I wanted a case that would fit in a back pack, not take up too much space, protect the camera from nicks, and provide ready access to the camera. This case does all of that. The Nikon D5100 fits in perfectly, there are no extra straps. It might not save a camera from a fall but that is not what I wanted. This case is perfect for my needs.

I carry my Nikon D3100 camera on a strap attached to a tripod mounting plate. I can leave both the strap and mounting plate in place and still have the camera and it's kit 18-55mm lens protected in this case.

This is a great case and will provide good protection from the everyday bumps and bangs that a camera gets when traveling . I use it in conjunction with a opto harness to protect it when riding my Motorcycle . The camera is readily accessible , instead of storing in a case in the saddlebags . Love it! and it's made by Nikon so the quality is top notch. Fits quite a variety of lenses as well , the 55-200 af-s zoom fits well a 70-300 won't but of all my lenses only the 70-300 doesn't fit

I use this case when I don't need to take along other lenses and equipment or when space is limited. It affords protection and is relatively compact.

I am a novice photographer. I bought a DSLR for better picture quality, but found it was a b-word to carry around the well-padded, bulky case that came w/ it. The soft-case was the perfect solution for me as it offers decent protection without all the bulk!

It's a bag for the camera . . what can I say? It seems to be great for its intended purpose. The price was right for this size bag and it is easy to use and seems to protect the camera nicely.

This is a simple camera case with no bells or whistles attached. It covers the D40 with the 18-55, 55-200 kit lens well. Which is the intended use. It will also hold the 18-200 vr lens but is a very tight fit, (not recommended). No extra room to carry memory cards or spare batteries. Just the one camera strap is a nice feature. When the D40 is out of the case, the case is troublesome to carry around unless you have big pockets. It doesn't provide the best protection, but its's fine for the ease of carrying around and preventing the camera from getting dusty.
