Questions & Answers

ALVIN S : What is the best compact flash card?MILES H : I have used these for 6 months. I don't often fire rapid burst of pics, but when I do these cards can handle about anything without waiting for the buffer to catch up. To take advantage of the rapid download to the computer, you need a USB 3 connection and a fast card reader. My main computer with a USB 2 connection is about one-half as fast as my laptop with a USB 3 connection. I've had good luck with Lexar, Kingston, and SanDisk over the years. With the above qualification, I'm not sure you get any advantage from the super-fast cards unless all your other gear is likewise capable and up-to-date.JOEL W : There are many good quality flash cards. The important considerations are usually write-speed since your camera can only write one image at a time to the card. The faster the card can write data, the quicker your camera can take repeated shots. I have always used either Lexar PRO or Sandisk PRO cards and rarely if ever do I have any problems. As a side note, I always format the card before each photo shoot to make sure the card is clean when I start.ALVIN S : Thanks. . .ALVIN S : Thanks. . .DAVID W : IDK, but these are pretty good.TRUONG D : Sandisk and lexar are the best in my opinion. I have 4 Lexar CF cards (400x and 1000x) and haven't had any problem. ELI N : So far working very well.ALVIN S : Thanks Wes. . .WES H : CF cards are measured in capacity (how many GB) and speed (how fast they read and write) Newer cameras utialize UDMA 7 which means they can transfer data to the cars ultra fast. "Best" compact flash card is not as important as "Best for my application" Lexar 1000x UDMA7 are one of the fastest cards on the market. To me they are the best cards, and most RELIABLE. Both Lexar and SanDisk are the most reliable consumer cards on the market. In my opinion, they are better than Kingston, transend,PNY, Delkin. But some may argue against my statement, but I have found Lexar to be the BEST overall. I only use Lexar cards with my cameras.CHARLES P : Speaking for myself, the( Lexar Professional 1000x 16G ) has performed flawlessly. I often shoot the card to capacity with absolutely no problems. Ten (10) frames per second, Fifty (50) shot bursts, Full resolution and not even a hickup (technical term). Downloads are smooth and uneventful too. I shoot sports events, graduations, family gatherings and my grandaughter, literally thousands of images using this card so for my money this is the Best Compact Flash card I have ever used. I do NOT benifit in any way by making this statement. Hope this helpsANNE L : These work great with my Nikon D800. They write as fast as the camera can shoot.
Shopper : 2 pack ? mean have 2 paper packet separately ??PAUL S : I'm not sure what the question was about. The product description clearly shows two Compact Flash cards, which are packed in a single bubblewrap package. I have no idea where 'paper' came from. With respect to the product, I've been using these cards extensively over the past 4 months without a single problem---they are fast, both in camera and downloading to the computer.DOUG G : Yes, you get two cards and I believe they were packaged separately as if you were buying two cards off the shelf at a Best Buy.JOHN C : You get two cards in a single package. I would recommend them.WA B : Yes you will get two packs, they say a double pack but the come indivisual packed.FRANK C : This package contains 2 CF cards.
Shopper : Will this CF work in my Nikon D200 camera and will It perform at the speeds described ?CHARLES P : I'm certain the card will work in a D200 but the camera is not designed to take advantage of the UDMA 7 technology. The only camera I know of that can use this feature is the new Nikon D4. I use a Lexar Professional 400x card in my Nikon D300 and it works perfectly....., and costs much less.

Great Card.

I don't have a single complaint about this card. I use it with a Nikon D-700 and it works great. It's the fastest card I own thus far and it works great.

The only Brand I Use

Because I shoot Raw I want a memory card that shoots and downloads fast. The Lexar Professional 1000x Compact Flash Card meets those requirements. Plus, I never have to worry about a card failure.

Excellent

I just got my Nikon D800E and was using a 600 speed card and it bogged down a few times. I saw these on sale so I bought them. Haven't bogged down yet. No problems at all.

The Lexar 1000x CF cards just fly!!

As soon as as I got the cards I started using them both for DSLR video and photo shootings and I was startled at how fast do they work. It's been a while since I got new cards , and the previous ones, also 16 Gigs, also by Lexar, were just 300x, and even though their were already good for most of my needs, I still wanted something more effective when shooting time lapse and other experimental work, where a big buffer to store RAW files was necessary. These cards are the right answer to these needs. I strongly recommend these and any other Lexar card. I have both 16 Gb, 8 Gb and 4Gb cards, and I have been using them for years, and they have never failed. Simple!! Cheers!

Great Card

I use this card as a backup to my 32GB 1000x Lexar card in my Nikon D800. Sometimes I want a jpeg version in addition to my RAW file for quick review. This card gets the jpeg and handles it perfectly. Speed and efficiency are two reasons I like this card.

Blazing fast - absolutely dependable

The 16GB Lexar 1000x CF memory card is fast. Just plain fast. I recently transitioned to the Nikon D800, and 75MB raw files can build up in your buffer pretty quickly. No other memory card sucks them up faster, ensuring I can shoot when I am ready to. I have also used nothing but Lexar CF cards for years now and have experienced 100% reliability from them. They are reasonably priced, especially for what they do.

A big speed upgrade from SD.

I bought these because my SD cards had a hard time keeping up with my Nikon D800 in raw format. I used all four that I bought at this weekends wedding, and performance was flawless. I didn't have to wait for buffering on any occasion, and am considering buying another pair of these CF cards.

Great When Usable

I would use this product in my digital SLR, but I didn't know that my "old" Lexar card reader won't work with them; I need the USB2 reader, which will be an extra cost that I hadn't anticipated. Once that's accomplished, and I also acquire a computer that accommodates USB2 plugs, the speed of these cards will be an extreme advantage for a camera that captures huge image sizes and needs as much buffering as possible. I'm looking forward to using the cards once I've acquired all the necessary equipment. Sorry that I hadn't researched this item more thoroughly: it wasn't mentioned in any of the product's descriptors.

Blazing

I use these in a Canon 5D MkIII and a 7D, and they are faster than any card I've ever used. The 5D never slows down due to buffer issues. As advertised. Great price point in the 2 packs as well. No issues with transferring into lightroom.

Absolutely awesome, great find!~

This is my first purchase of a Lexar pro flash card. It is worth every penny for the very fast performance achieved from the Nikon D300 processing the pics to transferring to my PC. I will definitely stick with this brand and the Pro model.

Perfect Size Card for me.

This is a great size card for me, not too big and not too small. I can get lots of great action shots of grandkids in their sports. Use a seperate card for each sport event and I am not fearful of running out of space even when using raw. I own three of the Lexar 16GB Professional 1000

Worth It!

This was my first compact flash. And after all the searching for what the right "brand" is, I decided to give Lexar a try. All I can say that it is significantly faster than my high speed SD card. Especially I always shoot in RAW. Since I am on a budget, I purchased 16 GB. Being that I know now how reliable this compact flash is, I can now be rest assured that I get my money's worth when I go ahead buy the higher capacity ones. Hope this helps the confused people and help them be more guided in choosing. My advice is to never settle.

Wow

Photographing my daughter's cheer competitions was a new challenge for me. There are a LOT of shots to get in a very short period of time. Using this card, I can concentrate on getting the shots I want, rather than worrying constantly about running out of buffer room.

Lexar 16GB Professional 1000x CF cards

I bought these cards to use with my Nikon D800E, which produces pretty big files (I shoot in RAW/NEF mode). Although I have not yet used the cards extensively so far the read/write speed of the cards handles the files very well. I am pleased with these cards, as I have been with other Lexar cards I have bought in the past.

Fast cards - good value

Got these for my D800 - anyone who has this camera knows the RAW files are massive, so your best option to avoid a bottleneck in your workflow (shooting or post) is to use fast cards. In camera they're totally transparent - you won't notice them, which is good - I've never managed to fill up the D800's buffer using these. Mind you, the camera's fps during continuous shooting isn't blazing fast, but the files are huge like I said. You get about 300 RAWs on this card with the D800. I recommend the Lexar Pro USB 3.0 reader for fast transfers to your computer. It fully utilizes the high speed of these cards.

Mac users beware

By Janis M.

Life was good with this product - I was totally happy, plugged it into my aging HP desktop's built-in card reader and uploaded images. BUT when I went to transfer images from the card to my MacBook Air with my Lexar Pro USB 2.0 reader, they were actually corrupted by the reader and put my Mac in an endless loop of "card not ejected properly". Lexar was not able to offer any solution for the 2.0 card reader. So, the bottom line was, I had to buy a new Lexar UDMA7 USB 3.0 reader for use with my...
