I'm still not sure how this is different from other Ilford fixers. (Maybe my poor research--not Ilford's fault. Their documentation is clear and complete.) The fixers are all, as far as I can tell, fast and non-hardening, and appear to work just fine.

What I need was a good, clean working non-hardening fixer and HYPAM works. It was hard to find a commercial, non-hardening fixer - thankfully, I found HYPAM. I did not find any other fixer in my search that was non-hardening.

This is the fixer I've been using consistently for years with b&w film and paper. Easy to mix and use. Works fast. Never gives me any problems.

This seems to be exactly the same fixer I used for many years when I did film photography but stopped using when I switched to digital briefly. Having (happily) returned to film, I'm grateful it's still available.

adorama isn't a professional warehouse, I understand that, so their packaging efforts fall short .. this means boxes too big, so they barely survive the trip to me... TIP: buy your chemicals now before someone at UPS notices

I have been a photographer for 45 years. I have had exhibitions in Australia (my home country) as well as London. Buying chemicals, paper and film from a reliable store is very important for me because without them I am unable to continue doing what I love. And Adorama is the camera store who I rely on to keep me up to date with all that I need. They never let you down and their service is 100% every time. I purchase Ilford Hypam non - hardening Rapid Fixer from them as well as other Ilford products to make sure my darkroom is always ready when I need to work. Be assured that ADORAMA is a very reliable company and without them I could not continue to do what I love. Bruce Hart.

From the renowned brand Ilford, the Hypam Non-Hardening Rapid Fixer is a high-quality, professional-grade solution designed for both film and paper. This efficient and reliable product is supplied as a liquid concentrate, which is easily diluted with water for immediate use.
Crafted for versatility, the Hypam Non-Hardening Rapid Fixer is suitable for all black and white film and paper, accommodating both manual and machine processing applications. It operates optimally in a temperature range of 18-40½C (66-104½F), ensuring consistent performance across various environments.
Beyond traditional photography, this durable fixer can also be utilized for specialist applications, including X-ray and scientific products, as well as graphic arts materials. The fixing agent in Hypam is ammonium thiosulphate, ensuring it contains no sodium thiosulphate (hypo).
Additionally, the product includes the Ilford Hypam Hardener, a concentrated liquid hardener that transforms working strength solutions of Ilford Hypam into a hardening fixer for black and white films. However, given the advanced manufacturing processes of modern camera films, the general use of a fix hardening agent is typically not necessary.
In summary, the Ilford Hypam Non-Hardening Rapid Fixer offers a reliable, efficient, and versatile solution for a wide range of photography and specialist applications.
