This is super sturdy and makes the 16mm look REALLY good. The main reason I bought it was so I can pull the lens out, attach it and start shooting manually without flipping around the hood. Can't use the focus clutch with the stock hood reversed. While I like the idea of the flat lens cap, it's kind of a delicate process to attach it. Something they could work on. Also this is way too expensive for what it is. I know I should have bought a 3rd party version which I hear are just as good, but my lens is new and I wanted to baby it...

I really like the looks of the hood and it is more compact than the standard hood. However, contrary to the hood that comes with the lens, the LH-XF16 can’t be inverted on the bayonet mount to save space when stored. My relatively small bag (Billingham Hadley Pro) fits my X-T3 with 18-55 attached and four lenses: 16/1.4, 23/1.4, 35/1.4 and 56/1.2 with their hoods inverted around the lens barrel. With the LH-XF16 and LH-XF23 attached to their respective lenses my kit now does not fit in my bag. Also, the price is a bit of a bummer, although I have to acknowledge that the build quality is way ahead of the standard hood.

better than plastic one included with lens, also more compact Expensive...should be included with lens costing nearly $1000

Quality of this items is good but it's just some metal and plastic ... nothing special. Don't see a reason for it to be so overpriced. I also bought cheaper version from ebay - and it's just as good! Save your money

The cover slides on securely - (NOT like the disappointing 35f1.4 smooshy thing). I prefer the hood to using protective glass up front. I can drop the camera in my padded bag without anything touching the glass even if I forget to put on the cover. Obviously remove the hood for circular polarizer, ND filter use and such.
