I enjoyed the consistency and flexibility of this film, especially when developed in Rodinal 1+50. I have tried boutique or small company films, but have had inconsistent results that won't do for assignment work or special family events.  I keep coming back to this film, since it has never failed me.

This is great film at a fair price. Unfortunately I made a huge order to stock up and then it got stolen off my porch. To their credit, adorama worked with me and stayed on top of UPS to get me a refund. Frustrating experience but Adorama handled it well and I would order from them again.

HP5 is one the best black and white film stocks. It's THE standard. Adorama doing a great job with the packaging, as always.

Best Overall

From my perspective of a novice in film photography, Ilford HP5+ is an ideal b&w film.  The exposure latitude is forgiving. The 400 ISO is versatile for a lot of lighting situations. Probably most importantly, it's pretty affordable. I feel comfortable experimenting a bit without being as worried as I would about wasting a roll of $18 film.

What can you say about HP5?it?s my go-to BW film stock and the only one I buy bricks of these days. Beautiful tonality and flexible for whatever your style. Best all-arounder. And of course Adorama FTW.

HP5 is flexible with low grain and looks great with the Matt Day special- metered at 800 and pushed +2 in processing.  Versatile, reliable, and virtually fool proof.

beautiful film! I would suggest y'all start packaging it in metal canisters though, the entire roll is just inside an unsealed black bag inside of the box it comes in so it doesn't feel as well protected from the light as bulk rolls in metal canisters come! thanks though!

This is my go to film for general photography. It has great latitude and a consistent look. I have pushed it to 3200 with great results although I typically shoot it at box speed.
