Take your photography skills to the next level with the Obscura 4x5" Film Pinhole Camera Kit, a product of meticulous British craftsmanship, exclusively designed for ILFORD PHOTO. This lightweight camera, constructed from precision-cut expanded PVC, boasts a unique and ingenious design that has captivated photography enthusiasts at numerous exhibitions. The Obscura is composed of two interlocking sections, ingeniously designed for ease of use. The photographic medium is securely loaded into the bottom section under darkroom conditions, and then held firmly in place by the top section, which locks into place using strategically placed magnets. The top section also houses the stainless steel, chemically etched 0.3mm pinhole, designed to deliver wide-angle images with a focal length of 87mm. This camera is specifically designed for 4x5 inch film or paper, offering you the flexibility to experiment with different mediums. The Obscura's pinhole exposures are controlled by a magnetic locking shutter, which can be left in the open or closed position for added convenience. The front section is designed to be ambidextrous, making it suitable for both right and left-handed users. The Obscura also features a tripod-mounting socket for stability during shoots, and an enclosed sticker to create a sighting line for aiming the camera. Drawing parallels with the HARMAN TiTAN 4x5 pinhole camera, the Obscura kit comes supplied with 10 sheets of 4x5 inch ILFORD DELTA 100 Professional film, and 20 sheets of ILFORD MULTIGRADE IV RC paper, to kickstart your pinhole photography journey. The kit also includes a simple Exposure Calculator for use without a light meter, a set of stickers for personalizing your camera, a user instruction booklet, and a 3-tray light-tight sheet film box for storing exposed materials. The only additional equipment you need to load and unload the camera while on location is a changing bag. The Ilford Obscura Pinhole Camera "Kit" made for a wonderful gift to a family photographer. It provides a high quality pinhole camera along with film and photo paper. The camera design incorporates cleverly placed magnets for the pin hole cover (shutter) and to secure the pieces of the camera body. Use of the magnets provides just enough retention without resorting to complicated latches. A great implementation as it simplifies manipulation and administration (loading / unloading) of the camera in a light proof changing bag. The included film and photo paper is exceptionally good quality too. A very reasonably priced kit for those who would appreciate pinhole photography producing 4 x 5 inch images. Well Done!
