I use this with my UDMA card and it works well and very fast. I like the way that all I had to do was hook it up and it went. It is made to protect the itself with a popup/down catch. this is very nice and small for travel, but not the smallest I have seen. It is about 2.5"x2.5"x0.5" All around great product or the price.

The reason you buy a USB 3 reader is you want faster performance and this unit gives it. I have a Cannon 40D and I shoot in raw format. I preformed a test to give you some idea on what it did on my system copying raw files. The data below was using a 300x 8GB Transcend CF card. I basically just copied the files from my hard drive to the card reader and then copied the files back to my hard drive. If you have one of the faster CF cards then you will see even better performance. The data I used are 116 raw files with a average size of 11.5 MB. The total amount of data moved was 1.29 GB. The time to write to the card was 43 seconds which is a average speed of 30 MB/s. The time to read from the card was 7 seconds which is a average speed of 184.3 MB/s. I have owned this card reader for 8 months now and have had no problems with it. I highly recommend it.

I needed a reliable card reader that could handle the transfer of images quickly. I use Lexar CF and SD cards. I like that it closes up when not in use.

This was my first USB 3.0 reader, and it is fast. But, it quickly startsd giving me trouble. On my desktop it would freeze the computer if I left it plugged in while working in LR3 or PS5. On my laptop it would start and stop ever few seconds. Lexar took it back and replaced it. But the replacement was a Refurb and older judging by the serial and version #s. Strangely, it worked fine in USB 2.0 ports.

As promised the USB 3.0 delivers fast transfer rate, I have stopped taking jpegs since the transfer speed of the Raw images to my PC is so fast. The design is elegant and compact, much better than my old SanDisk card reader.

I purchased a different product and the pins bent after a couple of uses. THis one fits the card much better so it doesnt need to be forced in and out. It was a good solution for me when I purchased an L-bracket to allow vertical mounting of my camera on a tripod, which blocked the port for the USB cable. Now I can download pics without loosening the bracket.

I finally (finally!) got around to upgrading my card reader. I just bought a new Fuji X10 and needed a reader to transfer SD cards. I can not believe just how fast USB 3.0 is transferring my images! I've been a professional Lexar user since going digital in 2003.

I have been using a Fire wire reader and it was disappointing how long it took to download 24 megapixel files. I installed a USB 3.0 PCIe card in my PC. Bought this Lexar Card Reader. The download of files is so so fast, I can hardly believe it. So worth it.

I take many sports pictures for the local school. I shoot all "raw" and jpeg" combined. I usually have at least 200 pictures to download. This process (with my old Lexar) usually takes anywhere from 10-20 minutes. The first time I used this I had 200 pics to download and to my amazement it took only 1 minute. Anyone who shoots a lot of large image files will love this product. Well worth the money....

I owned the USB 2.0 version and when this came available, I jumped on it. It does make a difference. I did need to buy a USB 3.O card for my computer. Worth every penny.

Simple, professional. Just two slots for SD and CF which is all I need. Closes up for transport. I should get another one.

I am a professional videographer that purchased this to transfer my video files from my SD card to my computer for editing/archiving. The files range from 1.0GB to 6.0GB in size. Those transfers used to take FOREVER with a USB2.0 reader. They are significantly faster with this card reader. I also use it when I transfer stills off my Canon Powershot point-n-shoot. I transferred 300MB of pictures and it was an instant transfer...no progress bar. Certainly a fast card reader. WORD OF WARNING THOUGH! I have an ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 motherboard, and the on-board USB3 slots don't work. ASUS knows about the problem, but apparently doesn't care. So this did cost an extra $30 to purchase a 2 port PCI card. Still worth the money though!

I bought CANON EOS 7D recently and was shooting HD Videos and require a high speed data transfer device due to huge size of videos and still pictures as well.

I use this reader to take my Raw photos from a Compact Flash UDMA card and I find it faster than my older card reader. I like the way that it closes to keep dust out and the way that it sits neatly on my desk top. The price is good and the product is good, well made and reliable.
