Excellent product well-made and a perfect fit easy to open. I would like to order another one that was about 3 inches longer so I could leave my Teléfono zoom lens on my second camera.

This camera case by Nikon is designed to fit a Nikon D5500 digital camera. It fits perfectly and protects the camera from dust, bumps, and scratches. It is easy to use, well made, and priced reasonably.

i travel with a camera bag loaded with all my accesories. I take only what i need while shooting and leave the rest in the car. I wanted something to protect my camera when i wasn't shooting. This case fits the camera perfectly. It also fits back in my camera bag when finished. A really great value.highly recommend it.

Exactly what you need if you want that bit of added piece of mind toting your camera around town. Straps are exposed from case and make it easy to sling around neck. If you don't want to carry your camera bag around...get one.

I use my camera outside and in my workshop to document process so I need it at the ready, but also protected from the environment. I can access my camera quickly with velcro instead of a zipper and the light weight case hangs ready from the strap. Without a bulky case and carrying extra equipment I don't need, I am able to efficiently focus on my work.

This Nikon soft case was purchased for me, a hobby photographer, for my birthday. I like its attractive appearance and the ease with which I can remove and reseal the back part of the case to the front using a large and conveniently positioned piece of velco that is underneath the 'Nikon' patch (see image). What I do not like is that the case is really designed to get your camera safely to a photo shoot and then to be taken off. It is not designed to be repeatedly open up for a shot and then to put the campera back in the case. The reason for this is the attachment point between the camera and the case is only one (not two) small strap that wraps around the camera strap itself so that when you open the case to use the camera, it dangles to one side and it is hard to position far enough away from the camera to not impede setting up a shot. In otherwards, if you are a nature photographer who want to protect your camera over the course of shoting session, this will probably drive you nuts; I would also like it to have a simple 'lens cap pocket' on the back as a convenient way to protect and not lose it over the course of using the camera.

Purchased this case for travel in my back pack or other carry on bags. Just wanted an additional layer of protection when traveling. Used it once already for a trip in my computer back pack. Worked as advertised and to my expectations.

To me, a camera case is a necessity. If you use the camera at all, it will take falls. I had expensive digital cameras slide off the hood of my car; and fall off the car seat onto the pavement. I’m on ocean beaches with sand and salt spray. The case may not prevent damage entirely but at least I am doing something to protect my investment. I like this case for its styling, size, and the Nikon name. It should be more welcome in restaurants compared to backpacks, sweaty holsters, or gear boxes. This case is really a holster. The D5100 camera drops into it and is connected with a retaining strap. The material and styling are classy. The case is tailored to the camera. But that creates a problem: It is intuitive to reach into the case, grab the camera and pull it out. If you do that, you will keep opening the side panel on the camera. I’m right handed so the door to the flash memory is pulled open. Instead, I take the camera out of the case by holding both by the lens, then turning the case upside down to let the camera slide out, straight down into the palm of my other hand. (Pour the camera out instead of pulling it out.) It fits the D5100 with the 55-200 mm lens. I have the case for the remote commander glued into this case (if you do this, pick a spot where the commander won’t be squeezed “on”). Best features: Material, styling, fit. Worse features: No thick padding or cushioning for the camera and lens.

This case is design for Nikon D5000 but I use this case for my Nikon D5100. This soft case fit Nikon D5100 with 50mm 1.4 lens with hood on it. It's also fit perfectly with nikkor 18-200mm DX lens and Tokina 12-24mm lens. The only problem is that the hoods of these lenses have to stay home. Other than that it is good.

A perfect fit for my D5100 with 18-55mm lens. Designed to easily fit the attatch points for the camera strap. Very uesful when wearing strap around the neck, lift up the velcro attatch tab and the cover comes off very fast so no time lost fumbling around. Very well made and should last for years.

Lightweight to carry but protects camera very well. I bring camera more now because camera case makes it so convenient. I have a Nikon D3000 camera the case works very well.

For protecting the camera while not shooting it works well. It does get a bit bulky if you want to take the camera out for a quick shot. I normally take it off and store it in my back pack if I know I will be taking a few shots at one time.

Great when walking in the park with the kids and all their stuff. Protects the camera well and will not get lost. Wish there were two models; a small one for the 18-55 Kit Lens and a larger one able to hold the new 18-200.

This case is perfect to carry the camera around when you do not want a big bag. It is lightly padded - ideal so it wouldn't be too bulky. It really encourages me to bring the camera along even at times when the size of the camera would have made me think twice. Very happy with it!I bought for my Nikon D5000 but it would fit most other SLR with lens up to 4" long. [...]
