.

i like fp4+

This is my personal view, you can find all technical details easily. Film is made by Ilford and i don't have to say anything else. In my humble opinion, the best films available on market these days are made by Ilford. I use fp4+ in medium and large format from years. My only regret is that I can't photograph more.

Smooooooooooth

FP4+ has become my go-to medium speed B&W film for portraits, especially in 120 roll film and 4x5, where the tones really shine. Its ability to render the transition zones between light and shadow has the smoothest gradients (to my eyes) of any film I've used. Great stuff!

Its safe to experiment

First time with this film on a Minolta SRT201 w/ functional light meter. Blacks are really vivid and the grain is subtle even in harsh light situations within the foreground. I will soon do a portrait shoot with this film (indoors) with one light on the model.

Absolutely terrific film..for everything

By JAMES G.

I have been using FP4..in 35mm, 120 and 4x5 sheet film sizes for over twenty years now, developing in Acufine and have consistently been getting excellent results. Good tonality, sharpness and fine grain all the time. Afterall..my 20 years of loyalty to this marvelous film speaks for itself....!!!!

Exceptional Film

By callmeBe

This film is today's standard by which all B&W films are measured (in landscape photography). This film can be pushed 2 stops without adding appreciably to graininess, and processes well with many types of developers. (It will be your developer that limits it's ability to expand--rather than the film)! For pyro fans, this film is just about perfect--with slightly less stain than several other films on the market, but the ability to push much further (which more than makes up for that slight l...
