This is one of the last great slow speed Black and white films. I’ve developed in Rodinal and caffenol with exceptional results. Film is very flat making scanning a breeze.

This is one fine film, but limited to certain lighting schemes. I like it for 35mm since it's very sharp, low on grain and has good tonality. That said, it's not a "walk around and shoot/snap" type film. It is more suited to using the camera on a tripod. If you can live with lower shutter speeds and less handheld shooting then it's a fantastic film. Team it with a good lens, proper exposure and good processing and you'll see what I mean. Oh, it is beautiful in medium format also!

This film exceeded my expectations and I will buy more soon. I love the sharpness, contrast, tonality, and the grain (or the lack thereof). Any problems that I've had with it had more to do with me and my bad exposure habits that I formed while shooting digital RAW the last few years. I decided to buy some black and white film for a project and now prefer, at least for right now, to shoot black and white. I recommend the Ilfotec DDX developer for extra smoothness and Adox Adonal (Rodinal) for sharpness.

It's the sharpest film I've used. All Ilford filmscans well, does not curl or twist after processing.

With a speed rating of ISO 50/18 Degree in standard daylight conditions, this film is engineered for photographers who prioritize the sharpest details and the smoothest grain in their work.
The PAN F Plus distinguishes itself with its exceptional resolution and edge sharpness, ensuring that every captured image is a testament to the highest standards of image quality. Whether you're creating mural-sized enlargements or seeking to capture intricate details, this film delivers an impressive tonal range and clarity that is unparalleled, even in large format prints.
Photographers will appreciate the PAN F Plus's generous exposure latitude, which contributes to prints that boast remarkable brightness and a dynamic tonal range. This film is not only versatile in its application but also in its development compatibility, seamlessly integrating with all major black and white film processing systems, including those with standard short fixing and washing times.
Transitioning to PAN F Plus from other ISO 50/18 Degree films is effortless, with no need to alter your standard processing techniques. While development times may vary, the robust nature of this film ensures it remains forgiving, producing excellent results even under less-than-ideal processing conditions.
The 35mm PAN F Plus film comes in DX Coded cassettes, which are compatible with all 35mm cameras. The cassettes themselves are designed for durability, with firmly affixed end caps that withstand rough handling without compromising the film.
Moreover, the film features a neutral base tint for straightforward print contrast assessment when viewed on a lightbox. The clear and bold frame numbering, along with half-frame letter indicators, simplifies negative identification, streamlining the post-processing workflow.
