I fell in love with the versatility, tones, ease of use. It does really well with my expired film.

If you follow directions exactly and keep it in a dark well stoppered bottle it works exceptionaly well. I drop clean marbles in the glass bottle to evacuate the air and my solution always stays fresh. I havent tried this with t grain films but I find it superior on low asa silver rich film.

This is a fine-grain, compensating film developer, that permits one to have complete control over image density and contrast on the negative. Its keeping properties in a tightly stoppered bottle are outstanding, and its exhaustion rate is highly predictable. This developer does take some experience to get the most out of it, but the time and experimentation are well worth the effort. BMH

I shoot night time shows. I really rate the film at 3200 so I needed a fine grain developer. I print images 11x14 to 20x24 and the grain looks finer then a normal developer.

Under the banner of Ilford, a brand synonymous with superior quality in the world of photography, the Perceptol Fine Grain Developer for Black & White Film stands out as a professional-grade product. This one-liter developer is specifically designed for those seeking ultra-fine grain negatives, where a decrease in film speed is not a primary concern.
The Perceptol developer has been meticulously formulated to extract the maximum potential from high-resolution lenses. It leverages the exceptional grain structure of Ilford's medium and slow speed films, such as the 100 DELTA PROFESSIONAL, FP4 Plus, and PAN F Plus. Moreover, it significantly refines the grain in Ilford's fast films, including DELTA 400 PROFESSIONAL, HP5 Plus, and DELTA 3200 PROFESSIONAL, when compared to a standard fine grain developer.
Ideal for situations where texture and definition are paramount, the Perceptol Fine Grain Developer is capable of producing negatives that yield sharper and higher quality enlargements than those developed using a standard fine grain developer. Regardless of the lens or film combination you choose, this developer promises excellent results, making it a reliable choice for both professional photographers and passionate hobbyists.
