&#149; ILFORD MULTIGRADE FB CLASSIC has been designed for the creative printer wanting neutral image colour, great clarity and a good response to toners. This is a premium quality, variable contrast, black and white photographic paper, coated onto a 255g/m2 fibre base.  &#149; MULTIGRADE FB CLASSIC has a white base tint and prints made on the paper have rich blacks, deliver excellent tonal rendition and overall print appearance. In addition to producing the superb quality you have come to expect from ILFORD photographic papers, you will find that this product is versatile, easy to work with in the darkroom and well suited to toning applications, particularly on theglossy surface.  &#149; MULTIGRADE FB CLASSIC is a fast exposure darkroom paper. The product has a shortinduction time of around 20 seconds for image appearance during processing; there is a closer speed relationship between grades; more uniform grade separation; sharp images; an extended low contrast at soft filtrations (00 end);a 50% reduction in wash times to save on water; whilst retaining all the handling and filtration during processing that you have come to expect from traditional MULTIGRADE FB papers.  &#149; It is also suitable for use in all types of darkroom enlargers. It is compatible with most safelights designed for black and white papers with a cut off no lower than 580nm. It is also fully compatible with the ILFORD chemistry range as well as the ILFORD optimum permanence wash sequence.  &#149; MULTIGRADE FB CLASSIC will deliver seven full grades of contrast from grade 00 to grade 5 in half grade steps when used with ILFORD MULTIGRADE FILTERS. After washing and drying, it can be mounted using the standard methods for fibre-basedpapers.

I've been working and teaching with Ilford materials for many years. Great company, excellent products. You can get amazing results from Multigrade Classic. Beautiful tonal range, very responsive to exposure/development controls and toning. I use Multigrade Classic RC for contact prints, and the Fiber Base for both work prints and exhibition.

Classic Black and White Prints, Get This Paper!

I have been using this for years, after Kodak withdrew its Polymax Fine Art. They are similar, cold tone, and the Ilford responds identically to the Kodak graded filters. I only use fiber base and the glossy is just that. It’s an easy paper to love.

An old standby in multigrade FB papers

This is the go-to paper for me, and also for every photographer I know who works with traditional silver prints today.  It's dependable.  (I've worked with cheaper products from Eastern Europe that have had quality control issues.)  It's fast, beautiful, tones well, and doesn't have too much dry-down.  It's really the best paper out there for general darkroom printing on a fine-art level.

Overall this paper is excellent, but some of them had a small mark on them, you don’t notice until you start developing the print. But overall the paper is great!

This is possibly the best general purpose multigrade photographic paper ever made and my latest purchase of 250 sheet boxes from Adorama came at a price that other sellers could not match. Thank you Adorama.
 
There is a hard-to-solve problem in shipping damage for this product. A 250 sheet box of photographic paper is heavy and very dense for its volume. This characteristic overwhelms the light weight air-filled packing used and the photographic  paper boxes move about and become split while riding within an intact outer carton. Opening the shipment under photographic safe-light and repackaging the photographic paper into light proof boxes is a sensible precaution if damage is suspected.

Ilford Multigrade FB Classic Enlarging Paper from Adorama.

I love this stuff. Whites are bright, blacks are black, the surface looks great, it seems to be truly neutral (not cool or warm tone), and even the dreaded fiber curl behavior doesn't seem as bad as usual with double weight FB paper.

Ilford multigrade fiber 8x10 paper

I have been using Ilford Multigrade Fiber for many years now.  It has been my only paper since Agfa VC went off the market.  It has the best contrast range of any paper I know, with deep blacks and clean sparkling whites, and is perfect for exhibition prints.  Another plus is that it has short exposure times, and has always been very consistent.  I am grateful to Ilford for continuing to supply such fine films and papers.

Paper your home with photos.

ilford paper has consistency of quality.  The fiber paper has much better blacks than theRC paper . I like the warm tone paper too and there is not a big difference in color until you tone it
