Nice addition to a great camera

This is a great add-on to the E-M1 when shooting portraits. It allows you to shoot vertically, and it makes the camera bigger in your hand, which is important in the studio. It also allows you to adjust aperture without having to reach back around the camera, and boosts the E-M1's anemic battery life. A second battery would have made it even more useful in this regard.

Works well to balance...

This holder works well to balance when using larger 4/3d lens with the adapter. I do wish it had space for two batteries.

This dust, splash and freeze proof power battery holder has been exclusively developed for the use with the Olympus OM-D E-M1. The HLD-7 extends the using time and allows for more flexibility in portrait shooting with an additional shutter button. Furthermore this accessory is also equipped with 2 control dials and 2 function buttons. To optimize the handling when working with the HLD-7, a special optional grip strap (GS-5) is available.
