My cameras use CF and SDHC cards only. This Lexar card reader is exactly what I need to get the job done. You can even download a CF and SDHC card simultaneously! The USB 3.0 connection works super fast, but also works well with my laptop's USB 2.0 ports. Installs easily with no disks required. A real plug piece of plug-and-play hardware!

I have a slot on my computer for the memory cards, but one became stuck and vowed not to put in another just in case. Saw the reviews for this one and took a chance. Downloads quite fast and no problems so far. Got it for a great price as well.I love the fact that it closes, you can acquire a lot of dust in these that is very hard to remove.

My Canon 5D Mark II Camera reads uses Compact Flash Memory, and I have several cards that I carry with me when I go out on a shoot. My Apple computers read SD cards only, so I needed a way to import my images. The Lexar is compact, portable, and reliable.

The reader is very simple to use. You plug it in and you get a message that the software has been installed..in about 2-3 seconds. You see a blue light blink a few times and your files have been loaded. Also it reads Nikon NEF files correctly so you don't see your raw files streaked with all colors of the rainbow. An excellent product!

I use the Lexar primarily to transfer large numbers of RAW images from CF memory cards to a desktop running a myriad of photo-related software: Nikon Capture NX2 and NX-D, Photoshop CS5 and CC2014, Photo Ninja and Lightroom 5.6. I am also in the process of scanning 25 years worth of 35mm film and transparencies and use the Lexar to facilitate the transfer of the digital files to stand alone storage. This card reader is compact, responsive and accepts CF or SD memory media - it travels easily and is USB 2.0 compatible. I use it on USB 2.0 platforms (a laptop along with the desktop) and it runs seamlessly on a 2.0 bus. This is my second such reader, the first having failed after about 5 years of steady service. service

It does exactly what it is advertised as. It quick and easy and can download two cards at once if you want. Plus I got a very good price when it was on sale at adorama.

Very easy to use, just plug in and you're ready to go. It's MUCH faster at copying CF cards than my last card reader and will definitely cut down on my post-production time.

I used this for my laptop. I had a Hoodman and it stopped recognizing it on the computer. Did it both oh laptop and desktop. Usb wire was loose and it was past warranty. New cord was about more that 1/2 the prices of this so I just ordered a new reader.

I use the product to download images from image cards to my computer. I used to have the USB 2.0 version, but the latest Lexar (maybe other brands) cards require a USB 3.0 connector (and the correct computer USB port). Now, I can download again. It's much faster than using a camera for direct downloads to computer, and it's even faster than the USB 2.0 predecessor.

I bought this card reader for my husband to copy digital images from a card to a laptop. He says that it is easy to use and copies files quickly. The card reader's construction is durable, too.

This is an excellent product that has the ability to use the USB 3.0 standard. The reader is well built, very dependable, and fast. The dual reader design is very convenient. But reviewing card readers is a moving target. The doesn't handle the very new SD UHS-II cards, but this isn't much of an issue unless you have a Fuji X-T1 or a Panasonic GH-4 and the new generation UHS-II cards. Otherwise a card that can be easily recommended.

I'd give it a 0 if I could. This reader is garbage--most of the time I have to plug & unplug the cable several times from the body and/or the computer to make it work. Lexar won't stand behind it--avoid it!

I just upgraded to this usb 3.0 card reader and am AMAZED at how quickly it uploads photos from my cards to the computer. I shoot raw files exclusively, and it was incredibly fast! It quickly installed on my windows 7 computer and was ready to use almost instantly. I use mostly CompactFlash cards, but like that I can also use my SD cards in it. Highly recommended!

When I used to plug in to my cameras directly. If I had a hundred or more photos it would sometimes take a half hour or more depending on which one I connected to. Now when I put the card in this device, I look up and their already transferred. A matter of seconds it's amazing.

I got this to replace an older Lexar Multi-Card reader, 24 in 1 that didn't have the UDMA 7. The reviews said it was so much faster to download images from your cards. I have seen zero speed difference with this item. I got it because the rep from Lexar said I should get a faster card reader or there was a possibility that the newer cards I have would start to have errors with the old reader. IDK how true that is honestly and like I said, no difference in the speed of downloading images. It works, and it's small but I don't see any benefit other than that.

For my daily downloads, the transfer speed is acceptable. For those days when clients need the work ASAP or yesterday, Thunderbolt or Firewire would be best. Continuity of transfer and image quality is not hampered. Great for Daily Use.

Lexar is known for their quality products, so I purchased this reader and im totally satisfied. USB 3.0 is fast for data transfer and the reader is built solid and very compact. Price is very good too for a Lexar product.

Great product if you update the firmware

This device works perfectly with the new MacBook Pro's from Apple, with USB 3 ports, you just need to update the firmware on the reader to take full advantage of the speed. Great product at a great price!
