Lightweight Unit, Heavyweight Functionality.

This unit is MUCH lighter than I thought it would be. Extra weight helps reduce camera shake. It also makes a camera harder to hold. I'm a NO TRIPOD photographer. Any extra weight to my rig means more weight to carry. The reduced weight of this unit is quite welcome. It allows me to use my AF & IS on the lenses that have it. I'm a MANUAL function photographer, having learned the "Old School" analog methods, so using my camera in full manual with no tripod is important to me on my day-to-day. That I CAN use auto functions with this teleconverter is great, because on the times when I DO use a tripod or the auto-functions, I need them to work. This VIltrox 2x Converter makes sure they do! I bought this teleconverter for my nature photography & to get back into some basic astrophotography where the increased zoom is important to get those larger images of my subject. Very happy with this unit!

Not impressed, but you will have to decide. Ok for the price but glad I didn't pay more

It impacted the focus on the camera. Had issues getting it to attached properly - it would not click into place most of the time which contributed to the focus issues. I missed some good shots because the lens was not clicked into place. When it worked, it worked well, the problem was I had trouble getting it to work

Viltrox C-AF 2X TELEPLUS is made of high-quality coated optical glass with optical design. It can make the focal length of all the Canon EF lens increased to 2 times as respectively, and the auto-focus function of the original camera lens can be used perfectly, and does not change the Exit information.

C-AF 2X TELEPLUS specifically use for 100mm or more fixed focal length lens, such as 300mm f / 2.8 lens, and 200- 500mm long lens perfect combination, can be used for fixed focus lens and a telephoto lens, but is not recommended for use in less than 60mm of short-focus lens.
