I definitely recommend getting a battery grip for any camera if its available!!! I've been using one on my Pentax and Canon cameras for over 25 years. Especially if you go out for several hours or an all day nature shoot as I do. I don't know how I managed before.

The three stars rating is not for the actual grip, but what on earth happened to the "build" of the battery tray? Boy, Canon is really cutting some corners with that flimsy thing! Nothing like the trays in all of my other Canon grips. And What happened to the bonus tray for AA batteries that used to be included with every grip? Those were really handy as a "back-up" Otherwise it's gonna serve it's purpose until the battery tray falls apart! Maybe it's because Canon is trying to push everyone to mirrorless... LOL Not Me Buster! "Not Yet"

Unit functions properly. I was surprised and disappointed to find out that this grip doesn't come with a tray for AA batteries; as far as I know, Canon has no plans to supply one. My previous camera/battery grip did have a tray for AAs. I really got used to using rechargeable AA batteries on the previous grip; they lasted many months. Because of this, I will be returning the BG-E20 for a refund.

Really helps when shooting in portrait orientation. Having all of your controls including the joystick readily available is my favorite feature. Additional shots before changing batteries is nice as well

This is designed to work perfectly with my Canon 5d Mark IV; it does! It fits beautifully on my camera body and in my hands in either portrait or landscape configurations. Have looked at the aftermarket versions and as a professional photographer I see no gain to using them other than costs. I can't afford to chance a mechanical breakdown just to save some $$$. Have always use the manufacturers accessories since experiencing mechanical failure on an aftermarket product. If you can afford to buy the same tool more than once then aftermarket may be for you-but certainly not me, it's my livelihood !

I already use the battery grip on my 7D. I really liked the 7D grip - easy to use - and I could swap batteries (either one) in a couple of seconds. This one uses a sliding tray to hold the batteries, which is cumbersome and flimsy. Disappointing. However, I really love the controls, which even include the "joystick". That makes up for it, but not enough to give it 5 stars.

I would highly recommend this product. Being a hobbyist and supporting my son’s enthusiasm in videography it seems that battery usage increases with our excursions. This products makes excellent sense an I personally love the larger feel of the camera.

I recently purchased the Canon BG-E20 Battery Grip for my 5D Mark IV. It works perfectly and has all the features I use as a pro and extends the battery power so I never worry about running out of battery power at crucial moments. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants the added satisfaction of extra power and a better grip.

Great build, exchanged one and both have buttons that don't function properly on my canon 5D mk4. Could be a camera issue, but it works perfectly fine with an off-brand Green extreme camera grip... lol...

Love having the extra battery right in camera, huge help especially while photographing weddings. I also love that the grip does set my dale apart from all the other sales out there and looks a bit more professional. Having the option to use the shutter button vertically is also nice! Not too heavy for me! Fits just right in my small hands
